James Norton cuts a stylish figure in a grey textured suit as he joins chic Emily Beecham at the global premiere of their new period drama King & Conqueror in London

James Norton cut a dapper figure as he joined his elegant co-star Emily Beecham at the global premiere of their new drama series King & Conqueror in London on Thursday. The actor, 40, turned heads in a grey textured suit worn over a matching shirt, completing the look with smart black shoes and a black belt. Meanwhile Emily, 41, opted for a mint-green shirt paired with a black A-line midi skirt. She elevated the ensemble with green suede heels and sheer black socks. The duo were joined on the red carpet by their co-stars and production crew including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Geoff Bell, and Kitty Kaletsky. The cast appeared in high spirits as they posed for cameras before heading inside for the star-studded event. The actor, 40, turned heads in a grey textured suit worn over a matching shirt, completing the look with smart black shoes and a black belt Earlier in the day, the cast gathered at the Corinthia in the city for a photocall ahead of the main event. The upcoming eight-part series is set to hit screens on August 24, and tells the story of the Battle of Hastings, one of the most famous in English history. On October 14, 1066, William, Duke of Normandy, defeated England's Saxon army, killed King Harold II and seized the throne - becoming William the Conqueror. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two allies who were forced to turn on each other after they found out that King Edward the Confessor had promised both of them the crown. In King & Conqueror, James plays Harold of Wessex and Nikolaj portrays William the Conqueror. The trailer shows snippets of gripping drama, and offers a glimpse of the deft exploration of the two men. Emily plays Edith Swanneck who was one of the wealthiest magnates in England before the battle, and may have been Harold's first wife. William the Conqueror's wife, Matilda of Flanders, is played by Clemence Poesy. He also had a snap with Geoff Bell, who looked dapper at the event Indy Lewis stunned in a green satin dress at the premiere Luther Ford was also in attendance at his premiere Other stars in the series include Eddie Marsan as King Edward, Juliet Stevenson as Lady Emma, Jean-Marc Barr as King Henry and Luther Ford as Tostig. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is known for his role as Jamie Lannister, Knight of the Kingsguard, in the hit TV series Game Of Thrones. He also starred in the 2013 horror Mama, The Other Woman, Shot Caller and Nightwatch. Meanwhile James Norton played the notorious criminal Tommy Lee Royce in British crime drama Happy Valley. Other TV shows and films he has starred in include Grantchester, War & Peace and McMafia. It was previously revealed that the makers of the programme shunned England and shot all of its King & Conqueror scenes in Iceland. They used the unlikely locations of a campsite and nature reserve in Iceland, with Film In Iceland, the country's film commission, offering the production generous financial incentives. Productions that shoot in the country can claim a rebate of up to 35 per cent of total costs. Historians accept that the battle could not be filmed there because it was wooded then, but now comprises fields and hedgerows. However, they say that it could have been filmed in an area such as the New Forest. Instead, producers – who include Norton – chose Hjallaflatir, a campsite in the Icelandic nature reserve of Heiomork. The campsite's rocky appearance could hardly look more different to the terrain of the historic battlefield, both now and in the 11th century. From a series spokesperson: 'King & Conqueror is set across multiple European territories – including Normandy, France, Flanders and Norway, alongside England. Iceland was chosen for a multitude of reasons including its variety of landscapes that can represent these different parts of Europe from 1,000 years ago.'

Details emerge from Hulk Hogan's funeral

By The friends and family of Hulk Hogan, who gathered in Florida for his funeral, have said the service was a fitting tribute to one of the all-time wrestling greats. Mourners gathered for the private service at Indian Rocks Baptist Church in Clearwater, which Hogan - real name Terry Bollea - attended regularly during the latter years of his life to pray. Triple H, Kid Rock and Ric Flair were among the notable attendees paying their respects to Bollea and Flair, who himself has been fighting skin cancer recently, paid a heartfelt tribute to his old friend after the service. 'Today was beautiful and I know you have loved having all your favorite people together, celebrating you! We love you big dawg, forever and always,' she wrote. In a separate Facebook message, she added: 'I just wanted to say thank you to every friend, fan & Hulkamaniac who has sent a message or text since Terry passed. 'I still haven't been able to respond to everyone but i want yall to know i love you and your kind words bring us up when we are having a rough day. Terry would want each and every one of us to put a smile on our faces and be the reason someone else smiles. Let's continue his kindness in a world that needs a little love.' Dee Jay Silver, a close friend of the wrestler, tried to remember Hogan's humor, telling friends: 'I know Hulk Hogan is looking down laughing at all of us trying to tie our neckties today.' The mayor of Clearwater, the city where Bollea lived before his death, shared a picture from the service that showed an image of Hogan alongside Donald Trump in the background. ' Thank you to the Bollea family and Indian Rocks Baptist Churchfor remembering 'Hulk Hogan' tonight as we knew him in Clearwater,' Bruce Rector wrote. 'More than a wrestling star and worldwide celebrity but also a neighbor, friend, brother in Christ and just Terry.' A friend of the Hogan family, Chris Vasilakis, shared a picture with Nick and wife Tana alongside Kid Rock and Theo Von. 'The man was much larger in life than his public persona,' Vasilakis wrote. 'One thing that made him special was always being around good people with good hearts. 'He had a knack for attracting amazing people and keeping them close. Today was a was a celebration of his life and a melting pot of good hearts.' After the service, many of the WWE icon's friends went to Hogan's Hangout, a bar in Clearwater that celebrates the wrestler. President Trump, who Hogan campaigned for at Madison Square Garden last October before the election, did not attend. But he shared a picture of him arm wrestling his old friend on Instagram and wrote: 'They are having the "Hulkster's" funeral today, and I thought everybody would enjoy seeing this picture.' Hogan's estranged daughter, Brooke, meanwhile, held a personal tribute to her late dad. 'My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn't want one,' Brooke, 37, explained on Instagram Tuesday evening. 'And although I know people grieve in many ways - and I'm so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best way I knew way that made me feel the closest to him. The only thing missing today was him in is pop up lawn chair watching the waves... and the sunset.' Alongside her emotional caption, the TV personality, who welcomed twins - a boy and a girl - wither her husband, ex-NHL player Steven Oleksy in January, shared a series of touching photos of the young family.

Survive hot days with mum's ‘best sun cream hack EVER' that promises no tears thanks to an unexpected kitchen essential

A SAVVY mum has shared a 'genius' trick to guarantee there are no tears when applying sun cream. Not only does it make the process much more fun for youngsters, but if your little one hates having sun cream applied, then you'll need to check this out. 2 2 With this simple tip, which has been hailed the 'best sun cream hack ever,' you'll need an unexpected kitchen essential. Posting on social media, Gemma McCartan, a mum-of-two and full-time content creator from the UK, gave her followers a close-up look at her trick, which involves using spoons when applying spray sun cream. Alongside her short video, the influencer beamed: 'The best sun cream hack for kids EVER.' She then said: 'To the mum who posted this, I love you.' Instead of wrestling her son Max to close his eyes so she could apply the spray sun cream to his face, the youngster instead put two spoons over his eyes. Gemma was then able to spray his face with sun cream, without it getting in his eyes and causing any tears. Moments after, the woman's daughter then did the same, yet again ensuring a seamless application with no irritation of the eyes, whilst at the same time, making the often agonising process much more exciting. Thrilled with her hack, Gemma later wrote: 'It's been a game changer.' Clearly beaming with the simple trick, the mother added: 'It's made my day, I had the kids crying on holiday until we found this hack.' Gemma's TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ gemmamccartan, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 200,800 views. Kelsey Parker mum-shamed for admitting she doesn't put suncream on her kids Not only this, but it's also amassed 2,074 likes and 138 comments. Parents were impressed with the 'genius' trick and many thought it was a 'great' idea. One person said: 'What a brilliant idea.' Another added: 'That is genius.' Whilst a third commented: 'Not only practical, it gives the kids a feeling of control over what's about to happen, so they are more willing to cooperate. Great idea.' Meanwhile, someone else gushed: 'Best idea ever for sun cream.' The importance of sun cream in your skincare routine Dermatologist and skincare enthusiast Andrea Suarez - known as Dr Dray - revealed why you should wear suncream. The one thing you can do that will make the biggest difference - and this matters for all ages - is protecting your skin from the sun, Andrea stressed. "The vast majority of external aging is due to exposure to ultraviolet radiation," she continued, not because you're "not using some jazzy serum or layering 90 different things on your face everyday". "If you're not doing in your 20s, get on that now." But she said the use of sun cream alone doesn't go far enough. Andrea urged that you also wear sun-protective clothing like broad-brimmed hats and long sleeves, on top of not staying out too long in the sun. Doing this over your lifetime - and all year, not just during the summer or on sunny days - "will reduce the visible signs of photoageing", Andrea said. Those are wrinkles, muddled pigmentation and sagging skin. However, at the same time, one user wrote: 'Should have cream on eyelids too as they can burn, I know it stings if it gets in eyes but it's such a sensitive area so best to have full coverage.' To this, Gemma wrote back and explained: 'Yes but my son has allergies so this is amazing.' Not only this, but another person asked: 'Won't they get a burnt line where the handles are?' In response, Gemma confirmed that instead of spraying the sun cream on her youngster's eyelids, after the fun part, she then uses her finger for a more controlled application, as she acknowledged: "I use my finger to do the sides and lids.'
