Last week, the Cowboys made the expected move to start Milton over Prescott, who was sidelined in street clothes for the first week of the preseason. As Milton was in the midst of his matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, the young veteran ended up suffering a shoulder injury late in the game. He likely didn't have a ton of reps left, but the Cowboys pulled him out prematurely. Panthers CB Jaycee Horn likely out vs. Texans on Saturday

The Carolina Panthers won't have their No. 1 cornerback on the field in Houston this weekend. After this morning's joint practice with the Houston Texans, head coach Dave Canales told reporters that Jaycee Horn will be held out from Saturday's preseason contest. Horn is still dealing with a thumb injury he sustained in a car accident from last Wednesday. Horn was asked about his thumb following Tuesday's outing of training camp, where caught balls during individual work using just one (completely healthy) hand. "I'm good," he stated. "Just had to get some stitches. When I get them out, I'll be ready to roll." The 2024 Pro Bowler, obviously, did not dress for Carolina's preseason opener last Friday. Thursday's session also saw Horn participate in a limited capacity. The Panthers and Texans will kick off from NRG Stadium at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
