No. 1 Nelly Korda goes the wrong way on moving day at Evian Championship
She now heads into the final round in a share of 44th, 10 shots back.
Minjee Lee owns the record for the largest come-from-behind victory in France. She was seven back when she won in 2021. Angela Stanford and Anna Nordqvist were both five back when they won.
Though Evian Golf Resort is known for giving up low scores – three 61s! – Korda has dug herself too deep a hole.
Still winless in 2025, Korda doubled the par-5 ninth and bogeyed the par-5 18th to make a mess of two good scoring opportunities. She hit only five fairways and 11 greens on the day, needing 32 putts.

Rampant Red Roses make World Cup statement with warm-up thrashing of France
England ran in six tries as they completed their preparations for the Women's Rugby World Cup with a 40-6 win over France. The Red Roses, who kick off their campaign against the United States at Sunderland's Stadium of Light on Friday 22 August, were made to work hard for a 27th successive victory in Mont-de-Marsan by a French side missing first-choice scrum-half Pauline Bourdon Sansus through suspension. England's forward power proved irresistible during the first half as they established a commanding lead, but having seen France all but reel them in before holding on to win their Six Nations grand slam decider in April 43-42, they headed for the dressing room taking nothing for granted. Sadia Kabeya provided the finishing touch to a fourth-minute rolling maul after second row partner Abbie Ward had secured possession at an early line-out, and hooker Amy Cockayne repeated the dose at the end of a powerful 15th-minute drive with Zoe Harrison adding the conversion. Handling errors and imprecision cost John Mitchell's side further tries as the French conceded a series of penalties which eventually saw lock forward Manae Feleu yellow-carded, and although Morgane Bourgeois reduced the deficit with a penalty in her absence, prop Maud Muir touched down from another rolling maul and Harrison added the extras to make it 19-3 at the break. Bourgeois kicked a second penalty to capitalise on Teani Feleu's rampaging early break as the second half got under way, but scrum-half Natasha Hunt's quick thinking after her pack had forced a scrum penalty sent centre Meg Jones over and Harrison obliged once again. France started to throw the ball around, with half-backs Carla Arbez and Alexandra Chambon both making dangerous breaks and as the England scrum came under pressure, the visitors were starved of meaningful possession. But catch and drive did the trick once again with six minutes remaining for replacement hooker Lark Atkin-Davies to go over, and she added a second three minutes later to allow Harrison to take her tally to 10 points with two more successful kicks. Strasbourg sign Danish centre-back Lucas Hogsberg
RC Strasbourg Alsace have added some more youthfulness to their backline with Lucas Hogsberg (19) signing on Saturday. The club officially announced his arrival, with the 19-year-old joining from Danish Superliga side Nordsjælland, with the youngster committing to the Alsatian club until 2030. Hogsberg had generated plenty of interest from clubs outside Denmark this year, with Serie A side Como 1907 reportedly making him an offer for €10m in January, an offer which the Danish club rejected. The fee to bring him over to Strasbourg is estimated to be around €15m, according to which does not include bonuses. He's the fourth centre-back that Le Racing have signed this summer, with the other being Mamdou Sarr (19) on loan from Chelsea, plus Andrew Omobamidele (23), who made a permanent move in June and Soumaïla Coulibaly (21), who made a four-year commitment in July. Hogsberg came to Nordsjælland when he was only three, playing his first professional match at the club when he turned 16. He's made two appearances for the Danish national team and was first called up in the UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie against Portugal back in March. GFFN | Joel Lefevre

Chelsea Have £10M Transfer Decision in Efforts to Sign Arsenal Target With PSG Clause
Chelsea look poised to sign 22-year-old Xavi Simons, who left PSG earlier this year, with Arsenal also showing interest. Wherever Simons lands, PSG stands to make a good profit from the transfer. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Leipzig agreed to an €80 million deal for Simons, with €55 million paid upfront. The Dutch midfielder is under contract through June 2027, and PSG included a sell-on clause to ensure they get a cut of any future transfer fee. That approach is already paying dividends. Adam Crafton of The Athletic says PSG recently received €17 million (£15 million) from Hugo Ekitiké's move to Liverpool thanks to a similar clause. Romano also pointed out that Chelsea are making solid progress in personal terms talks. Simons is reportedly open to the move and interested in joining the Premier League club, though discussions are still ongoing. Chelsea need to make a decision on former PSG aceChelsea are still negotiating with Leipzig over Simons, according to Sky Sports (h/t The Mirror). The two clubs are reportedly about £10 million apart on the player's valuation. If the Blues want to sign Simons, Leipzig will need to find a replacement first — and it looks like Harvey Elliott is set to fill that role. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is expected to be involved in making Elliott's move to Germany happen, which would then clear the way for Simons' transfer. 'After suffering from neck pain, Xavi Simons returned to training with the team on Tuesday,' Christian Falk informed CaughtOffside. 'Leipzig are still open to selling the midfielder for €60m-70m [£52m-60.7m]. His transfer to Chelsea is on hold until the Blues come up with a suitable offer. 'In that event, Leipzig already have their sights set on a successor in Liverpool's Harvey Elliott. Head of global football, Jürgen Klopp, who once coached him in Liverpool, is expected to assist in this endeavour. He is Leipzig's secret weapon and is expected to persuade Elliott to join the project.' Meanwhile, TalkSPORT recently revealed that Chelsea are close to reaching an agreement on personal terms. Simons is still holding talks with other clubs, including Arsenal, who remain strongly interested.
