Americans try Cadbury and compare it to US chocolate – and there's clear winner

Daily Mirror26-05-2025

Cadbury and Hershey's are two of the biggest chocolate brands in the world, both boasting a rich history and delicious products which have stood the test of time
An American couple have issued their verdict on Cadbury chocolate after trying it for the first time, and compared it to a classic US brand. Brianna Sky Morton and her partner relocated from the US to the UK and been spending much of their time tucking into classic British foods to see if they are worth the hype.
Recently, after hearing Brits rave about Cadbury chocolate, they decided to conduct a taste test to see if it beats America's Hershey's chocolate. When it comes to food, us Brits don't necessarily have the best reputation. But one thing tourists often love trying while in the UK is our snacks.

Brianna has been sharing their honest reviews of British food on her Instagram page since relocating, and her review of one of the nation's favourite chocolate brands has got people talking.

Cadbury chocolate tends to offer a richer, smoother flavour due to the high cocoa content, while Hershey's is known for its lighter, sweeter taste as a result of the butyric acid used. Both chocolate companies have a rich history and play a significant role in the chocolate industry.
Brianna and her partner tried the Hershey's chocolate bar first, after which she said: "I love Hershey's," however after tucking into a Cadbury's bar, the pair were left stunned.
"Wow," Brianna said - and her partner totally agreed. Brianna added: "That is amazing. This blows Hershey's out of the water. Cadbury, oh my goodness." She insisted there is "no going back" to American chocolate after trying the British treat, which has been around since 1824.
One commented: "We don't do everything better in England but biscuits and chocolate are good for sure!"
"Cadbury is real chocolate," insisted another. One other said: "Nobody does chocolate like UK and France in my opinion. Cadbury rocks." "UK chocolate will always be better than USA chocolate!," agreed one other.
One other said: "First time I tried Hershey's I felt so bad for Americans! You guys don't know what chocolate is until you come to Europe!! British chocolate is not even considered good compared to Belgian chocolate!"

One other Brit shared their thoughts, and wrote: "Cadbury used to be the UK favourite. Taste slightly changed when the sugar tax was introduced, which led people to criticise its quality. Then Kraft absolutely ruined it. It now tastes cheap and leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. I personally haven't purchased it for more than a year now, and will never again."
Suggesting what to try next, another commented: "Wait till they get a chocolate orange down them, lives will be changed."
"Try a Ripple or a Twirl," suggested one other. Another agreed and noted: "And they haven't even had a Flake yet. Or a Ripple. Life changing."

"Now I can't start a new chat as my old one is already open and it doesn't allow me although it's disappeared from my phone." "Please help me Easyjet this is our last holiday abroad as my mum's MSD is progressing," she added. "We are only here for a couple of days and it's ruined. "How on earth can this wheelchair break during transit in the hold? Beyond devastated. We had every reason to be nervous about this flight." "We understand how important it is for our customers to feel confident that essential items like this will be well cared for when travelling with us. "We are urgently looking into this with our ground handling partners." Imogen revealed her mother's motor neurone disease in January last year, six months after the initial diagnosis. Imogen went on to explain that she and Janet have decided to speak out publicly for several reasons. The star, who has two daughters of her own, said they are keen to raise awareness of MND and also hope Janet will be able to connect with others "who understand what she is going through". They added they were inspired to go public with the diagnosis after Coronation Street aired a storyline where character Paul Foreman had the disease. Motor Neurone Disease, which currently has no cure, is a rare disease that affects the brain and nerves, and causes weakness that gets worse over time. It slowly robs patients of the ability to walk, talk and eat, although every sufferer is different. 5 Janet and Imogen spoke out about the diagnosis last year Credit: imogenthomas/Instagram 5 Janet has been living with motor neurone disease since 2023 Credit: imogenthomas/Instagram

Tourist smashes two Terracotta Army warriors during bizarre museum rampage

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Two of the world famous Terracotta Army clay warriors have been damaged after a tourist jumped into a pit and pushed them over. The 30-year-old man launched himself into the pit at the museum housing the antiques in Xi'an, China, on May 30, while eyewitnesses looked on in shock. Once inside the 18ft deep pit, the man, only identified by his surname, Sun, pushed and pulled over the statues. Video footage then shows him lying on the ground covering his face as eyewitnesses yell at him. One, Xiao Lin, said he was visiting the site with a tour guide when he suddenly saw the man jump in. He shouted, 'What are you doing?' before the man touched the figures and pushed them over. He said: 'Later, the museum was closed, and we were evacuated by staff. I didn't see how the man was removed from the pit.' A tour guide at the scene, named Tete, confirmed the man jumped in and toppled over the terracotta warriors. Afterwards museum security restrained the man while authorities confirmed he is suffering with his mental health. The exhibit is still open to the public while officials work to repair the damage. The Terracotta Army is regarded as one of China's greatest archaeological treasures and features a collection of more than 8,000 life-sized soldiers. The figures date from around the late 200s BCE and were discovered on March 29, 1974, by local farmers just outside Xi'an. In 2017, a man admitted to stealing a thumb from one of the Terracotta statues that was on display in Pennsylvania. Footage showed him taking selfies with the statues before appearing to break something off. The missing thumb was only noticed a month later and the FBI was called. More Trending Michael Rohana, snapped it off at the the Franklin Institute museum from the statue which was estimated to be worth $4.5million. By that figure, the damage to the statues in Xi'an could possible be $9million. Rohana later admitted that he had kept the thumb in a drawer. He was acquitted after his lawyer argued he was wrongly charged under laws that usually apply to major museum thefts. The mum revealed the tiny amount of tax they pay annually HOUSE ABOUT IT We bought a huge 3-bed home in Bulgaria without viewing for £25k, we've quit the UK with our kids, every day's a holiday BUYING a home can be expensive in the UK - and one couple decided to think outside the box. The large family pad needed quite a bit of work to it, and they have been updating following with their renovation journey. On their @renovatebulgariaw account, they revealed that they bought the house on a whim. They wrote: 'We bought this three-bedroom house in Bulgaria without viewing on a spontaneous Wednesday afternoon. 'Three bedrooms, half an acre of land, outbuildings.' One of the first jobs they tackled when they moved in was adding a working toilet to the bathroom, as it didn't have one. Thankfully they did have a working shower and sink to get them started. They've also replaced the windows, laid a new stylish floor and added a fire, which looked perfect for winter. The couple shared how they have decked out the house with bargain furniture that they have upcycled to make them look stylish. This included £15 chairs and a £15 dresser. I fled the UK for sunny Dubai - life back home is miserable & no-one has any cash Given the national average house price in the UK was reported at £264,500 in 2024, the family's Bulgarian home is an affordable alternative. As well as managing to snap up a cheap property, the couple shared how living costs are less in Bulgaria too. The mum wrote: 'You pay a tax yearly, like council tax, which is around £45. 'Then there is water and electric to pay, costs are very low compared to UK.' While the renovation appears to be a large project, the family have been taking advantage of a nearby pool and stunning lakes and hikes. And thankfully the kids are said to love their new home, with the mum saying: 'It's lovely.' Many people were impressed with their DIY renovation, with one saying: 'amazing house.' Another added: 'Everything you've done so far looks incredible!' A third commented: 'What a life.'
