Superman fans are still upset over David Corenswet's flying in a new snap from the upcoming movie about the beloved DC action hero.
On seeing the picture, in which Superman looks like he's in an inspiring Amazon delivery ad, fans couldn't help but notice that David looked 'weird' in the wide-angle lens.
'The zoomed in fisheye lens look is so weird to me. I know everybody and their grandmother is obsessed with James Gunn and thinks he's some perfect filmmaker, but so much of the promotional material for this movie makes me want to not see it,' said @syaokuro on X.
'The close up shots look so weird,' said @Its_Me_Cole, while @ZibahTheCreator added: 'Why does it look AI generated than an actual studio work?'
'Probably gonna skip this one until it's free,' commented @Lbnumber34, while @adijain31 simply said: 'Looks funny af.'
'POV im waiting for you to give me my lil kiss on the forehead,' joked @Cuellar_Elissa about the hopeful facial expression on David's face.
'We need to retire this camera angle for good,' said @Rasheto.
'I know he REALLY wants this shot but man you gotta let this s**t go,' said @Jdemfoo.
'It looks terrible, unflattering and there's basically no right way to light this scene. Cutting room floor.'
Some compared the moment to similar shots of Dwayne ' The Rock ' Johnson as Black Adam and Will Poulter as Adam Warlock in movies gone by.
When the teaser trailer dropped in January fans had the same issue.
'I don't know why you would shoot a shot like this in that way. It's always gonna make a head appear bigger and give the shot a weird look – it also accentuates David Corenswet's strabismus eyes,' Reddit userDoctorBeatMaker reflected.
'I think there's something wrong with the cape too. It looks way too fake somehow,' equal-ad-2710 wrote.
'If I had to guess they've used this lens because it gives off a greater sense of speed and to be fair I definitely do get that feeling from it, even if it makes his face look a little weird because of the angle,' TheJosider defended.
'This shot looks so bad every time. why do filmmakers insist on it?' ProtectMeAtAllCosts complained.
Over on X, many were comparing the flying sequence to Henry Cavill's version when he played Superman from 2013 to 2017 in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League.
'Biggest downgrade in history of DC on screen,' chriwankenobi posted.
'The real issue isn't just the face it's the way he's flying the arms by his side just makes the flying look uncomfortable it makes David look ill at ease superman should look at ease when he's flying the flying should be graceful,' moviestvmad echoed.
'Seriously, what is up with these weird face-on lens distortion flying shots focusing only on the character's face lately? Black Adam, Adam Warlock, and now Superman.
'There are so many cooler ways to visualize flying; just look at anything in Man of Steel. These just look goofy,' @ColtonC_20 argued.
For those worried about the use of computer graphics, however, the CEO of DC Studios and filmmaker James Gunn shut down speculation on Threads.
'Looks dope!! Great camera angle of Superman flying!! Except there's something with his face that looks a little off. I know there's plenty of time to refine the CG,' @blutattu commented.
James replied: 'There is absolutely zero CG in his face. People's faces can look different when you put a wide angle lens up close. The background plate in Svalbard [a filming location in the Norwegian archipelago] is 100% real as is David.'
For the most part, there is plenty of excitement for this new take on the age-old superhero, which also stars Rachel Brosnahan as heroine Lois Lane and Nicholas Hoult as villain Lex Luthor.
'Lives will be changed. I can't wait for this!' @silverscreen_re wrote.
'This movie is gonna be so f**king good…I actually can't wait,' @thecollectorn shared.
'Keep getting more and more hyped for this,' @theslyfox13 wrote.
In a recent interview with Gizmodo, James reflected that the new movie was about the 'basic kindness of human beings' and even offered a rebuttal to the more toxic side of the internet.
He continued: 'When I watch the trailer and the movie, we do have a sort of battered vision of Superman at the beginning. I think that is our country.
'I believe in the goodness of human beings. And I believe that most people in this country, despite their ideological beliefs [or] their politics, are doing their best to get by and trying to be good people, despite what it may seem like to the other side and what that other side might be.
'I think this movie is about that. It's about the basic kindness of human beings. And that it can be seen as uncool, and it can be seen as under siege when some of the darker voices are some of the louder voices.
'That's what happens when you let the internet seem like it's the world—when it's not the world. The world is us.'

Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding: From the date to the guest list... here's what you need to know

A relationship that has captivated the nation from the very start is soon set to reach the next level. Billionaire Amazon CEO and founder Jeff Bezos, 61, is set to wed former journalist Lauren Sanchez, 55, in just a few days. The couple, who have been together for over six years now, have been engaged since May 2023 and plan to finally wed. While the pair have been pretty public about much of their relationship, many details about their upcoming nuptials seems to be the opposite. Wedding planners have booked several different locations and plan to make a decision based on weather and potential protests that may occur - thus leaving many details a secret. Though the couple has tried to keep information about the wedding lowkey, there are a few things about the event that have become public knowledge. After all, it's difficult to hide the very public displays of wealth that a billionaire might take part in. From the mysterious wedding date to who will be in attendance to this wedding-of-the-century, here's everything you need to know about the upcoming Bezos-Sanchez wedding. When is Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding? As with everything else about this wedding, there has been a lot of mystery surrounding when exactly the couple would tie the knot. There were consistent reports that it would be in late July, but the exact date was largely kept from the public. It was previously thought that the wedding would take place sometime between June 24 and June 29. But sources have reported that the pair have solidified June 27 as the wedding date with smaller celebrations taking place both before and after. Where is it taking place? It's no secret that Bezos and Sanchez are set to be married in Venice, Italy - but there has been less concrete information about the exact venue of the wedding. The couple has reportedly rented out the entirety of San Giorgio - a prestigious island in Venice - for their guests for six days. It was initially thought that Bezos' multimillion dollar superyacht Koru (that he's been photographed spanking Sanchez on) would play a part in the festivities - but it is now believed that this will instead be moored near Croatia with the happy couple taking a helicopter to Venice. Who is on the guest list? While it's been rumored that there will be slightly fewer than 200 guests at the wedding, no official guest list has been released. But there are a few celebs you should expect to see at the luxurious Venice wedding. In a Bachelorette trip in May, Sanchez included Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and Eva Longoria in the festivities - and can likely expect the group to be present during the nuptials. Katy Perry was also included at the Bachelorette, but due to alleged arguments between her and husband Orlando Bloom, it's not confirmed if any of the couple will be in attendance. Based on the high-profile duo's documented friendships over the years, fans might also see guests including Jessica Alba, Elsa Marie Collins, Bill Gates, and perhaps even members of the Trump family. How much did the wedding cost? For someone who is quite literally a billionaire, it's hard to imagine what the wedding budget looks like. This is especially true considering that Sanchez's engagement ring alone reportedly cost $2.5 million. BRIDES reported that the couple was spending about $10 million on the wedding - about $50,000 per guest, though many others are guessing that the wedding will range anywhere from $7 million to $50 million. And it seems like the couple is circulating most of this money in Venice, as it was reported that 80 percent of the wedding provisions would come from local vendors. Alongside food, drink, and renting out an island, this money is likely to go toward 'entertainment' for the guests - although the specifics haven't been revealed. But each guest will be leaving with their own goodie bags - including special custom glassware by designer Laguna B. There were also reports that water taxis and gondolas had been put on hold for the wedding, and that all nine of the city's yacht ports were booked. Why are people protesting? Despite the buzz around the wedding, not everyone is excited for the Bezos-Sanchez event. In fact, there have been several demonstrations in Venice where locals are protesting Bezos' decision to have his wedding in their city. Protestors holding signs saying 'No Space for Bezos' came out to show their disapproval of Bezos' space tourism company. Many also called for the billionaire to pay more money in taxes. Others angrily pointed out Bezos' management - claiming that the billionaire pays his Amazon staff 'poverty wages' while being able to rent out an island for his own personal life. These protests are so prevalent that Bezos reportedly had to change his security plans for the wedding due to safety concerns.

Nafize said: 'I said, 'Oh my God, that's a giant nugget'. "The kids were shocked — they thought I was playing a prank. 'When they saw it, my two sons said, 'It's a golden nugget', thinking it was a special one and they'd won a prize.' But when the boys, aged ten and eight, realised it was dinner they began to fight over the freakish fried food until Nafize cut it in half to keep the peace. The married mum, of Bromley, South East London, added: 'My daughter was a bit scared of it, so she didn't eat any, but the boys said it tasted more like a chicken wing than a nugget.' Nafize reckoned it could be the first of its kind. One Brit did share a photo of a giant nugget to Reddit in 2022 – but critics said it looked more like two nuggets stuck together. Bezos hosts yacht foam party ahead of controversial Venice wedding

Jeff Bezos held a foam party on board his yacht as he prepared for his lavish wedding in Venice. The Amazon founder is due to marry Lauren Sanchez, the television journalist and author, in the World Heritage city this week. Protesters have vowed to disrupt the multi-million dollar event by jumping into canals and blocking the wedding party's water taxis. Dozens of private jets are expected to arrive at Venice's Marco Polo airport, bringing guests from as far afield as Los Angeles, Tanzania, London and Budapest. But before the celebrations, which are expected to last three days, Mr Bezos and his fiancee threw a raucous foam party on board the Koru, his $500 million (£371 million), three-masted superyacht. The yacht, which sails under a Cayman Islands flag, is anchored off an island on Croatia's Adriatic coast. It will arrive in the Venetian lagoon this week, accompanied by a support ship, the Abeona, another mega-vessel, equipped with a helicopter pad. Mr Bezos, 61, was photographed wearing swimming shorts, laughing and joking with his Ms Sanchez, 55, as a giant cannon blasted foam onto the deck of the Koru. Ms Sanchez wore a black-and-red string bikini as a group of friends were seen dancing in the foam. Younger guests were photographed driving golf balls into the sea from the deck of the huge vessel. Protesters are preparing a hostile reception for the couple and the 250 guests they are reported to have invited for their three-day nuptials. Various activist groups have coalesced under the slogan 'No Space for Bezos', a play on the billionaire's Blue Origin space exploration venture. They say that hosting the wedding is emblematic of how Venice has sold its soul to tourism at the expense of locals, who face acute housing shortages, the closure of basic services and the replacement of local businesses by trinket shops and trattorias. They will have to face-off, however, against a rival group that is taking the opposite stance – that the wedding will bring Italy and the city millions of euros in revenue and the Amazon founder should be welcomed. Rallying under the slogan 'Yes Venice Can', the group consists of Venetian hoteliers, restaurant owners and business associations. The group said in a statement: 'We cannot allow a noisy minority to discredit the image of this city in the eyes of the world.' 'We will put on the very best welcome for Bezos, as we always do for those who choose Venice as a holiday destination or as a backdrop to big events. Venice is a city that welcomes people – it doesn't turn them away.' It added that Venice had 'always been a crossroads of cultures, travellers, merchants and famous people'. More than 90 private jets are expected to fly into Venice this week, bringing Hollywood celebrities and tech tycoons from around the world. The aircraft will touch down at Marco Polo airport on the mainland, just across the lagoon from Venice. Flight documents show there is a Gulfstream G650ER coming in from Los Angeles that belongs to Kim Kardashian, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. A flight from Tanzania will bring Paul Tudor Jones II, a billionaire hedge fund manager, while a plane from Valencia will bring David Geffen, the film producer and record company executive. Kylie Jenner will reportedly arrive from Budapest, while Oprah Winfrey, the actor and chat show host, will fly in from New York City. Bill Gates, the Microsoft founder, will come from Brussels, closely followed by Lachlan Murdoch, one of the sons of Rupert Murdoch, who will travel from London. Lady Gaga and Elton John are also reported to be coming. Lady Gaga and Elton John are also reported to be planning attend. On Monday, activists staged a fresh protest against the wedding, unfurling a giant banner in St Mark's Square that read: 'If you can rent Venice for your wedding, you can pay more tax.' The demonstration was organised by Greenpeace and Everyone Hates Elon, a British campaign group. Clara Thompson, a Greenpeace campaigner, said: 'While Venice is sinking under the weight of the climate crisis, billionaires are partying like there is no tomorrow on their mega-yachts. 'This isn't just about one person – it's about changing the rules so no billionaire can dodge responsibility, anywhere. 'The real issue is a broken system that lets billionaires skip out on taxes while everyone else is left to foot the bill. That's why we need fair, inclusive rules – and they must be written at the UN.' A spokesperson from Everyone Hates Elon said: 'As governments talk about hard choices and struggle to fund public services, Jeff Bezos can afford to shut down half a city for days on end just to get married. 'Just weeks ago, he spent millions on an 11-minute space trip. If there was ever a sign that billionaires like Bezos should pay wealth taxes, it's this.'
