Why caddies at the Masters wear white jumpsuits
When it comes to grocery shopping in Watertown, we have a few options. ALDI, Price Chopper, Hannaford, Target, and Walmart are on Arsenal Street. Grand Union is situated in the Seaway Shopping Center, where Top's used to be, on the city's Northside. Northland Plaza is where Save-A-Lot is located on State St. The other former Top's location across from the high school on Washington Street has Piggly Wiggly. That gives you eight options within the city… So, who's cheaper?
InformNNY has determined the amount of each ingredient required and the cost of feeding 10 to 12 people for Easter from each of the eight stores. We will also provide a maximum savings table for anyone willing to do a little store hopping. The recipes that were used can be found in our article — Hop to It: Quick and Delicious Recipes for Your Easter Gathering.
The table is located at the bottom of the article. So, let's analyze!
Believe it or not, Target is the cheapest overall. It is missing cloves and fresh parsley; the cloves are needed for the ham and the parsley is included with the oven-roasted carrots. You can choose not to use these items, and your meal will not be ruined. Target's ham price is in a three-way tie for second place, coming in at $.99 per pound. Target does have one of the higher asparagus prices at 4.99 per pound. The Eggs are not too bad here, coming in at $4.99 for a dozen, it is one of the lower prices for eggs locally. If you purchase everything from Target, you can expect to spend about $85.14.

Hannaford sneaks in at second place for the overall cheapest. Unlike at Target, all the items you need are available at Hannaford. It also has the cheapest ham out of the eight locations, coming in at $.79 per pound. However, just like Target, the asparagus is 4.99 per pound. A dozen eggs at Hannaford will cost you $5.39, which is higher but not the highest. The total from Hannaford will come in at about $85.72.
Aldi takes third place overall; however, it is missing cloves and basic table salt and pepper shakers. Which again, if you want to forget the cloves, you can and most of us have salt and pepper shakers, so it's not that big of a deal. Aldi does have the cheapest asparagus at $1.95 per pound. It does have one of the more expensive hams as an 8-pound ham is going to cost a little over $19. A dozen eggs will set you back $5.49. Aldi shoppers are going to spend about $88.05 in total.
North Country Easter Guide
Walmart sits nicely in fourth place. The ham at Walmart is going to take almost $19 out of your pocket, but it has the cheapest eggs, $4.97 per dozen, and the second cheapest asparagus, $1.97 per pound. Walmart shoppers are going to spend about $90.41 for Easter Dinner.
Save-A-Lot is fourth from the bottom and parsley. But it's not a super important ingredient, so you can just skip it. The price for ham at Save-A-Lot is $1.69 per pound, which is a little over double the price from Hannaford. Eggs and asparagus are on the higher side, costing $5.49 for a dozen and 3.99 per pound, respectively. Your total Easter Dinner cost is approx. $102.08.
Grand Union is the third most expensive store. However, it is in a three-way tie for second-cheapest ham at $.99 per pound. Eggs and asparagus sit in the higher price range, costing $6.29 for a dozen eggs and $4.99 per pound for the asparagus. Grand Union shoppers are going to spend about $111.93.
Easter prep with ABC 50: DIY dyeing for potatoes and marshmallow alternatives
Piggly Wiggly is the second most expensive store overall. However, it is in a three-way tie for second-cheapest ham at $.99 per pound. Eggs and asparagus sit in the middle of the road, costing $4.99 for a dozen eggs and $3.49 per pound for the asparagus. Piggly Wiggly shoppers will spend about $112.78.
Price Chopper is the most expensive; shoppers can expect to spend a little more than $113. They have both the highest price for ham and eggs, sitting at $3.19 per pound and $6.49 for a dozen eggs. The asparagus will also set you back $3.99 per pound.
Now for those of you willing to do a little store-hopping. If you include all eight stores and you get the cheapest of everything, your total knocks down to $58.95. If you only want to deal with the five stores on Arsenal St., you can get the price to $59.78. Store-hoppers can save over $20 overall.

Aldi's Latest $25 Find Is an Absolute Must for Summer
Whether we're packing sandwiches for the beach or hauling drinks to a picnic, summer gives us dozens of opportunities to whip out a cooler. And while coolers are convenient for food, they're often a pain to haul, even if they have wheels. Enter backpack coolers, which are exactly what you think they are: insulated backpacks that function as a cooler so you can be hands-free while lugging your food to whatever adventure awaits. The only problem with backpack coolers is that while they're very convenient, they aren't always very affordable. Yeti's version is $275. Corkcicle sells a cooler backpack that's more subtle in design and costs less than a Yeti, but it will still set you back $149.95. If you like the subtle design of the insulated Corkcicle, but it's not in your price range, you're in luck. This week, Aldi has a copycat that is one-sixth of the cost of the Corksicle. This week in Aldi's Finds aisle, you'll find the Corkcicle look-alike for just $24.99. With padded shoulder straps and a carry handle for those times you don't want to put it on your back, the backpack is simple, but stylish, and comes in four colors: beige, black, blue, and raspberry red. It looks big enough to carry a day's worth of food and canned beverages for at least two people. This stylish backpack cooler goes on sale on June 11, and as with most Aldi Finds, it will be on store shelves for just one week, or until supplies run out. If you're in the market for a backpack cooler that will come in handy all summer long (and beyond), this is your chance to get one for a fraction of the bigger brands' prices. Now, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but this might be the best summer find yet. Read the original article on ALLRECIPES

Frenzy as Aldi's fan favourite Special Buys week returns: 'Will sell out quickly'
Aldi's very popular 'Best of British' Special Buys range is back, and shoppers are already going wild over the range that was released on Wednesday. Snacks such as prawn cocktail and Worcestershire sauce chips (AKA crisps), and Galaxy Chocolate Blocks are set to fly off the shelves this week. Other pantry staples such as Yorkshire Tea, Worcestershire Sauce, HP sauce, Bistro Gravy, Branston Pickle and more are included in the list of available goodies this week. However, there are a few items that have caused a bit of confusion. Rachel Houraghan, an Aldi shopper who's originally from Ireland, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that other people who might be missing their favourite foods from back home should get in quick! "I think all the popular things will sell out quickly," she tells us. "I went last year and most things were sold out by the time I had gone in the first week." She explains that while some of the items are available at Coles or Woolworths, they are much more expensive, making the Aldi Special Buys great value. RELATED: $10 Aldi product that solves biggest winter issue Aussies face: 'Great purchase' Aldi shopper's secret ingredient to make lazy lasagne: 'Feel dumb I never thought of this' Aldi shopper reveals best item at most awaited Special Buys sale: 'Better than other brands' "I realise there are a lot of British and Irish snacks we can buy in Coles or Woolies, but they are usually crazy expensive so this is a great way to get a fix of treats from home without paying crazy prices," Rachel says. "Also no where ever does prawn cocktail crisps! I love Australia and there is nowhere I'd rather be but it's always nice to have a taste from home." She adds that she's excited to introduce prawn cocktail crisps to her Aussie friends, and also keen to get some Galaxy chocolate bars, but she was least excited by the tea cakes, which she says "were the worst thing" there. As an Irish person, she also tells us, "I wish there was more Irish products as most were British. I would have loved Meanies crisps, Spice Bag seasoning, Chilli Heatwave Doritos!" Thankfully, for anyone wondering, the food all tastes the same as Rachel remembered from back home in Ireland. Many Aldi shoppers shared that they were going to "run" to their local store to get a taste of the British snacks on offer. "I didn't know and went to Aldi last night... I was in heaven," one woman wrote on TikTok. "As I Brit I have never seen cheese and pickle crisps before (but I need them!)," another said. "$50 later and I bought half the shop," a third said, while a fourth added, "My bank is gonna hurt tomorrow." Many others were left confused, however, that the prawn cocktail crisps were Smith's, which is an Aussie brand, instead of Walkers which are British. "What are Smith's? Walkers?" one person questioned. "Smith's crisps are not British!! We have Walkers," another said.
