Swindon Town's manager, Ian Holloway went under the knife recently to remove a cancerous growth beneath his eye.
Holloway was still on the touchline for Town's final game of the season, a 1-1 draw with MK Dons, despite the recent surgery.
Many fans may have noticed the scarring on the right side of his face where the growth was removed, which he admitted makes him look like he "had a fight with a bear".
In an interview with The Sun, the Swindon manager opened up about his battles with skin cancer, saying: "I am getting all sorts of bit and pieces falling off me.
"You can see it, but I used to go out in the sun, I get skin cancer problems.
"My advice to anybody is please don't do it. Don't let your kids get burnt. Don't go out there if you've got fair skin like I have.
"Put [Factor] 50 on, keep covered, because I can't do anything about these bits, and I've got a huge scar on the right-hand side of my face now.
"Luckily they cut it out and they're sending it off to see. There'll probably be more bits of me in a jar somewhere than there is sat here."
Fortunately, Holloway was there to see out his side's season, and will be hoping to build on the progress the club has made on the pitch going into next season.
When Holloway was first appointed as the new main man in the dugout in October 2024, Swindon were sitting just above the drop zone in 22nd place, four points being the gap.
In his first full game as manager, he led the Robins to a 2-1 win at the County Ground against Colchester in the FA Cup first round.
Fast forward to May and Holloway turned the team from relegation fodder to play-off hopefuls.
Although, they fell short and finished in mid-table, Holloway impressed as the boss and made football exciting for fans again at the County Ground.
After the final game, Swindon Town's X account posted photos of Holloway with the caption: "Speedy recovery, Gaffer".
Fans showed their support in the replies with one account saying, "All the best Ollie, Still remember as a kid when I would wait for my mate at the King George and you would always give us a thumbs up on matchdays when you drove past & when you offered us a lift to the ground".
Another said: "As a Donny fan, just wanted to wish Ollie all the best, thought he did an incredible job last season."

Echeverri completes loan move to Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester City midfielder Claudio Echeverri has joined Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan deal. The Argentine teenager, 19, made three appearances for City last season, including his debut as a substitute in the FA Cup final defeat by Crystal Palace. He scored his first City goal in the 6-0 thrashing of UAE side Al-Ain at the Club World Cup in June. City signed Echeverri from River Plate for £12.5m in January 2024, but the player will now continue his development in Germany under ex-Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag. "It's fantastic for me to take the next steps with the 2024 champions of Germany now in the Bundesliga and the Champions League," said Echeverri, who will wear the number nine shirt. "I want to get a lot of minutes on the pitch and develop into an even better player week by week. A lot of young players have made it to the top of the game here at Bayer Leverkusen. "I want to take that path in the coming season and play my part in helping Bayer achieve great things."

The 19-year-old Argentine midfielder, widely tipped as one of Manchester City's brightest prospects, heads to the Bundesliga to pick up more first-team minutes. Update on future of County Ground redevelopment

Swindon Town and the supporters' trust have been in discussions over a new plan for the redevelopment of the Nigel Eady County Ground. In June, TrustSTFC announced that plans to redevelop the Don Rogers Stand had been voted against by their members, with those in favour not reaching the 75 per cent threshold required for assent, with 478 votes cast in favour and 477 against. Swindon had unveiled their new plans in April, which would have seen the Don Rogers Stand given a new golden façade, updated facilities for supporters in the concourse, a new café/bar area, new hospitality and conferencing facilities, and glass-fronted corporate boxes. There has been no update on progress since the day the vote was announced on June 13, with Swindon issuing a statement saying they would 'take a moment to reflect on the result and review in due course.' READ MORE: Swindon Town fans vote against County Ground redevelopment Swindon Town issue statement after result of stadium vote Swindon Town stadium vote must become motivation for club Neil Hutchings, Chair of TrustSTFC, said after the vote: 'We remain committed and available to work with the club on the reasons that have led us to where we are today.' The Adver is aware that informal discussions have taken place among members of the Joint Venture board, which includes representatives from the club, TrustSTFC, and Nigel Eady trustees, over the summer. A formal board meeting was held in July to discuss the key takeaways from the initial vote and develop a strategy for the next steps, and has since been followed up. TrustSTFC board member Nick Coote wrote in the trust's programme column for the home match against Barnet about the next steps for the redevelopment following this meeting. In this, he discussed the feedback that had been included as a rationale for why members voted as they did on the proposal, which had been collated into six key reasons why the plans did not pass. These were: the master plan needed to be better explained so fans understood why the Don Rogers Stand was the starting point; detailed proposals to improve all concourses in the initial plan; explain how the redevelopment would be managed via a legal agreement to control changes and variations; a more detailed financing scheme; concerns around the business plan which was created; and improving communication around this project and all aspects of the club. Coote also confirmed that a further update surrounding the redevelopment would be forthcoming soon, following the board meeting, which has already taken place.
