Nigel Benn's rivalry with Chris Eubank Sr will be relived by the pugilists' children on Saturday, as Conor Benn faces Chris Eubank Jr at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
No strangers to one another in the squared-circle, Benn lost his WBO middleweight title to Eubank Sr via a ninth-round TKO back in 1990, before holding 'Simply the Best' to a draw three years later. And now, Conor and Chris Jr are set to have their own day in the sun with one another, in what is being billed as one of the most highly-anticipated outs of a generation.
With a flawless record of 23-0, Conor heads into the bout with an untouchable mentality, fuelled by his father's words of wisdom and Tony Sims' tutelage. Conor made his debut in 2016, before blazing through a number of boxing's most renowned up-and-comers to clinch the WBA Continental welterweight title just two years later.

After defending his belt eight times, it appears as though Conor's main focus is now on world championship glory, with a win this weekend certain to put him in the title frame. However, he will have to dispatch of a tough nut in 34-3 Eubank Jr in doing so - a man who has primarily spent his career at the heavier middleweight class and enters the fray as the far more experienced man.
However, unlike Conor, Eubank Jr's father will not be present at the fight - publicly slamming the contest due to the weight difference between the two contestants, despite it being held at 160lbs and having a 10lb hydration clause in the efforts of fairness. Here, Wales Online breaks down Nigel Benn's relationship with his son, his net worth, and life away from boxing.
A battle with sex addiction
While Nigel endured 48 gruelling fights in the ring, some of his toughest battles came outside of the ropes - with an addiction to casual sex almost driving the former world champion to taking his own life. Speaking about his battles in the past, Nigel said: "It was an addiction, not to heroin or anything like that, but to women.
"I didn't care whether they were tall, short, wide or very wide." Blaming his actions on "very low self-esteem" following the failure of his first marriage, he also noted that his behaviour was having wider impacts on chances at a second family.

He added: "I just got to a low point when I said, 'Right, this is it'. It was eating me away, I just couldn't keep hurting my wife and my kids." After attempting to take his own life in 1999, Nigel turned to Christianity to turn his troubles around - living with his pastor for a year after his wife, Caroline, kicked him out of the family home.
Fast forward to 2025, and Nigel and Caroline are still married, with Nigel reportedly acknowledging his past mistakes and taking steps to prove his commitment to his wife.
An argument with a fellow celebrity
Nigel made headlines in 2002, when he announced that he would be taking part in ITV's I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! However, his stint on the show wasn't without its controversy, almost coming to blows with Rhona Cameron.
An argument broke out between the boxer and the Scottish comic after Nigel critiqued her "constant moaning" while she accused him of homophobia. Cameron then said: "Why don't you go and read your Bible? Actually why don't you f*** off and leave?" before tempers erupted further.

Nigel replied: "You're lucky you're not a man or I'd knock you, sparko." Thankfully, no blows were exchanged between the two, and Nigel reflected on the incident in 2022. He said: "Over 20 years ago, I was 'in the jungle' with Rhona.
"We are both strong personalities (which is what has made us who we are). I didn't actually threaten her – but did 'state' verbally that if she was a man I would deal with her…But at no point did I raise my hand to her. It was just a heated exchange of words – end of."
Homes in the sun
While Nigel was raised in Ilford, he has resided in a number of different countries throughout the course of his life. He moved to Majorca in 2002 - however, he was initially incredibly apprehensive of even visiting the Spanish tourist trap on holiday. As per the Majorca Bulletin, he previously said: "I was sitting on the plane, still fuming, my agent has messed up the bookings and we did not know where we were booked to be staying, so I'm sitting on the plane, angry and picked up the Daily Bulletin, and started leafing through the ads and spotted this apartment; got to the airport, headed for one of the accommodation offices and asked directions to this property and a hotel nearby.
"Great, we ended up in a £50 a night place in Palmanova, not the £1500 a night I'm used to and I'm already missing my cable TV, all I got was BBC 24 and I'm like, get me out of here. We were supposed to have been in Puerto Pollensa. So, to cut a long story short (no future as a public speaker), I had lost interest in the apartment but my wife managed to talk me into looking round the place with her instead of relaxing on the beach.

"We got there, I opened the door and I was well impressed, the view. I tried to keep cool, but the agent could see I was impressed and by the time we had finished, I had bought another larger one nearby - unbelievable - and something just hit me like man; this is where I want to be with my kids and my wife. I never realised all this existed just round the corner from England."
However, in the early 2010s, Nigel was on the move once more - this time to sunny Sydney, Australia. In the years since of living Down Under, Nigel has worked with troubled teenagers at the Blacktown PCYC, and even had a massive mansion constructed for he and his family to reside in.
A monumental net worth
Given that he is one of the most renowned boxers of his generation, with an overall record of 42-5-1, it comes as very little to no surprise that Nigel has racked up an estimated fortune of around £15 million, as per Celebrity Net Worth. A two-time world champion with wins over Gerald McClellan, Mauro Galvano, as well as a loss and a draw with Eubank Sr, much of his net worth is thought to have come from his time in the squared-circle.

However, Nigel has also worked as a DJ, appeared on I'm A Celeb, and released an autobiography entitled Dark Destroyer - a nod to his ring name. Elsewhere, he has also worked as a patron of the Shannon Bradshaw Trust, a UK-based children's charity which helps youngsters with life-threatening conditions and their families.

Kylian Mbappe furiously grabs referee Michael Oliver's watch in France defeat
Mbappe led the French protests at full-time against Spain (Picture: Getty0 A furious Kylian Mbappe grabbed referee Michael Oliver's watch to check how much time was left during France's Nations League defeat to Spain. The European champions came out on top in a 5-4 thriller in Stuttgart on Thursday night with Lamine Yamal again running the show. The Barcelona sensation scored twice with Spain leading 5-1 with just over 20 minutes of the match remaining before France began mounting a comeback. Rayan Cherki's effort and an own goal from Dani Vivian had Les Blues back in the game before Randal Kolo Muani pulled another back three minutes into added time. Oliver had added on five minutes at the end of the 90, blowing his whistle with the clock approaching 96 minutes after an extra goal was scored and a substitution was made in that allotted time. With his side still chasing an equaliser, Mbappe angrily approached the Premier League referee at full-time, demanding to see his watch. 'We are angry,' the Real Madrid star TF1. Yamal scored twice for Spain (Picture; Getty Images) 'The problem is that it's a recurring thing, but if I talk about it now, people will think I'm a hater, so I don't want to talk about it. 'It's just that when there are five minutes (of added time), you have to play five minutes. It's not five minutes that go by, it's completely different.' Mbappe added: 'We're pissed off, it's normal because we wanted to win, we played with desire. 'We really wanted to come back, but in the end we lost and we're frustrated.' David Beckham's feud with son Brooklyn and staggering net worth close to King Charles'
David Beckham's feud with son Brooklyn and staggering net worth close to King Charles' David Beckham is finally set to receive a knighthood in the King's Birthday Honours list next week, as his reported family feud with son Brooklyn shows no signs of ending any time soon Brooklyn Beckham reportedly has a fractured relationship with his father (Image: Getty Images ) David Beckham is set to become a sir next week when he finally receives a knighthood in King Charles III's Birthday Honours list. The English footballing icon, who turned 50 in May, has long seen calls to have the honour bestowed upon him given his impact on the game and his notable donations to charity over the years. And now, according to The Sun, it appears as though Beckham will finally get the recognition that many fans believe he deserves. It comes after the King dropped a major hint towards a knighthood when he and Queen Camilla were greeted by Beckham at the Chelsea Flower Show last month. Charles asked: "You got it, didn't you?" That prompted Beckham to respond: "It was incredible, thank you. It was very kind." Beckham made a name for himself with Manchester United between 1992 and 2003, before a big money move saw him join Real Madrid. He also enjoyed stints with LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain before hanging up his boots in 2013. However, Beckham also received 115 caps for the England national team over the course of his incredible career – eventually becoming the captain of the Three Lions during its golden generation. Now a co-owner of Major League Soccer side, Inter Miami, Beckham has seen his net worth continue to grow. It was announced earlier this year by the Sunday Times' Rich List that alongside wife, Victoria – who enjoyed a notable singing career of her own with the Spice Girls before venturing into the world of fashion – Beckham's net worth had grown by £45million over the last 12 months to a total of around £500m. Article continues below That takes the power couple's estimated fortune to just £140m shy of King Charles III's worth, according to the same publication. Unsurprisingly, a large portion of Beckham's net worth comes from his time on the pitch, given that he was paid £188m over the course of his five years with LA Galaxy alone. David Beckham will see a knighthood from King Charles III (Image: PA ) Meanwhile, lucrative brand and endorsement deals with the likes of Emporio Armani, Gillette, PepsiCo, Breitling and Adidas over the years will have helped Beckham bolster his bank balance further, while his eponymous 'Beckham' Netflix series is said to have earned him another £28m. And that's not to mention Victoria's career earnings with the Spice Girls – who remain as the top-selling girl group of all time with more than 100m records sold globally – as well as her VB designer clothing range. While Beckham's recent news of a knighthood may lead to familial celebrations, it may not be enough to mend his reportedly fractured relationship with son, Brooklyn. The two are said to have fallen out back in 2022, although the exact reason for the dispute remains unknown. Brooklyn did not attend his father's 50th birthday party earlier this year, with his wife Nicola Peltz pinning the blame his brother Romeo's then girlfriend, Kim Turnbull. Brooklyn Beckham is married to Nicola Peltz (Image: Getty Images for Airbnb ) Nicola's friends claimed that this was due to Brooklyn having a brief romantic liaison with Kim before his brother dated her, but his friends denied this. The sources, who spoke to the Mirror, also claimed that the Beckham's "chose Kim over Brooklyn." However, friends of the family also noted that this characterisation was fiction, and that Kim had cruelly been "thrown under the bus." After the recent news of Romeo and Kim splitting amicably broke this week, a source claimed that it would not change things within the family, explaining: "There are no signs of reconciliation, sadly. There is still a lot of hurt to process." Article continues below Meanwhile, insiders close to Nicola have previously said that as "an outsider coming into the Beckham family, she has helped Brooklyn see the emotional abuse and toxic behaviour within." These claims, which were dubbed "patently untrue and ludicrous" by friends of David and Victoria, were the "nail in the coffin" of a future relationship, as per sources. One said: "It was a low, low blow... how can you say such things about your own family. It will be interesting to see if Brooklyn and Nicola make any attempt to heal things now Kim is out of the picture."

Josh Kelly played against Jordan Pickford but now eyes title fight against ‘freak' champ who's as tall as Anthony Joshua
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JOSH KELLY once played alongside Jordan Pickford - now he is targeting world title fights against champions taller than the goalkeeper. Kelly spent two years in Sunderland's academy but was booted out when he struggled to juggle it with boxing. He told The Northern Echo: "I was in the academy from 11 until I was about 13. I was in and out of the academy and development centre. "I remember playing in one training game and Pickford was in goal! I did well. "I think I could have done OK in football but when I was making weight for boxing I didn't really mature as quickly as the other guys, and I made the decision to focus on my boxing. "I was trying to run both next to each other. I played for Hartlepool a little bit. But it's hard to focus on both. "I remember coming off one day and talking to my dad, a lot of the lads were a lot more mature than me, I was weight draining myself for the boxing and trying to diet and I knew I had to do this or that. "When I started boxing for England and going places, that was the natural step." Kelly was a decorated amateur, representing Great Britain at World and European level. CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS He went onto qualify for the 2016 Olympics but was eliminated in the second round by Daniyar Yeleussinov of Kazakhstan. Kelly then turned professional in 2017 and looked to be one of the most promising talents in world boxing, with flashy speed and eye-catching combinations. Josh Kelly vows to KO Conor Benn and slams Chris Eubank Jr in double call out But after drawing to unknown American Ray Robinson in 2019 and losing to David Avanesyan two years later, Kelly's career came into question. He built his way back up slowly, moving up from welterweight to light-middleweight, where he won the British title. But Kelly is eyeing the 154lb big dogs - quite literally - with his eyes on 6ft 6in WBC and WBO champion Sebastian Fundora. He told BoxingScene: 'Tall; awkward; readable; I feel like he's readable; he's a freak as well.' Despite weighing the 11 stone limit, Fundora stands the same height as 18 stone heavyweight Anthony Joshua. He beat Tim Tszyu for the WBO title and the vacant WBC belt. Kelly meanwhile also has Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn in his sights after their second generation grudge match in April. Benn, 28, moved up from welterweight for the fight but was beaten by Eubank, 35, after 12 thrilling rounds. Kelly returns on Friday in Newcastle against 24-1 Romanian Flavius Biea. But he said on his future plans: 'Well, Benn or Eubank or someone like that would be cool. 'So, just big fights – just ones that will get people talking, ones that will get people excited, ones where you get excited.'
