Teens of the Concho Valley: Celebrations and competitions
Lake View High School held its prom on Saturday, May 3. Student reporters interviewed attendees, including the prom's king, queen, prince and princess, learning from them that several students enjoyed the event.
Mother's Day fell on Sunday, May 11, this year, and to help students celebrate, members of the school's Spanish Club sold handcrafted roses. Each rose cost $10, with all proceeds being put toward the club's community events for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year and teacher appreciation gifts.
Lake View High School seniors are preparing for their final exams. Student reporters encouraged seniors to give extra effort when taking the finals, with one reporter stating that the exams 'significantly impact' the test-taker's final grade point average and college prospects.
Students are also preparing for the upcoming juniors versus seniors volleyball tournament happening on Friday, May 16, which sees junior and senior players assemble teams to compete against one another throughout the school day. The last junior team and senior team standing will play against each other in a championship game.
With many seniors set to graduate soon, student reporters interviewed members of the graduating class to learn what their favorite memories in high school were.

Marla Maples, Donald Trump: About their 'wedding of the year' and who was on the guest list
In 1993, Marla Maples' marriage ceremony was dubbed the "wedding of the year." Two months after welcoming Tiffany Trump, her only child with ex-husband President Donald Trump, in October of that year, Maples and the billionaire were married at the Plaza Hotel in New York City in front of hundreds of guests, politicians, TV personalities and celebrities. It was the second marriage for Donald Trump, who has been married to first lady Melania Trump since 2005, and the only marriage for Maples. Their daughter, Tiffany Trump, welcomed a baby boy with her billionaire husband Michael Boulos just after Mother's Day this year. For decades, Food Network chef Rachael Ray has warmed America's hearts with her budget meals and culinary catch phrases like 'yum-o' and 'delish.' But now, worried fans are calling for a temperature check over the chef's bizarre behavior. 'People have been concerned about her for the past couple of years,' a TV insider told The Post, following reports she was slurring her speech in a cooking video recently, leading worried fans to question in Ray is alright.
