Meghan Markle raises a glass of rosé and frolicks in a sun-soaked garden as Duchess teases new As Ever release on the eve of her 44th birthday
The Duchess of Sussex shared a video of herself carrying a wicker basket filled with flowers and bottles of As Ever Napa Valley rosé laid in white linen ahead of her birthday on Monday, August 4.
While Meghan's face did not feature in the video, it showed her wearing a short white dress as she frolicked in the grass, thought to be at her Montecito estate near Santa Barbara, California.
She showed off her stack of rings on her left ring finger, including her engagement ring, wedding ring and an infinity ring, estimated to be worth around £210,000.
She also wore a gold Cartier Love Bracelet, which costs up to £7,050, and a gold Cartier Tank Watch that once belonged to Princess Diana, both of which she regularly wears.
The clip later showed a view of Meghan's swinging feet as she sits atop a stone garden wall, clad in £720 tan-coloured Hermes Santorini sandals.
The words 'Coming soon...' appeared over the video to tease the launch of her new 2024 Napa Valley Rosé.
Shared on the official As Ever Instagram page last night, the caption read: 'Goodness in a glass. Right around the corner...
'Cheers to August!'
Meghan's latest post comes after she announced another product coming to her As Ever line - although some of her customers were baffled as to what was actually new.
The Duchess launched her lifestyle brand As ever earlier this year, releasing the first products in April, which included a range of teas, a raspberry spread, and a limited-edition wildflower honey with honeycomb, amongst other things.
She followed it up with an apricot spread and another honey, and in July, she expanded into the world of alcohol when she dropped her own wine - the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé.
Each release has been met with fierce excitement from her fans, and every product has sold out pretty quickly.
Now, the Duchess of Sussex 's brand has announced its newest product... but it might not garner the same amount of enthusiasm since it's not very different from her last item.
The company revealed on Wednesday that following the buzz surrounding the 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, it will be launching another wine, with a slight tweak - calling it the 2024 Napa Valley Rosé.
And it vowed that it will pretty much taste the same as As Ever's first wine.
Meghan described her new bottles as 'goodness in a glass'
'It marries the same harmony of notes from our first blend and creates an elegant medley of delicate yet memorable flavor,' reads a press release.
'You'll want to clink glasses with friends as the sun sets, toasting to a summer of joy.
'Barefoot or in sandals, dressed up or dressed down, this rosé may become your favorite accessory for alfresco lunches and dinners at dusk.'
In the release, As Ever listed some of the positive feedback customers had given the company over its first rosé, which included comments like, '10 out of 10,' 'perfect,' and 'elevated flavor'.
'This affirmed all of the love, time and effort our team, and our founder, poured into curating this blend to evoke the sun drenched spirit of Napa Valley, and the breathtaking tenor of the California Coast,' As Ever added.
'Thank you for filling our cup. Now it's time for us to fill your glass! We are pleased to share that our 2024 Napa Valley Rosé will be available for purchase next week.'
The brand also posted to Instagram with a series of images showing the new wine resting in beach sand.
It was uploaded alongside a caption that read: 'Oh, how we love seeing the world through rose colored glasses. Rosé colored glasses? Perhaps even better. Our new vintage of As Ever's beloved rosé is available next week.
'Stay tuned for more details and timing.'
As Ever's first wine went on sale on July 1 and sold out within the hour.
Customers were able to purchase three bottles for $90, six bottles for $159, and 12 bottles for $300.
Last month, Daily Mail exclusively revealed that the alcoholic beverage is made by Fairwinds Estate, a California winery that creates bespoke wines for celebrities.
The 2023 Napa Valley Rosé is described on the bottle as a 'delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish.'
It has a 14.5 percent alcohol by volume for the 750ML bottle.
The Daily Mail FEMAIL team tried the rosé and while the wine was smooth, we couldn't easily detect the notes of stone fruit. In fact, it tasted quite bland, and almost water-y.
In addition, the rosé had some acidic notes, leaving a somewhat uncomfortable sensation at the back of our throats after swallowing.
In the end, the verdict was the wine lacked flavor and tasted affordable and ordinary. It wasn't terrible - but it certainly wasn't great.
We felt the rosé just didn't taste like you bought it at a fancy vineyard, where it's supposed to be made, but rather, like a wine you would be served at a work happy hour.
The FEMAIL team also reviewed her initial set of products, and found that Meghan's raspberry spread was too thin, too sweet, and very runny.
Her hibiscus tea was extremely bitter with heavy notes of floral, with one taste tester comparing it to 'drinking lip balm.'
'It tasted like dirty dishwater,' another FEMAIL writer shared.
Some of us couldn't even bear to swallow it, as one person even spat it back into the cup.
As for her honey, we didn't enjoy the 'waxy' taste of the honeycomb or the super strong wildflower aftertaste.

Fox News anchor Jesse Watters makes startling prediction about glam A-Lister he thinks Barron Trump will marry
Fox News anchor Jesse Watters has made a startling prediction that Barron Trump will marry MAGA's newest sweetheart, actress Sydney Sweeney. On Monday's episode of The Five, Watters discussed the ongoing controversy surrounding the glamorous actress after she was plunged into the hot seat by angry liberals who branded her American Eagle ad 'Nazi propaganda.' After highlighting how Democrats have lost 'another culture war battle,' Watters playfully said that the president's 19-year-old son will one day wed Sweeney, 27. He said: 'Every girl wants to look like her, and every guy wants to look at her. And the Democrats think, "Wait a second, why don't we call her a Nazi and boycott the company?" 'You know how this ends? She's going to marry Barron and it's going to create the greatest political dynasty in American history,' Watters said as his co-anchors laughed. Watters' comment comes after Donald Trump sensationally gushed over the Euphoria star when hearing about the backlash she's received from liberals. Sweeney faced criticism after it was revealed she's a registered Republican. 'Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the "HOTTEST" ad out there. It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are "flying off the shelves." Go get 'em Sydney!' the president said. Although the president and Watters have thrown their support behind Sweeney, some people were left uncomfortable by the anchor's comment - considering Trump's son is eight years her junior. Waters' bizarre comment came as he and his co-hosts discussed the controversy surrounding Sweeney's recent American Eagle ad (pictured) 'Gross, could you imagine,' one user wrote. 'Threw up in my mouth,' wrote another. Someone else questioned: 'What makes him think that Sydney would even be interested in Barron?' 'Cringey,' another commented. While many were not onboard with Watters' idea, others appeared to agree with his prediction. 'That would be very cool,' one said. Someone else stated: 'Could happen.' 'A perfect match,' another commented. Clothing brand American Eagle has been under fire for days after running a 'racially charged' ad featuring the White Lotus star. In the advert, the blonde-haired, blue eyed actress was seen donning denim with the tagline 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans.' In the commercial, Sweeney said: 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye jeans are blue.' It almost immediately sparked a conversation about eugenics and racism online, with many people disowning not just the brand, but Sweeney as well. Sweeney is a member of the Republican Party of Florida, according to public voter records reviewed by Daily Mail. She registered in Monroe County, Florida in June 2024. Buzzfeed was the first outlet to report Sweeney's voter registration. President Trump was elated to discover Sweeney was registered as a Republican after her controversial jeans ad set off a political firestorm. Daily Mail asked Trump for his reaction to Sweeney's surprise voter registration after he landed in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and the president didn't shy away from his excitement. 'Oh, now I love her ad,' Trump responded. 'You'd be surprised at how many people are Republican. That's one I wouldn't have known, but I'm glad you told me that,' he continued. 'If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.'

Jesse Watters shares bizarre Sydney Sweeney and Barron Trump fantasy: ‘Create the greatest political dynasty'
Fox News host Jesse Watters has proposed Barron Trump and Sydney Sweeney get married and form the 'greatest political dynasty." He shared his brainwave about the president's son and the actress hours after Trump weighed in, again, on Sweeney's controversial ad campaign for American Eagle. 'You know how this ends? She is going to marry Barron. And it's going to create the greatest political dynasty in American history,' Watters said during Monday's airing of The Five. His Fox News colleagues burst into laughter. The 27-year-old actress has starred in hit TV shows including White Lotus and Euphoria. Barron Trump, 19, is the president's youngest son, and attends New York University. The ad campaign — 'Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans' — has been the target of backlash after critics took issue with its play on words, saying it evokes the language of eugenics, the racist and discredited belief that the human race can be improved through selective breeding. In the commercial, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed actress, dressed in an all-denim outfit, speaks directly into the camera. 'Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color,' she says. 'My jeans are blue.' Playing on the word 'genes,' a voiceover then says: 'Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.' American Eagle has defended the ad campaign. It 'is and always was about the jeans,' the retailer said in a statement Friday. 'We'll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way,' the statement continued. 'Great jeans look good on everyone.' Sweeney has yet to make a public statement on the matter. Watters also claimed Monday that those who took issue with the ad were "Democrats.. obsessed with Nazis." 'Why are Democrats so obsessed with Nazis? Everything is Nazis. When I hear someone has good genes, I think: hot parents. I don't think: Hitler,' he said. The president had started praising the ad this weekend after learning that Sweeney was a registered Republican. 'She's a registered Republican? Now I love her ad,' the president told reporters Sunday. Public voting records revealed that the White Lotus actress has been registered with the Republican Party in Florida since June 2024. She has neither endorsed nor supported Trump publicly. The following day, Trump was still opining on Truth Social, praising it as 'the 'HOTTEST' ad out there.' 'Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the 'HOTTEST' ad out there,' he wrote. 'It's for American Eagle, and the jeans are 'flying off the shelves.'' Trump then condemned what he believed to be 'WOKE,' including singer Taylor Swift, writing: 'Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.' Shortly after the president wrote the social media post, American Eagle stock soared. Throughout the day, stock rose 2.54 points, or 23.65 percent. Watters also praised Trump for supporting the ad, saying he was 'in on the culture' because he watches so much television. 'Trump, who is in the culture because he watches TV all the time, seizes on this, champions on this great American clothing company and the Democrats use another culture war battle,' the host said. 'They are winless in the culture war in the last couple years. They're like the Cleveland Browns of politics.'

Beloved local TV anchor dies aged 69
Beloved Boston TV anchor Byron Barnett has died at the age of 69 after a brave battle with cancer. The veteran journalist, who reported for WHDH for nearly four decades, passed away peacefully on Sunday in his hometown of Minneapolis, surrounded by his family. His station confirmed the tragic news in a moving on-air tribute. Barnett, a beloved and respected reporter across New England, was known for his political coverage, as well as his ability to connect with viewers and ask tough questions. He reported on some of the biggest stories of his time, including an interview with Muhammad Ali early in his career that he described as one of his proudest moments. 'For almost 40 years, when big news happened, Byron Barnett was there,' WHDH said in a statement. 'From snowstorms, to shocking courtroom dramas, and moments that changed our world, including the Space Shuttle Challenger explosion in 1986, Byron was reporting live from Cape Canaveral when the disaster happened.' 'It was his questioning of another sports legend that Pats fans will always remember, Bill Belichick.' 'Through the thousands of stories he told, Byron crafted his legacy in Boston.' His family also released a statement Monday. 'Throughout his four-decade career, Byron cherished the privilege of telling the stories of New Englanders who welcomed him into their lives. As we grieve his passing, we want to thank every single person in New England who entrusted Byron to tell their story.' 'And to all the viewers throughout the years, we cannot tell you how much your support has meant to him and our family. Byron often said, "He was so lucky to wake up every day and go to a job he loved." And for anyone who was part of his life both in Massachusetts and Minnesota, I'm sure we'd all agree that we were the lucky ones. Barnett retired in 2021. After leaving the newsroom, he was inducted into both the Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the NATAS Silver Circle. 7NEWS reporter Jon Hall shared a heartwarming message on Instagram about his friend, saying 'everyone loved the man.' He covered many of them. He famously grilled Belichick. He even interviewed Muhammad Ali!' Hall recalled their final dinner on June 5 saying' 'Byron looked great – we just don't know how much time we have on this planet.' He added: 'A lot of prayers went his way over the last week or so while Byron was hospitalized. Thank you all. I know his family appreciates the love.'
