Dave Portnoy Speaks Publicly on His New Girlfriend
Dave Portnoy, the Barstool Sports founder, had a very public relationship with his ex-girlfriend, Silvana Mojica.
The Barstool Sports founder, who bought back his company from Penn National Gaming for $1, dated Mojica, a Florida State graduate, for a couple of years. Portnoy, 48, dated the Florida native from early 2021 until late 2023. The couple ultimately broke up because Portnoy said that he couldn't give her what she truly wanted, which seemed to be a marriage and possibly kids.
'We were dating for three years and I guess you get to a point where you think maybe there's a difference in what somebody wants and what the other person wants and without going into too much detail, I just didn't think I could give Silvana kind of what she deserves,' Portnoy explained on his "BFFs" podcast in 2023.
'She's so beautiful, she's funny, she's smart, she's all these things."
Portnoy has kept his dating life pretty private since his split from Mojica. However, he has been spotted at some public events, including NBA games, with a young woman named Camryn D'Aloia.
On a Monday episode of Barstool Sports' "Drop A Pin" podcast, Portnoy confirmed that they were dating.
Portnoy spoke about his incident in the Nantucket Harbor, in which his boat lost power.
"I thought about jumping off (the boat) at one point," Portnoy said.
"But your mom was on there, too?" a co-host of the podcast asked.
"No. Originally, it was myself and Cam, the girl that I'm dating. I was like, 'you have to get off and tell somebody, I have no communication.' So she, before we got too far, dove off and went home and called the harbor master."
Back in 2024, Portnoy and his apparent girlfriend were spotted at Game 4 of the Celtics vs. Heat NBA Playoff series.
'Very unfortunate set of circumstances, I'll say that,' the Barstool founder said of that moment. 'Because…well, I'm sensitive to the fact I'm six months, five-and-a-half months, out of a relationship, so being seen on a date or with a girl, was not what I was trying to do.'
He added that he had actually turned down courtside seats at the game, because he didn't want the attention.
'I turned down courtside [seats],' he explained, saying: 'I don't want to be pictured, I don't want to be on TV, I don't want any of it.' He eventually accepted two tickets from a Barstool employee, but no one knew exactly where the seats would be.
'We walk in, sit down, and I know instantly I have a problem. No idea where these tickets were. They are right behind the broadcaster. It was the two worst tickets—and there's the reaction, like, 'What the f--k.''
He continued.
'We sat down and it's like, 'We are f--ked.' That's the initial [reaction]. You can see us on the screen. I think I told her, 'Just don't panic, just don't panic.' You guys can appreciate that there is a level of notoriety that stinks when you're well-known. We just wanted to go to the Celtics game.'
At the time, it wasn't an official relationship, though it sounds like that has changed.
'I'm friends with this girl, we've hung out,' Portnoy explained in 2024. 'It's not boyfriend-girlfriend, obviously.'

Celtics' Unexpected Kristaps Porzingis Plan Amid Trade Rumors
Celtics' Unexpected Kristaps Porzingis Plan Amid Trade Rumors originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Boston Celtics could undergo a significant roster overhaul this offseason. Being over the NBA's second tax apron, several of their players on the current roster will likely not be available for the 2025-26 season. Among them is Kristaps Porzingis. Advertisement Because Porzingis is owed $30.7 million for this upcoming season, trading him could help them accomplish their primary offseason goal. Despite his issues with staying on the floor, he may interest trade partners because his contract will expire in 2026. In the last two years, Boston has seen how good they are when Porzingis is on the floor, but he has shown his availability can fluctuate. That makes him an easy trade candidate. On The Kevin O'Connor Show, Chris Mannix revealed that while Porzingis is on the block, he believes the Celtics would actually prefer things go a different way with him. Advertisement "Porzingis, I think, is available, but I think they would like to get Porzingis back long-term at a lower price point on his next deal," Mannix said. Given much of the reporting in recent weeks about Porzingis' availability on the trade market, Boston eyeing a potential new deal comes as a bit of a surprise. That said, health issues could help the Celtics keep him on the team at a much steeper discount than what he's been paid for the last two seasons in Boston. If the plan is to keep him around, that could have implications for the future of Jrue Holiday, Sam Hauser, and maybe even Payton Pritchard in Boston. If the plan is to keep Porzingis, they'll likely have to trade at least two of those three players to get under the NBA's second tax apron. Shams Charania Drops New Celtics Trade Update on Wednesday
Shams Charania Drops New Celtics Trade Update on Wednesday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Shams Charania of ESPN was on the "Pat McAfee Show" on Wednesday and the NBA insider dropped some new trade intel on the Boston Celtics. Advertisement The Celtics have to make trades this offseason to avoid having the most expensive roster in the NBA next season. Boston is focused on potentially trading Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis or Sam Hauser, but Charania added that teams are making big offers for Jaylen Brown and Derrick White. "The primary focus, from my understanding, with the Celtics' offseason has been Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Sam Hauser," Charania said. "Their trade markets. However, now are teams making big offers and calling about Jaylen Brown and Derrick White? One hundred percent." "The Celtics prefer not to trade them, from my understanding, but listen, if they get a big offer, they have to look at everything. And I think they're going to get, you know, offers on the three guys that they're focused on. They're going to get offers potentially on Derrick White and Jaylen Brown." He continued. Advertisement "And I think between now and the draft and free agency, they're going to evaluate what makes sense from a value perspective." The Celtics, who were sold for $6 billion, are a second apron team. Boston won the championship last year against the Dallas Mavericks but lost to the New York Knicks in this year's conference semifinals in six games. Tatum tore his right Achilles tendon in Game 4. According to Kevin O'Connor of Yahoo Sports, the Celtics are open to trading anybody on the roster except Tatum. How the Boston Celtics can benefit from Jaylen Brown's early surgery
How the Boston Celtics can benefit from Jaylen Brown's early surgery On Wednesday, June 11, the Boston Celtics reported that Jaylen Brown had undergone arthroscopic surgery on his right knee via a press release. The Boston Celtics All-Star was reportedly dealing with a partially torn meniscus. Fortunately, the release noted that Brown should be fully recovered in time for the team's preseason training camp later this year. Brown's availability is undoubtedly a critical issue for the Celtics. With Jayson Tatum ruled out of the rotation due to an Achilles tendon tear, Brown will likely assume a leading role for the franchise. As such, his decision to undergo surgery so early in the summer is encouraging, as it could allow him to be at his best throughout the 2025-26 campaign. During a recent episode of the "Taylor Talks Celtics" podcast, hosts Adam Taylor and Billy Calabrese discussed Brown's potential role next season and why surgery could propel him to an All-NBA-level season. The duo also explored the changes he could see in his role and why his point-of-attack defense will be a key factor in the team's chances of success.
