
150 SpiceJet flyers stuck for over 2 hours in aircraft with faulty AC
Pune: Over 150 passengers booked on a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Pune experienced significant inconvenience and frustration on Monday after being confined to the aircraft for more than two hours post-boarding.

Adding to the discomfort, passengers reported that the air conditioning system in the aircraft was malfunctioning, leading to a suffocating and uneasy atmosphere for some onboard.
According to Akash Chaturvedi, one of the affected passengers, the flight (SG-477) was originally scheduled to depart from Delhi around 3.25pm and arrive in Pune at 5.35 pm. Chaturvedi stated that they boarded the aircraft around 3pm.
"We simply remained seated, but the aircraft did not take off. Numerous passengers inquired about the delay, but we received no clear explanations. The situation soon began to deteriorate," Chaturvedi recalled.
With no answers from the cabin crew, Chaturvedi said improper air conditioning became a major problem for many flyers. "Many senior citizens were on the flight, and they began to panic. They started to feel exhaustion and breathing issues.
Around 5.30 pm, the cabin crew suddenly asked everyone to deboard, stating that there was a technical issue. They could have told us this earlier and shifted the flyers to the terminal building much earlier," he said.
Talking about the whole episode, SpiceJet spokesperson said, "SpiceJet flight SG-477 scheduled to operate from Delhi to Pune was delayed due to a last minute technical issue in the aircraft. While SpiceJet technicians were trying to resolve the issue, it took longer than anticipated and the passengers were eventually deboarded.

Passengers were assisted throughout and were served with refreshments."
The total delay in flight was over 6 hours. The boarding again happened at 8.40pm, but the aircraft did not take off. "The cabin crew informed us that since refreshments are being loaded into the aircraft, the flight would take off by 9.40pm."

No refreshments, double security checks: Air India flyers from Delhi to Pune stuck in aircraft for over three hours
Pune: Around 150 passengers travelling from Delhi to Pune on an Air India (AI-2971) flight spent more than three hours inside the aircraft on Sunday afternoon waiting for it to take off. The passengers were stuck without any refreshments or proper information about take-off time. This incident is a repeat of last week when passengers of a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Pune spent hours inside the aircraft. The Air India flight was scheduled to take off from Delhi at 4pm and land in Pune by 6.05pm. It finally took off from Delhi around 7.15 pm and landed in Pune around 8.50pm. Major General Rajan Kochhar (retired), who was travelling with his wife, told TOI that the boarding was on time. "After we boarded and the flight was set to take off, a bout of bad weather, possibly a dust storm, hit Delhi. The take-off was aborted due to strong winds and bad weather. However, it subsided within half an hour, but even then, the aircraft did not take off," Kochhar, who was coming to Pune for a reunion function at the National Defence Academy (NDA), said. We, being in the service, have always flown Air India, and this kind of attitude wasn't expected from the airline," Kochhar added. On May 30, a similar set of events inconvenienced more than 150 flyers travelling to Pune from Delhi on a SpiceJet flight. In a weather bulletin issued at around 5pm on Sunday, the IMD said: 'Dust storm/followed by Thunderstorm with light rainfall and lightning (50-80 Km/h gusty winds) is very likely to occur at entire Delhi , NCR ( Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) during next 2 hours.'
