Actor Arshad Warsi recently shared a rare glimpse into his stunning heritage home in Goa — a 150-year-old Portuguese villa that he and his wife, Maria Goretti, have lovingly restored. Nestled in the picturesque village of Saligao in North Goa, the five-bedroom property — aptly named Casa Zen — blends colonial charm with modern elegance.
Taking to Instagram, Warsi posted a serene video tour of the house, offering viewers a peek into the tranquil lifestyle he enjoys in his tropical retreat. 'Just a thank you to everyone," he captioned the video, which beautifully captures the essence of the home and its lush surroundings.
In the clip, the actor walks through the immaculately maintained property, revealing its whitewashed façade paired with rich brown accents. A highlight is the expansive swimming pool surrounded by oversized terracotta planters brimming with greenery — an oasis perfect for unwinding.
'I just can't get enough of my beautiful house in Goa. Absolutely crazy about it," Warsi says in the video. 'Every day, there is a new place to chill." Inside, the home features an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture — from carved almirahs and cozy couches to elegant dining tables and vintage chairs.
The tour also includes a glimpse of the actor's garden, where a fruit-laden mango tree stands tall. 'Today I've decided to come and sit here. Just outside the house. Look at it, so much greenery," he remarks, adding, 'Lovely mangoes on my tree. It's time to sit here and relax and thank my stars and thank everybody who is responsible for giving me such a beautiful life. Thank you."
Staying true to its Portuguese roots, the villa boasts high ceilings, arched doorways, and wooden-framed windows. Yet, the couple has infused the space with their own creative flair — pops of color, tropical motifs, and abundant indoor plants breathe life into every corner. Notable features include a jungle-themed dining area, a vibrant blue cabinet along the corridor, and a striking indigo-hued entrance. Figurines and carefully chosen décor pieces add a whimsical, personal touch.
For those seeking a luxurious Goan escape, Casa Zen is also available as a vacation rental. Managed by Wildflower Villas, the entire property can be booked at Rs 75,000 plus taxes per night.

Kottayam: When young Shanku innocuously expressed his dislike for upma last Feb and asked for it to be replaced with biriyani and chicken fry in the anganwadi menu, his mother Aswathy Ashok recorded it and posted it on Instagram. George kept her word and included egg biriyani in the revised menu, which she released on Tuesday. George released the revised 'model food menu' at the state-level inauguration of anganwadis' Praveshanolsavam in Pathanamthitta on Tuesday. The menu — revised by the women and child welfare department with the intention of reducing sugar and salt intake and including more calories and protein to aid growth as per nutritional standards -- also includes pulao. Egg and milk will be provided on three days, unlike the earlier two days. Breakfast, lunch and general feeding will be based on the revised menu. It is the first time a unified food menu is being implemented for anganwadi students. Shanku, 4, is in Qatar and, according to Aswathy, is relishing the news of the revised menu. Shanku, whose official name is Trijal S Sundhar, is the only child of Somasundhar and Aswathy. The mother and son joined Somasundhar, who is working at Al Khor in Qatar, during the summer vacation. "We will be returning to our native place by mid-July, and he will join the anganwadi then," said Aswathy. Their native place is Prayar near Oachira in Alappuzha. Aswathy said the viral video was not shot deliberately. "Shanku's father returned to Qatar after his choroonu (first rice meal fed auspiciously). I used to take Shanku's photographs and videos and post them on Instagram for his father to see. The biriyani video too was shot just like that," said Aswathy. Upma was being served in the anganwadis daily and he developed a hatred towards it. He made the request for biriyani and chicken fry while having biriyani at home," she said.

Biryani makes it to revised anganwadi menu
A child's innocent preference for biryani and chicken fry instead of upma has culminated in the revision of the anganwadi menu in the State. Just months after the video of young Trijal S. Sundhar, also known as Sanku, went viral on social media, prompting Minister for Health and Women and Child Development Veena George to promise a relook at the anganwadi menu, the 'model food menu' for anganwadi children was unveiled by the Minister at the inauguration of the State-level anganwadi Praveshanolsavam in Pathanamthitta on Tuesday. The new menu brought out by the Women and Child Development department promises more delicious fare that meets nutritional requirements and is protein and energy rich, while reducing sugar and salt intake. This is the first time that a uniform menu is being rolled out across anganwadis in the State. The revised menu covers breakfast, lunch, and general feeding and includes egg biryani and egg/veg pulao to ragi ada, soya dry curry, sprouts, raita, fruit cup, nutri laddu and 'parippu payasam' on different days. Milk and eggs that were provided two days a week will now be given three times a week. The menu also specifies the ingredients that go into a dish and their quantity and their nutritional values. After Sanku's mother had posted her son's video on her Instagram handle, the Minister too had shared it. She had later agreed that the anganwadi menu needed an upgrade and had to look appealing to children.
