Thorne Avenue in Newbridge to be shut for over a month
Thorne Avenue is closed from between its junction with North Road and property number 13 Thorne Avenue.
The closure, requested by Wales & West Utilities, is expected to last until July 11.
Caerphilly County Borough Council issued the order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
While motorists will be prohibited from using Thorne Avenue, pedestrian, emergency services, and resident access will be maintained where possible.
The order will not apply to vehicles being used in an emergency for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes.
Alternative routes for motorists have been suggested via North Road, Park Hill, and Alexandra Place.
The council advised that the order will last for a maximum of 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is sooner.

Lagonda classic car passenger injured in crash near Hereford

Monmouthshire road to close for BT pole works this month
Old Abergavenny Road in Pencroesoped will be shut from its junction with Lapstone Road to Pen-Croes-oped Road on June 17. Monmouthshire County Council announced the closure, which will be in effect from 9.30am to 3.30pm. The council said the closure is necessary to allow the works to take place safely. While the order technically allows for the closure to last up to 18 months, it is expected to reopen on the same day. During the closure, a signed diversionary route will be in operation via the A4042 and vice versa. Access will still be provided to properties on the affected section of the road. A Monmouthshire County Council spokesperson said: "The order is necessary for BT poling works to take place in a safe manner at the location. "Reasonable access will be maintained for properties fronting the affected lengths of road during the period of the closure." The council has also warned that anyone who contravenes a restriction or prohibition imposed under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 shall be "guilty of an offence." The notification was signed off by Carl Touhig, head of neighbourhood services. All temporary traffic regulation orders are displayed on yellow notices at the side of the road.
