Disney+'s 'Alien: Earth' Series Sets Aug 2025 Premiere, Adds First Look And Plot Details
No one may be able to hear you scream in space, but that doesn't mean Earth is automatically safe from extraterrestrial threats. FX's Alien: Earth series is set to amp up the fear factor when it drops on 13 August, introducing fans to new monsters and possibly more Xenomorph types.
The eight-episode prequel marks the beloved franchise's first venture onto the small screen, featuring a timeline set two years before the events of 1979's Alien . Sydney Chandler ( Pistol, Don't Worry Darling ) leads the ensemble cast as protagonist Wendy, joining the likes of Alex Lawther ( The End of the F***ing World ), Timothy Olyphant ( Deadwood ), Essie Davis ( The Babadook ), Samuel Blenkin ( The Witcher: Blood Origin ), Babou Ceesay ( Severance ), David Rysdahl ( No Exit ), Adrian Edmondson ( The Young Ones ), Adarsh Gourav ( The White Tiger ), Jonathan Ajayi ( The Drifters ), Erana James ( The Wilds ), Lily Newmark ( Cursed ), Diem Camille ( The Great Silence ), and Moe Bar-El ( Honour ).

A new synopsis for the show was also shared, alongside a release schedule that confirmed a two-episode premiere and weekly drops every Tuesday:
'In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness).
The first hybrid prototype named 'Wendy' marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani's spaceship collides into Prodigy City, 'Wendy' and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.'
It was previously revealed that Alien: Earth would feature five monsters and mark the TV debut of a scarier Xenomorph. Noah Hawley ( Fargo, Legion ) directed and executive-produced the upcoming prequel, with franchise creator Ridley Scott also onboard as an executive producer. Other projects in the pipeline include a sequel to Alien: Romulus and a potential return to the Alien – Predator crossover universe with Predator: Badlands .
The series hits Hulu and Disney+ outside of the U.S. on 13 August.

'Alien: Earth' Trailer Hints At 5 Different Terrifying Life Forms, Including...A Predator?
FX is bringing extraterrestrial life forms closer to home, and it promises a terrifying time. The network has dropped the full trailer for Alien: Earth , which sets up the premise of the eight-episode prequel series — a crashed spacecraft brings a group of tactical (and synthetic) soldiers face to face with the all-too-familiar Xenomorph on Earth. But the alien isn't the only threat standing in their way. 'This ship collected five different life forms from the darkest corners of the universe. Monsters… Invasive species. Predatory,' says a character in the clip, followed by quick glimpses of various creatures, including a Facehugger, a giant jelly species, another bowl-shaped scuttler with tentacles, and more new, uh, friends. It was previously revealed that the show would feature five different species, so it's nice to have that confirmation in canon. While not explicitly shown, the Predator may be one of these monsters, as its iconic clicking noise can be heard at two points in the trailer. The use of the word 'predatory' also seems to be rather deliberate, and it's worth remembering that the trailer for Predator: Badlands has overt crossover references to the Alien franchise — namely, the Weyland-Yutani branding in the protagonist's eye and corporate vehicles. Set two years before Ridley Scott's original movie (for reference, Romulus takes place between the first and second movie), Alien: Earth is helmed by Fargo creator Noah Hawley, who also serves as executive producer alongside Scott. The official logline reads: 'In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. Sydney Chandler ( Pistol, Don't Worry Darling ) plays Wendy, with lex Lawther ( The End of the F***ing World ), Timothy Olyphant ( Deadwood ), Essie Davis ( The Babadook ), Samuel Blenkin ( The Witcher: Blood Origin ), Babou Ceesay ( Severance ), David Rysdahl ( No Exit ), Adrian Edmondson ( The Young Ones ), Adarsh Gourav ( The White Tiger ), Jonathan Ajayi ( The Drifters ), Erana James ( The Wilds ), Lily Newmark ( Cursed ), Diem Camille ( The Great Silence ), and Moe Bar-El ( Honour ) rounding out the ensemble cast. Alien: Earth will premiere on FX and Hulu (or Disney+ outside of the U.S.) on 12 August. 'Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition' Brings VR Game To TVs
Alien: Rogue Incursion , a single-player action-horror VR game released in December last year, is getting an upgrade this October under the name Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition , a re-envisioned version of the game built for those without a VR headset. Announced via a brief cinematic trailer by returning developer and publisher Survios, the game's Evolved edition will mark the flatscreen version of the horror shooter, with its official description on Steam reading as follows: Experience the universe of the Alien films like never before: re-envisioned for all PC users. An all-new action-horror entry into the classic franchise, Alien: Rogue Incursion transforms you into Zula Hendricks–the ex-Colonial Marine hellbent on exposing Weyland-Yutani's black-site experiments–on an extremely dangerous mission to the uncharted planet Purdan. With her synth companion Davis 01 for guidance, Zula must infiltrate the infested Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility and survive the ever-present threat of the most cunning Xenomorphs ever encountered, with both skilled stealth and serious firepower at her disposal. And when the threat she discovers has extinction-level consequences, Zula suddenly finds herself with humanity's fate on her shoulders. The original VR version of the game was released for the PlayStation VR2 and PCVR last year, and saw a Meta Quest 3 version launch in February this year, with its Part One subtitle added shortly after launch, owing to its cliffhanger ending, promising 'new challenges and deadlier enemies' for Part Two , although it's unclear at this point if the second chapter would include both VR and flatscreen versions as well. Alien: Rogue Incursion – Part One: Evolved Edition will be released on 1 October 2025 for the PS5 and PC.
