2025 FIFA Club World Cup SF: Chelsea to Clash with Fluminense

Rana Atef
On Tuesday, MetLife Stadium in New York City will host a thrilling semi-final encounter as Brazilian side Fluminense take on English powerhouse Chelsea in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
This marks one of the most anticipated fixtures in the tournament, which is being held for the first time in its expanded 32-team format across the United States.
Fluminense secured their place in the final four after a hard-fought 2–1 win over Al Hilal in the quarter-finals.
Chelsea reached the same stage by defeating Palmeiras by the same scoreline, in what was a high-intensity battle between the European and South American champions.
The winner of this semi-final will earn a coveted spot in the final, which is scheduled to take place on July 13, also at MetLife Stadium.
Chelsea already made history by becoming the first European club to reach the semi-finals in the newly formatted edition of the Club World Cup.
Meanwhile, Fluminense became the third Brazilian club to face Chelsea in this competition, following Flamengo—who handed Chelsea a 3–1 defeat in the group stage—and Palmeiras, whom the London side overcame in the quarter-finals.
The match will be an emotional one for veteran defender Thiago Silva, who now plays for Fluminense after spending four years at Chelsea.
Silva won the Club World Cup with Chelsea in 2021 and now hopes to replicate that success with his boyhood club.
It's a rare opportunity for the Brazilian legend to cap his illustrious career with another global title.

Barcelona Open to Lewandowski's Departure

Rana Atef On Wednesday, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that several Saudi clubs have expressed interest in signing Barcelona's star striker, Robert Lewandowski, a Polish international, in the near future. Lewandowski is under contract with Barcelona until the summer of 2026. He is still one of the key pillars in the Catalan club's lineup. The player has previously expressed his happiness to continue with the club. Despite Barcelona's desire to keep their prolific striker, the club's management is reportedly open to allowing him to leave if he wishes to pursue a new challenge and a suitable official offer is submitted. According to the reports, Saudi clubs are closely monitoring Lewandowski's situation, preparing to make a move if an opportunity for negotiations arises—particularly given the player's continued strong form both technically and physically. Lewandowski has made 52 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 42 goals, and played a significant role in helping the team secure the domestic treble last season. read more Japan Stun Spain 2-1 to Qualify for World Cup Last 16 World Cup 2022: Get to Know Confirmed Line-ups of Japan and Spain Group E Decider Saudi Arabia Bid Farewell to World Cup after 2-1 Loss to Mexico Tunisia Achieve Historic Win over France but Fail to Qualify Tunisia to Clash against France in World Cup Sports Get to Know Squad of Group D Teams in World Cup Sports Al Ahly Gift EGP 70,000 to Players After Claiming Egyptian Super Cup Title Sports Bencharki Hits First 2 Goals with Al Jazira Since Leaving Zamalek Sports Arsenal Possible Line-up for Nottingham Forest News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Arts & Culture Lebanese Media: Fayrouz Collapses after Death of Ziad Rahbani Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results
