NBA prospect adds firepower to Wildcats' NBL title bid
Henshall put himself on NBA scouts' radars during a breakout campaign with the Wildcats last season, earning a nomination for the NBL's most improved player award.
The 21-year-old West Australian initially nominated for the NBA draft but withdrew with an eye to bolstering his future prospects.
"It is exciting to have Ben back while trusting us to help him chase his goal of the NBA," Wildcats coach John Rillie said.
"His shot-making and explosive scoring ability complements the other pieces on our roster."
Henshall will play for the Australian Boomers as they seek to claim a third straight FIBA Asia Cup title this month.
The 195cm swingman will then turn his attention to helping the Wildcats launch another championship push following the messy departure of club legend Bryce Cotton.
"Super excited to re-sign and continue my journey with Perth," Henshall said.
"Can't wait to play in front of the Red Army again and chase that championship."
The Wildcats have managed to piece together a strong roster despite five-time NBL MVP Cotton leaving to join the Adelaide 36ers.
US imports Kristian Doolittle and Dylan Windler have returned, while marquee centre Jo Lual-Acuil is a huge addition.
Veteran forward Jesse Wagstaff, Sunday Dech and Elijah Pepper are also on the books.

Josh Giddey at centre of NBA trade bombshell as Aussie linked with Steph Curry move
Josh Giddey has been linked with a shock switch to the Golden State Warriors, in a move that would turn the NBA world on its head. The Aussie is still waiting to get his next NBA deal as the Chicago Bulls play hardball on a mega contract extension in an off-season standoff that drags on. The Australian finished his fourth NBA season on a hot streak, which resulted in his value skyrocketing heading into restricted free agency. It was widely expected that Chicago would offer Giddey a contract extension worth $45 million per season, but that is yet to eventuate, with the Bulls hesitant to shell out that kind of money, offering him no more than $17m currently. And now, in a bombshell twist, on Friday, reports have emerged that he could be about to get his mega payday, but instead of in Chicago, it would be in San Francisco. The Golden State Warriors are currently locked in a stalemate with Jonathan Kuminga, and now there are talks he could head to Chicago, with Giddey potentially heading the other way. Warriors officials are understood to be of the belief he could form a deadly two-punch combination with superstar Steph Curry as NBA Insider Jake Fischer revealed that an offer is currently being thrashed out. 'I can report that there have been multiple teams that have reached out to Josh Giddey's representation about having interest in Josh Giddey,' Fischer said on Bleacher Report's NBA live stream. 'Golden State is one of them. Golden State would be interested, depending on how the machinations could go in some type of Josh Giddey-Jonathan Kuminga sign-and-trade, to my understanding.' If Giddey were to move to the Warriors, it would give them another ball handler and playmaker and free Curry up off the ball, while Kuminga would give the Bulls a young scoring wing. Whether it eventuates or not, only time will tell. But Warriors fans are definitely sold on the proposition of seeing Giddey team up with Curry in the 2025-26 season. 'This would actually be an ELITE pick-up,' one fan wrote in response to the rumour on X. 'That duo with Curry would be lethal,' another said.

NAT'S WHAT WE LIKE! Dockers legend back to face Power
Fremantle club great Nat Fyfe will join returning skipper Alex Pearce in the side for the Dockers' crucial clash with Port Adelaide on Saturday night. Both the current skipper and the champion former captain have been named to take on the Power. They are the only two changes for the Dockers, with midfielder Corey Wagner to miss another week with his ankle injury. Pearce — who said on Thursday he was excited to return and was primed for a run at the finals — has replaced backman Oscar McDonald in Justin Longmuir's team. Credit: Riley Churchman / The West Australian Fyfe is the like-for-like replacement for star midfielder Hayden Young, who lasted just 20 minutes against Carlton on Sunday before he was substituted out with a groin injury. The two-time Brownlow medallist played 60 minutes and starred in Peel Thunder's dour wet-weather loss to Claremont last week, after which Longmuir described him as the best player on the ground. The 33-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season. Pearce has played just once — the round 17 defeat to Sydney — since the Dockers beat Port Adelaide back in round 11, while Fyfe's season has been plagued by injury and he hurt his calf while warming up at half-time of the round 16 win over St Kilda. Besieged Port Adelaide have made a suite of changes for the clash after back-to-back heavy defeats. Captain Connor Rozee is back after missing the 88-point defeat to Geelong on Sunday with illness. He is joined in the side by Jack Lukosius — who is back from injury — as well as recalled forward Willie Rioli and first-year player Christian Moraes. Jase Burgoyne is injured, but Jack Whitlock, Hugh Jackson and Dylan Williams have all been dropped. Whitlock lasted just one game after debuting against the Cats. Speaking as he flew early to Adelaide on Thursday, Pearce said the club's cautious approach with his return meant he was feeling confident in his body. 'I am excited to be back,' Pearce said. Alex Pearce trains at Cockburn. Credit: Danella Bevis / The West Australian 'We've taken plenty of time, and the reason why I've done that is so I can feel comfortable. 'We've taken extra time to alleviate a lot of that risk and I feel really confident. 'The good thing is the team has been playing well and that's made me even more keen to get back and join what the group have been building without me.' Pearce flagged Brennan Cox could be the man to tackle star Port Adelaide goal-kicker Mitch Georgiades after a brilliant run of form where he has led the Dockers' backline. 'Me or Coxy, one of the two. We always share the load,' Pearce said when asked about Georgiades. Asked if he was in a spot to finish the season strongly, Pearce said: 'I think so, absolutely. That's the plan'. Fremantle have won 10 of their past 11 matches and will stay in the mix for a top-four spot if they beat the Power at the weekend. The Dockers have not beaten Port at Adelaide Oval in seven attempts since the club moved to the redeveloped ground.
