Man with "Greeley" and "Colorado" tattooed on eyebrows sentenced after holding woman at gunpoint
A jury found him guilty of first-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, menacing, reckless endangerment, and child abuse in December 2024.
Prosecutors said that officers responded near the intersection of West Elizabeth Street and South Shields Street in Fort Collins on Feb. 7, 2024, on reports of a suspicious male walking with a woman pushing a stroller. That's when officers said they recognized Sirio from a "Be On the Lookout" report for previous crimes and an active warrant.
When officers tried to arrest Sirio, police said he took out a firearm and pointed it at the female he was walking with. Officers said he yelled several statements at them and would not comply with their instructions while he held the female victim at gunpoint.
An officer fired his weapon, striking Sirio on the shoulder. He was taken into custody and rushed to the hospital.
The female victim and the children in the stroller were not harmed.
"I am proud of how hard our team worked to take a dangerous offender off the streets," said District Attorney, Gordon McLaughlin in a statement. "Mr. Sirio put many lives at risk that day, and without a brave officer's actions—it could have ended much differently. The collaborative efforts of our agencies in the CIRT process, help us to hold these individuals accountable and can let our community begin to move forward."

'Complaints from the community, combined with increased police presence by our 11 Division Community Incident Response Team (CIRT), enabled the dismantling of an organized crime group targeting commercial retail businesses and trafficking drugs,' he said in a statement. 'This investigation demonstrates the power of collaboration, and the vital role community trust plays in keeping our neighbourhoods safe.' Motorcyclist shot near Edora Park on Monday
A suspect is in custody after a deputy-involved shooting near Edora Park in Fort Collins Monday afternoon, according to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. Two deputies attempted to stop an off-road motorcycle for traffic violations in Fort Collins, according to a news release sent Monday afternoon. The adult male rider didn't stop and drove onto the bike path in Edora Park. The deputies followed on motorcycle. The suspect then got off the motorcycle and exchanged gunfire with the deputies, according to the release. The news release does not say who fired first. "The suspect fell to the ground and did not comply with deputy commands," the LCSO news release said. "Due to the suspect's proximity to his firearm, deputies formed a contact team and deployed a K9 to pull the suspect away from the gun." The news release said the suspect was provided first aid by responding law enforcement officers until being transported to a hospital with serious injuries. One deputy was shot, according to the news release. That deputy was also transported to a hospital and is recovering. Crime scene tape was still strewn up at Edora Park near a playground and grassy area off of Welch Street as late as 5:30 p.m. Monday. Fort Collins Police and LSCO were also still in the scene, including at a few entry points to the park. The incident occurred at the park and near Riffenburgh Elementary School. No additional injuries have been reported at this time, according to the news release. The suspect's identity is unknown at this time. The multiagency Critical Incident Response Team, or CIRT, has been activated to investigate the shooting, according to the X post. CIRT investigates any officer-involved shooting in the 8th Judicial District that results in injury or death. After each investigation, the findings are reported to the District Attorney. Since the LCSO was involved in the incident, the Loveland Police Department is the lead investigating agency for the CIRT investigation. This story was updated with additional information.
