Inter coach Simone Inzaghi expressed confidence ahead of Saturday's Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Munich, drawing inspiration from his team's impressive journey to the final.
The Italian side aims to secure their fourth Champions League title, following previous victories in 1964, 1965, and 2010.
Inter's Champions League campaign began with a goalless draw against Manchester City in September, a rematch of the 2023 final in Istanbul. The team finished fourth in the 36-team league phase with only one loss and as many goals conceded in eight matches.

"It is always hugely exciting before every Champions League match, and especially when it is the final.
We fully deserve to be here because we have shown huge desire right from our very first match in Manchester," Inzaghi told reporters at the Allianz Arena.
The Nerazzurri demonstrated their strength by defeating Feyenoord in the last 16, followed by victories over giants Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and Barcelona in the semi-finals.

"These have been great opponents, so our place here is merited even though we know we still have to take the last step, which is the most important one," added Inzaghi, who deflected questions about his future amid departure speculation.

Seven players from Inter's 2023 final line-up against City are expected to start against PSG. "Every game is different, and finals can be decided by key moments," Inzaghi said regarding the match against the wealthy French club. "Two years ago we were not the favourites but we went toe to toe with City on the pitch and maybe we could have deserved more."
Inter faces the challenge of recovering from their recent Serie A title loss to Napoli.
"The mental side of the game is important. The players have worked very hard and of course we have put that domestic disappointment to one side," Inzaghi stated, confirming he has a full squad available.

"The players are all available and so it comes down to me to select my team. The players must not be obsessed, but they need to have the right degree of determination," said the manager.
While Inter desperately need to conclude what has been a rather disappointing end to the season with the results in Serie A by claiming the trophy, PSG is on the hunt for its first-ever triumph in the competition.

(Screenshots) Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer displayed visible anger towards teammate Shashank Singh after their IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 victory against Mumbai Indians at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Despite Iyer's match-winning unbeaten 87 runs off 41 balls that guided Punjab Kings to their second IPL final, he was seen berating Shashank Singh for his run-out during the crucial chase of 204 runs. The incident occurred immediately after Iyer hit the winning six off Ashwani Kumar's bowling. While the Punjab Kings team rushed to celebrate with their captain, the heated moment occurred when Shashank Singh approached Iyer. Go Beyond The Boundary with our YouTube channel. SUBSCRIBE NOW! Iyer confronted Shashank with strong words and gestures, clearly expressing his disappointment over the latter's run-out in the 17th over. Iyer was seen pointing fingers at Shashank, who remained silent but visibly disappointed during the exchange. The run-out incident took place on the fourth ball of the 17th over when Shashank was dismissed for just 2 runs. The dismissal came off Trent Boult's bowling when Shashank hit a low full-toss towards Hardik Pandya at mid-on. Mumbai Indians captain Pandya's quick fielding and direct hit caught Shashank short of his crease at the non-striker's end. While initial viewing suggested Shashank had made it safely, replays revealed his casual approach to running between the wickets. 'I don't want to be a one-season wonder': Punjab Kings' Shashank Singh The absence of a diving effort from Shashank added to the nervousness for Punjab Kings at that crucial juncture in the match. Despite the run-out incident, Punjab Kings successfully chased down the target of 204 runs with five wickets remaining and six balls to spare. Iyer's explosive innings of 87 not out proved decisive in securing the victory. Macron On Violence In Paris After PSG's UCL Win: 'Nothing Can Justify...'
Last Updated: French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the violence after PSG's UEFA Champions League win, which led to two deaths and 600 arrests. French President Emmanuel Macron condemned the 'unacceptable" violence that erupted during celebrations following Paris Saint-Germain's Champions League final victory, as he welcomed the victorious team to the Élysée Palace on Sunday. 'Nothing can justify the violent clashes that occurred in the last few hours," Macron stated. 'We will pursue, we will punish, we will be relentless," he added before congratulating the players on their win. Two people died, and police arrested nearly 600 individuals across France overnight as fans celebrated PSG's 5-0 triumph over Inter Milan in Munich on Saturday. 'The violent clashes are unacceptable and have resulted in a heavy toll: two people are dead, around 30 police officers and several firefighters were injured," Macron said. 'My thoughts are also with the police officer in Coutances who is currently in a coma," he added, referring to the town in western France where a police officer was struck in the eye by a firework. Macron hosted PSG coach Luis Enrique and his team after their victory parade on the Champs-Élysées avenue, thanking the players for their swift condemnation of the violence. 'These isolated acts are contrary to the club's values and do not represent the vast majority of our supporters, whose exemplary behaviour throughout the season deserves praise," the club said on Sunday. Macron also congratulated the team for their 'sublime" victory over Inter Milan. 'You are the champions and you have put Paris at the top of Europe," he said. 'There were 11 of you on the field, but there was clearly a twelfth man – the entire French public, regardless of traditional allegiances," Macron said, referring to his own loyalty to PSG's rival club, Olympique de Marseille. It was the first time PSG had won the biggest prize in European club football. Many of the team's stars, comprising one of the youngest sides in the competition, are drawn from the vast football talent pool in the Paris suburbs after PSG's Qatari owners shifted their focus away from signing star players like Neymar and Lionel Messi. A total of 11.5 million people across France tuned in to watch the UEFA Champions Leage final. First Published: June 02, 2025, 07:59 IST
