Govinda considered this actor as his guru, signed movies after hearing his name, wife Sunita Ahuja used to keep his photo in their room, his name is…
Govinda is one of the celebrated stars in Bollywood, with effortless comic timing, dazzling dance moves, and a smile that has left an imprint on viewers' hearts. Fondly known as 'Chi Chi' by his fans and the industry, Govinda made his debut in 1986 with the film Ilzaam, which turned out to be a hit. Soon, Govinda became a household name. Throughout the years, Govinda has made a name for himself in the industry and despite his last hit film being in 2009, fans still love to watch him on screen. However, do you know that Govinda considered an actor as his Guru and signed movies after listening to his name?
Yes, you read that right! Govinda has always been an admirer of veteran actor Dharmendra and often chose films with titles similar to Dharmendra's ('Dharam ji'), claims NDTV Hindi. However, he was very often criticised for this.
As per NDTV, Govinda in an interview opened up on the same and said, 'It all started with Shola Aur Shabnam, which was a hit and after that his (Dharam ji's) film was again named Aankhen. This went on for a long time, I believe that whether a film is a hit or a flop is decided by the title of the film.' Hence, Govinda often considered Dharmendra a big star. Not just that, Govinda's wife Sunita used to keep Dharmendra's photos in her room.
Govinda first worked with Dharmendra in the 1987 film Dadagiri. After this, the pair appeared in Paap Ko Jalakar Bhaag Kar Dunga, Loha, Zulm Hukumat, Rakhwale, Kaun Kare Qurbani, Sachchai Ki Taaqat, and Lathi. Govinda has worked in more than 130 films in his career so far and Dharmendra has appeared in more than 200 films in his six-decade-long career.
Meanwhile, Govinda was last seen in Rangeela Raja (2019), which flopped badly. On the other hand, Dharmendra was last seen in Karan Johar's film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani.

Hema Malini was set to marry this man secretly despite being in a relationship with Dharmendra, wedding was stopped at last minute after Sholay actor…
Dharmendra and Hema Malini's relationship always captured the public glare. The two had a controversial affair which made headlines. Dharmendra tied the knot when the actor was already married and had two kids. However, do you know that Dharmendra and Hema Malini's love story was not just theirs? It was a love triangle. Yes, the story behind the love triangle is that since Dharmendra was already a married man, Hema's parents were never in favour of their relationship. They tried every possible attempt to get Hema away from Dharmendra. In the same scenario, Hema Malini's wedding was fixed with a Bollywood superstar of that time. Hema's parents wanted her to marry Jeetendra. During this time, Jeetendra was already dating his childhood friend and cabin crew Shobha Sippy, and he knew that Hema had affection for Dharmendra. Despite knowing all this, Jeetendra said yes to the proposal. According to a report in Indian Express, a close friend of Jeetendra has mentioned this incident in Ram Kamal Mukherjee's book Beyond the Dream Girl. As per the book, Jeetendra never wanted to marry Hema, but it was because of his family that he said yes. The families fixed Hema and Jeetendra's wedding in a temple in Chennai. However, things went haywire when Dharmendra got to know about the secret wedding. Without any delay, he reached Chennai and hindered the wedding. Drunk, Dharmendra created a huge ruckus, and Hema's father lost his cool. He told the actor, 'You are married, get out of my daughter's life.' However, Dharmendra flatly refused to go; rather, he asked for permission to talk to Hema Malini alone. Hema's father allowed her to talk to Dharmendra alone for some time. After this, when Hema came back after talking to Dharmendra, she asked her father for some time to get married. This made Jeetendra's family extremely angry. Out of rage, the Farz actor's parents asked Hema to answer a yes or no about the wedding. Under pressure, Hema flatly refused. Upon hearing this, Jeetu's family left in anger. After this entire controversy, Dharmendra did not marry Hema on the same day, but they got married in 1980. After marriage, Hema gave birth to two lovely daughters – Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.

Sooraj Pancholi lashes out at his 'cowardly' peers, says Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Dharmendra fought for their people
After years away from the limelight, Sooraj Pancholi returned to the silver screen with the historical action film Kesari Veer . While the film marked a professional comeback, it also became the backdrop for Sooraj to open up about a deeper concern—one that extends beyond cinema: the growing isolation among today's generation of a candid conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Sooraj shared his thoughts on the noticeable shift in camaraderie within the industry. He reflected on a recent act of solidarity when Tiger Shroff attended the premiere of Kesari Veer just after a simple phone call. It struck a chord with Sooraj, reminding him of a bygone era when friendships in the film world were built on loyalty and mutual respect, not just professional convenience. He attributed the bond to the legacy of their fathers, who once belonged to a close-knit circle that genuinely stood by each other during highs and that past to the present, Sooraj observed a stark contrast. He believes that today's actors have become more cautious and self-protective. In earlier times, he recalled, whether it was an accident, a controversy, or a personal loss, people in the industry would show up without hesitation. The fraternity once united even against the media during protests, standing as a single voice. But such unity, he feels, has all but disappeared. Fear of involvement, reputational risk, and the desire to avoid confrontation have replaced courage and loyalty. According to him, many now shy away from speaking up or showing support unless there's visibility attached to the fondly remembered the older generation who embodied this spirit—actors like Jackie Shroff, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, and his own father, Aditya Pancholi. These men, he felt, shared a silent code of brotherhood that made them dependable. Legends like Mithun Chakraborty and Dharmendra were also symbols of this unity; stories of Dharmendra standing up for his peers during tough times left a lasting impression on Sooraj. He lamented that such organic relationships and protective instincts seem almost extinct also touched upon how today's displays of support often seem calculated. People rally around someone only when it suits the public image—when the cameras are watching or the social stakes are high. But genuine concern, when unaccompanied by media attention, is a a separate conversation, Sooraj opened up about the dynamics of his own family, especially the strength of his mother, veteran actress Zarina Wahab. He credited her as the anchor of the household, someone who endured immense hardships without ever showing vulnerability. She began working at a young age and built a life entirely on her own terms. Despite having the financial and emotional means to walk away during difficult times, she chose to stay. Sooraj acknowledged that her choices were deeply personal, shaped by her own understanding with his father, and he expressed his respect without Pancholi began his acting career in 2015 with the film Hero, where he starred opposite Athiya Shetty, the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty. After a significant hiatus, he returned to the big screen with the historical action drama Kesari Veer. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Suniel Shetty, Vivek Oberoi, and Barkha Bisht, among others.
