India U-19
wicketkeeper-batter Harvansh Singh Pangalia
on Tuesday scored an whirlwind century in a warm-up match against England U-19.
Walking in at 251/7 during the 36th over, Harvansh Singh Pangalia joined RS Ambrish at the crease and the duo stitched together a valuable 126-run partnership.
Ambrish took the lead during this stand, making a fluent 72 off 47 balls before being dismissed.
At that point, Pangalia had already reached 47 off 33 balls and promptly brought up his half-century with a boundary on the next delivery.
Pangalia unleashed a stunning assault in the final three overs. He launched the 48th over with back-to-back sixes off Manny Lumsden, who then bowled two no-balls consecutively. The next over saw another six off Matthew Firbank, but the fireworks truly exploded in the last over.
Pangalia smashed Lumsden for a four, followed by three towering sixes—his final maximum bringing up a brilliant century off just 52 deliveries.
Notably, his second fifty came at lightning speed, taking only 18 balls.

Who is Harvansh?
India U-19 wicketkeeper-batter Harvansh Singh hails from Gandhidham, a small town in Gujarat's Rann of Kutch. Growing up, he saw his father, Damandeep Singh, and uncle, Kunwarajeet Singh, who played cricket in their town, and interestingly, both of them were wicketkeepers. Now, Harvansh's family is settled in Canada. His father drives a truck in Brampton. Harvansh lives in Gandhidham with his mother and has made a promise to his father that one day he will get them back to India.
Damandeep never thought a video of
Yuvraj Singh
's six sixes would make his son so obsessed with the game that he would take a vow to represent his country.
"Even Rajkot is 200 km away from our city. It was only in 2012 when the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) opened an academy in our town. I enrolled Harvansh in it when he was six. He picked up keeping from me, as I used to don the gloves as well. But he turned southpaw because of Yuvraj Singh. He's a massive Yuvraj fan and hasn't even seen peak Yuvraj, but he was obsessed with the video of him hitting six sixes off Stuart Broad," Damandeep had told TimesofIndia.com in an interview.

'False and malicious': Imane Khelif slams retirement rumours

Imane Khelif (AFP Photo) Algerian Olympic boxing champion Imane Khelif on Wednesday dismissed claims from her former manager suggesting she was stepping away from the sport. Khelif, who won gold in the women's 66kg category at the Paris Games, was recently at the centre of a gender controversy. "I would like to make it clear to the public that the reports of my retirement from boxing are false," the 26-year-old wrote on her Facebook page. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! She accused her former manager, Nasser Yesfah, of "betraying (her) trust and (her) country with his false and malicious statements". "This person no longer represents me in any way," she said. "I have never announced my retirement from boxing. I remain committed to my sporting career, I train regularly and I maintain my physical condition between Algeria and Qatar in preparation for upcoming events." Earlier on Wednesday, French newspaper Nice Matin reported comments from Yesfah claiming she had hung up her gloves, though without clarifying if the decision was permanent. The world boxing championships are scheduled in Liverpool from September 4–14, with the deadline for entries set for Monday. Catch Rani Rampal's inspiring story on Game On, Episode 4. Watch Here!

49ers reportedly acquire wide receiver Skyy Moore in trade with Chiefs

The San Francisco 49ers have reached an agreement to acquire wide receiver Skyy Moore from the Kansas City Chiefs , according to the Associated Press. The deal, pending Moore's physical, involves a swap of 2027 sixth- and seventh-round draft picks. A person familiar with the trade confirmed the details but requested anonymity since the transaction is not yet finalised, reported AP. Over 36 career games, he has tallied 43 receptions for 494 yards and one touchdown. Injuries derailed his 2024 campaign, as he failed to record a single catch due to a core muscle issue. Still, he has shown flashes of promise, including a touchdown reception in Kansas City's Super Bowl LVII win over Philadelphia and, more recently, an 88-yard punt return for a score in a preseason game against Seattle. Live Events San Francisco's receiver depth chart is currently in turmoil. Brandon Aiyuk remains sidelined until at least Week 6 while recovering from major knee surgery. Fellow starter Jauan Jennings has missed most of training camp with a calf injury. Head coach Kyle Shanahan also confirmed this week that Demarcus Robinson is facing a three-game suspension, pending appeal, after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor DUI charge in July. The 49ers' struggles extend beyond their top options. Rookie Jordan Watkins is sidelined with a high ankle sprain, while second-year receiver Jacob Cowing has been hampered by a hamstring injury since the start of camp. Cowing briefly returned to practice last week but aggravated the injury on Tuesday and was held out again Wednesday. Moore's addition provides San Francisco with much-needed depth and special teams potential as the regular season approaches.

Shock in cricket world! ICC breaks silence after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli go missing from ODI rankings

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli (ICC Photo) NEW DELHI: Indian cricket icons Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were briefly removed from the ICC ODI batting rankings on Wednesday due to a technical glitch, despite both continuing to be active in the format. The error drew attention as Sharma had only recently climbed to the No. 2 spot in the ODI rankings last week, while Kohli was placed fourth with 736 rating points. Their sudden absence from the top 100 created confusion, as players are usually dropped from the list only after retirement. Rohit has featured in eight ODIs in 2025 so far, leading India in three matches against England in February and guiding the side to five consecutive wins in the ICC Champions Trophy. Kohli, too, has played seven ODIs this year. Notably, the issue was confined to the ODI rankings, where both were among the top four before disappearing. The Test and T20I charts remained unaffected. While Sharma and Kohli have already retired from those two formats, they remain active in ODIs. "A number of issues in this week's rankings are currently being investigated," the ICC told Wisden. The anomaly was quickly corrected, with Rohit reinstated to No. 2 and Kohli restored to fourth place. No other player was impacted by the glitch. The ICC's swift clarification and fix helped settle the confusion around the temporary omission of two of India's biggest names from the ODI batting rankings.
