, Germany's Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, and the German Federal Enterprise for International Cooperation.
Mount Abu is around 494 km from Jaipur, the state capital.

"What makes the plant remarkable is that nearly 90 per cent of its components, including all 770 parabolic reflective dishes, were designed and manufactured in India by the Brahma Kumaris' own team of engineers. Only the solar-grade mirrors were imported from the United States," a spokesperson of the Brahma Kumaris in Sirohi district said.
He said that the parabolic reflectors are designed to mimic the movement of a sunflower, tracking the sun's path across the sky to maximise energy capture.
Each reflector spans around 600 square feet, about the size of a typical two-bedroom apartment, and directs sunlight onto a fixed focus box, where water is converted into steam.
This steam is then used to generate electricity and even cook meals in the on-site kitchen.
"The integration of thermal storage systems allows the plant to produce electricity for 24 hours, with a current output of nearly 16,000 units of power daily, half of which is consumed by the Brahma Kumaris campus," he said.
The genesis of the solar plant can be traced back to 1990, when German scientist Wolfgang Scheffler introduced a miniature version of the technology in India. His idea was to help local tribal communities cook without wood by harnessing solar steam, the spokesperson said.
Inspired by his model, local engineers and researchers expanded the concept into a fully operational power station.
With over Rs 80 crore invested and five years of construction, the plant stands today as a working model of sustainable and decentralised energy production.
The spokesperson said researchers and students from across the world visit the site every year to study its operations.
The project is hailed for being modular, cost-effective, and built with locally available materials.
With easy maintenance and reliable long-term performance, experts believe it can be replicated in other parts of India that receive abundant sunlight.
What makes this plant even more significant is its alignment with India's growing ambition to shift towards green energy, the spokesperson added.

Wednesday's launch came weeks after Nasa and Isro successfully collaborated on the Axiom-4 mission, under which Indian astronaut Shubanshu Shukla was sent to the International Space Station for microgravity experiments. Congratulating Isro and Nasa, space minister Jitendra Singh called the NISAR mission a 'game changer in precise management of disasters'. In a post on X, he said: 'NISAR's capacity to penetrate through fogs, dense clouds, ice layers, etc., makes it a pathbreaking enabler for the aviation and shipping sectors. Before 2014, US and India had collaborated on a slew of space missions, including the Chandrayaan-1 mission, under which saw Nasa sent its payload (Moon Mineralogy Mapper) on board Isro's spacecraft for the moon mission, which played a crucial role in finding water on Moon. But the NISAR programme is said to be the first big-ticket ($1.5 billion) satellite mission invested in by both sides. Nasa has contributed L-Band SAR, a high-rate telecommunication subsystem, GPS receivers and a deployable 12-metre unfurlable antenna. Isro, on its part, has provided S-Band SAR payload, the spacecraft bus to accommodate both payloads, GSLV-F16 launch vehicle and all associated launch services.

Agency: PTI Last Updated: Chandigarh, Jul 30 (PTI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Wednesday said moral education for children is a must to make India a developed nation. He said that students from classes 10 to 12 in the state have been distributed five lakh tablets, nearly 40,000 classrooms have been equipped with digital boards, and 1,201 IT labs have been set up. Saini was addressing the Smart Class Expansion Programme, organised by the Sampark Foundation and the Education Department in Ladwa, Kurukshetra district. Earlier, Saini launched a Smart TV Education Project from Ladwa. The Sampark Foundation has provided Sampark TV Boxes in 7,000 state schools, he said. The package includes digital versions of Haryana board textbooks, videos, worksheets, and assessment modules. A total of 1,485 schools have been equipped with LED TVs, the chief minister said. As many as 132 schools of Ladwa and Babain blocks have been developed as 'smart classes' with such TVs, he said. Saini said that education is not just confined to bookish knowledge but is a powerful medium that shapes the future of individuals, society, and the nation. He said Atal Tinkering Labs have been set up in all 22 districts of the state, and more than 5,000 schools have been provided with Wi-Fi connectivity. Sampark Foundation founder Vineet Nayar said his foundation aims to create curiosity for learning among children and focus on the application of knowledge. At another event in Ladwa, Saini said the government has set a target to install solar panels on one lakh houses this year. He said a team of officers will visit every village for the project under the Pradhan Mantri Muft Bijli Yojana. Families with an annual income below Rs 1.80 lakh will be provided with a 2 kW solar panel under the scheme. Out of the total cost, Rs 70,000 will be borne by the central government and the remaining by the state government, he said. He also said households with solar panels will not have to pay any electricity bills. Saini also said a sum of Rs 1,334 crore has been transferred to the accounts of farmers who suffered damage to their crops due to the recent rain.
