On Tuesday, a top officer of the Indian armed forces briefed a group of foreign defence attaches on the "successful conduct" of Operation Sindoor, which it said had established "new normals in India-Pakistan relations," highlighting the country's strength and national resolve through military superiority in "new-age warfare." According to officials, during the nearly 30-minute closed-door briefing held in the afternoon at the Manekshaw Centre in Delhi Cantonment by Director General, Defence Intelligence Agency, Lt Gen D S Rana, the "relentless anti-India misinformation campaign conducted by the adversary and its ramifications on regional peace and stability" was also highlighted. According to reports, the briefing was attended by defence attaches from numerous large nations that are members of various international organisations, as well as some Islamic countries. Defence attaches from Russia, Sweden, Nepal, the Philippines, and Egypt, among others, who are stationed at their respective embassies in India, also participated.
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar's security has been increased in light of India-Pakistani tensions. According to reports, a bulletproof car was added to his Z category detail, which is managed by the CRPF.
Pakistan on Tuesday declared a staff member of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad persona non grata, accusing the official of engaging in activities 'incompatible' with his diplomatic status.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the individual had been instructed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours.
'The Government of Pakistan has declared a staff member of the Indian High Commission, Islamabad, persona non grata for engaging in activities incompatible with his privileged status,' the statement read.
The Indian Charge d'Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office and issued a formal démarche conveying this decision.
Earlier the same day, India expelled an official from the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi, also for allegedly engaging in espionage. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the Pakistani official was involved in activities not in keeping with his diplomatic role, and had likewise been given 24 hours to depart.
On Tuesday, Lieutenant General D.S. Rana, Director General of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), briefed foreign defence attachés from 70 countries on the successful completion of Operation Sindoor—a recent military mission that has notably shifted the India–Pakistan security dynamic.
General Rana outlined the operation's strategic planning and the selection of targets linked to terrorism. He praised the Indian Armed Forces for their precise, coordinated, and timely multi-domain response.
The operation demonstrated the impact of indigenous kinetic force multipliers and highlighted India's technological advantage in non-kinetic areas such as space, cyber, and electronic warfare.
The briefing also touched on ongoing anti-India disinformation campaigns from hostile actors. General Rana stressed India's swift, unified, Whole-of-Nation approach to countering such narratives and protecting regional stability.
