Alan Jackson Receives Eponymous ACM Lifetime Achievement Award & Performs ‘Remember When'
The first ever Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award was handed out at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards on Thursday (May 8). The award was given to — 'You guessed it,' as host Reba McEntire quipped — country legend Alan Jackson, who also performed his 2003 Hot Country Songs-topping hit ballad 'Remember When.'
The song's music video — a montage of nostalgic-looking photos and footage — played in the background as Jackson performed the sentimental ballad, with the singer shouting out his slide guitarist before the solo as playing 'some real country music.'

'I came to Nashville with a paper sack full of a songs and a crazy dream,' he continued. 'All these years later, standing here receiving such an honor like this, it is mind blowing. Jackson went on to specifically thank 'one person, who's been my best friend since I was 17 years old — That's my wife Denise out there. She's loved me through the good and the bad, the happy and the sad. Influenced me, gave me three beautiful daughters, and she's helped me keep my feet on the ground all these years. I would not be here without her.'
The ACM Awards are produced by Dick Clark Productions, which is owned by Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Eldridge Industries and Billboard parent company Penske Media.

DDG's Temporary Restraining Order Against Halle Bailey Denied
On Wednesday (June 4), DDG requested an emergency hearing in an attempt to block Halle Bailey from traveling internationally with their son, Halo. He countered her previous domestic violence accusations by filing for a restraining order of his own, but his request was not approved. Bailey is set to leave to Italy with their one-year-old this weekend for a few months as she shoots a film. TMZ reported yesterday the Michigan rapper filed a motion against his ex-girlfriend, claiming she poses an 'imminent emotional and psychological risk' to the child. He included several alleged incidents that would back up his assertions, if true. DDG wrote about a time Halle took his gun and ran out of his house, said she would have an abortion behind his back, and would text him concerning messages regarding her mental health. 'In or about August 2023, during a particularly volatile argument, petitioner became enraged and threatened to end her life using my legally owned firearm. Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house,' wrote DDG in a declaration attached to his court filing, per Billboard. 'This incident was one of several in which petitioner's actions posed a serious threat to her own safety and the safety of our son by creating an environment of emotional distress and danger within the home.' The rapper also claimed Halle sent 'a series of alarming text messages threatening to kill herself and suggesting that their infant son, Halo, might also be harmed.' In May, Halle was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG after accusing him of abuse. She cited an incident where he allegedly smashed her head against a steering wheel during an argument, said he often referred to her as a 'b**ch' or 'evil,' and rallied his supporters to bad-mouth her publicly. The Little Mermaid actress addressed her Italy travel plans in her original complaint, which was approved on May 15. 'I have family and a nanny who will be traveling with me to care for Halo while I am working,' Halle wrote in the court documents. Kendrick Lamar and SZA have been sharing the spotlight with each other on their current Grand National Tour, and the 'All the Stars' collaborators are bringing their A-list friends into the fold during select shows. Bieber was featured on the acoustic version of 'Snooze' in September 2023, months after it was released as the sixth single from her 2022 blockbuster album SOS. 'Snooze' reached No. 2 on the Hot 100 and won the Grammy for best R&B song last year. AzChike popped out to perform 'Peekaboo' with Dot in their hometown during the third SoFi Stadium stop on May 24. 'Peekaboo,' which samples Willie Hale's 1972 track 'Give Me a Helping Hand,' reached No. 13 on the Hot 100. Kendrick Lamar & SZA's ‘Luther' Breaks Record for Most Weeks at No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart
After each individually holding the record, Kendrick Lamar and SZA combine forces to claim the longest-running No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as their collaboration 'Luther' reaches an unprecedented 23rd week at the top. The crowning feat, on the list dated June 7, dates to the chart becoming the singular standard genre survey in October 1958. With its 23rd week at No. 1, 'Luther' breaks from the tie it set last week with Lamar's 'Not Like Us.' The Grammy-winning anthem scored 22 weeks in charge in 2024-25: 21 amid its summer 2024 run and its final frame this February following its much-discussed performance at the halftime show of Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9.
