Auburn infielder Eric Snow selected by Blue Jays in 6th round of the 2025 MLB draft

Snow is the second Tiger to be taken in this year's draft after being selected in the 6th round by the Toronto Blue Jays. Another Auburn Tiger is headed to the American League East. Infielder Eric Snow is the latest Tiger to be selected in the 2025 MLB draft, going No. 172 overall to the Toronto Blue Jays in the 6th round. Snow is the first Tiger taken in day two of the draft after Ike Irish became the latest first round pick from Auburn on Sunday. Snow played just one season in Auburn, but made a quick impact. Snow divided his time between shortstop and third base in 2025 after transferring in from South Florida, and fielded at a 0.937 clip after committing just 10 errors in 187 fielding opportunities. At the plate, hit .307 with 66 hits, 14 doubles, eight home runs, and 34 RBI. Snow is the eighth player in Auburn history to be drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays organization, joining the likes of Gabe Gross, Josh Bell, and Josh Palacios. The MLB draft continues Monday with rounds 4-20, leading up to the MLB Home Run Derby on Monday night. LSU baseball's Daniel Dickinson picked in 6th round. Where is the star's next stop?

LSU baseball infielder Daniel Dickinson was selected at No. 185 overall by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday in the third round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Dickinson is the first Tiger off the board on day two of the draft. He follows former teammates Kade Anderson, Chase Shores, Ethan Frey and Anthony Eyanson, all of whom heard their names called on Sunday. lists Dickinson as the draft's No. 80 prospect. He ascended on scouts' lists by establishing himself as LSU's everyday second baseman in his first year of Power Four baseball. Following two seasons at Utah Valley, Dickinson batted .315 with 75 hits and 49 RBI. Dickinson likely slots into professional ball as a second baseman. He made just four errors all season. Scouts liked his control of the strike zone but noted the transition to wood bats at the professional level as a cause for concern. The scouting report also noted that Dickinson struggled at shortstop during fall practice with LSU. Dickinson was a key cog in the LSU lineup as the Tigers won their second College World Series in three years. He was consistent vs SEC pitching even as other bats in the Tigers lineup struggled. LSU will miss Dickinson's veteran presence in the middle of the infield, but LSU is in good hands with the return of shortstop Steven Milam.

LSU baseball star Ethan Frey likely leaving LSU after third round draft selection

It was a busy night for LSU baseball as the first three rounds of the MLB Draft took place on Sunday night. Kade Anderson was the first Tiger off the board, going No. 3 overall to the Seattle Mariners. Pitchers Chase Shores and Anthony Eyanson were also picked. The only LSU hitter to come off the board was Ethan Frey. Entering the draft, some thought Frey had a chance to return to LSU for his senior season, but that appears unlikely now, as Frey was picked No. 95 overall by the Houston Astros. If an MLB org drafts a player in the first three rounds, it signals confidence in that player turning pro. Teams don't want to waste a premium draft slot on a player who will return to college. Frey was one of the SEC's best hitters in 2025 and a key piece of LSU's College World Series run. Frey finished the year with 13 home runs and a 1.061 OPS. He added 15 doubles and a triple. Frey stands at 6-foot-6. His power has elite upside and runs well for someone his size. The Astros have plenty of tools to work with. Frey's pick is a blow to LSU's 2026 lineup. Frey's return was always far from a given, but LSU had a chance to return a hitter with SEC player of the year potential. Here's what scouting report had to say about Frey: "One of the more imposing hitters in college baseball at 6-foot-6 and 225 pounds, Frey is built to hit for power. He's strong and has a quick right-handed stroke to go with an affinity to driving the ball in the air, a combination that allows him to hit balls out of any part of the park. While he lacks a long track record, he's a patient hitter who has had success this year against both lefties and righties and all types of pitches." Frey served as LSU's designated hitter, but he's athletic enough to take up a position in the field. Look for the Astros to give Frey a chance in the outfield or at first base.
