MORE — Reds title win links generations through glory
Liverpool finish the season with a league-best 84 points, 10 more than runners-up Arsenal.
Palace finish their FA Cup-winning season with 53 points, good for 12th place on the table.
Salah, fittingly, delivers the improbable to finish the season
We don't need to add much to the section headline — Mohamed Salah was the best player in the Premier League this season and if you were going to predict one player who would find a way to get a point for his 10-man team late in a game this weekend it would've been him. Salah won the Golden Boot race and claimed his second Playmaker of the Year award when he topped the assist leaderboard. He's the champion of the champions, and he's not going anywhere.

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace preview — by Joe Prince-Wright
Liverpool wrapped up the title weeks ago but since they won their second league title in five years they've lost two and drawn once as the party has been going on for some time. They lost late on at Brighton on Monday but Arne Slot has been using these final few games of the season to give chances to fringe players as he plans ahead for next season. It will be intriguing to see how strong he goes with his lineup against Palace as he will want to finish the season on a high.

Crystal Palace remain in dreamland as Oliver Glasner delivered a first-ever major trophy last weekend as they beat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final. Palace beat Wolves 4-2 on Tuesday too as they're finishing the season strong and a win at Anfield could see them finish in the top 10. The Eagles have Europa League action to look forward to next season and also the FA Community Shield against Liverpool at Wembley in August to kick off the 2025-26 season.
Liverpool team news, focus
There will be some rotation for Slot but it seems like he will go with a very strong lineup as the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold could come in to start. Mohamed Salah is trying his best to finish the season strong but luck has not been on his side in recent weeks as he's quietly scored just once in his last eight Premier League games.
OUT: Alexis Mac Allister (hip)
Crystal Palace team news, focus
Eberechi Eze is the star of the show for Palace right now and Eddie Nketiah scored twice in the midweek win against Wolves. Glasner will continue to rotate and give players a chance to prove themselves for next season. Wharton is out and Guehi is a major doubt as they picked up head and eye injuries respectively in the FA Cup final.

Liverpool not ready to release Chiesa until new striker found
Liverpool are not prepared to sell Federico Chiesa unless Alexander Isak arrives from Newcastle United, claim reports, leaving Inter and Napoli waiting. The Italy international had seemed to be on the way out just one year after his move to Anfield Road with the Juventus contract running down. He barely set foot on the field throughout his first season, either due to injuries or poor form, yet still scoring two goals with two assists in 14 competitive appearances. Chiesa time at Liverpool is not over yet LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND – JANUARY 11: Federico Chiesa of Liverpool scores his team's fourth goal during the Emirates FA Cup Third Round match between Liverpool and Accrington Stanley at Anfield on January 11, 2025 in Liverpool, England. (Photo by) When he was left out of the travelling party for the pre-season friendly games, it was assumed he would be loaned out or sold. However, La Gazzetta dello Sport now insist that Arne Slot wants to keep Chiesa, at least until they sign a new striker, with the primary target being Newcastle United star Isak. Inter and Napoli remain interested in the 27-year-old, while Atalanta had also been linked, but any move is going to have to wait.

Fabrizio Romano predicts Liverpool's signing: Marc Guehi vs Giovanni Leoni
Fabrizio Romano predicts Liverpool will take a massive risk with an upcoming transfer. The Reds are in the market for a centre-back. Liverpool remain in the transfer market despite already striking several high-profile deals. What a difference a year makes? 2024 saw barely anything happen, of course, but things have turned around in 2025. Liverpool have broken their transfer record, then signed the most expensive full-backs in their history before dropping €80m on Hugo Ekitiké. Shop the LFC Store LFC x adidas Shop the home range today! LFC x adidas Shop the goalkeeper range today LFC x adidas Shop the new adidas range today! Problems remain, however. One of them is at centre-back where Liverpool are undeniably light in numbers. Jarell Quansah joined Bayer Leverkusen this summer without a replacement, while Joe Gomez is already battling another injury. It's incredibly reminiscent of 2020 when disaster followed after Liverpool went into the campaign with only three senior options. The Reds need to sign someone, then, and they're looking at two options. Marc Guehi and Giovanni Leoni are both on the shortlist and could join before the transfer window shuts. And Fabrizio Romano has predicted who it will be. Fabrizio Romano predicts Marc Guehi vs Giovanni Leoni "If you want my prediction I say Giovanni Leoni," Romano told DAZN. "It's a risk, yeah? It's a risk. "If you ask many people they'll say Marc Guehi but I say Leoni because I think Liverpool see a real big talent in this boy. I think it's 51/49 percent but I'll go with Leoni." Romano isn't exactly sticking his neck out with that 51/49 line but it's interesting that he views Leoni as more likely. Perhaps part of that is potential value for money. Guehi, after all, is free next summer and paying now is essentially paying for one year. Leoni is very much not out of contract next summer and Parma want an enormous fee for him.
