Google's new Web View search experiment organizes results with AI
Search Labs experiments are a way for Google to test out new ideas by letting users opt in to those they find interesting. The experiments can be turned on or off at any time and include things like Google's AI Mode, Notebook LM, filmmaking tool Flow, and other, more niche ideas, like an audio show based on news from your Google Discover feed.
The new Web Guide experiment is a variation on the fan-out technique for displaying search results that Google is already using with its AI Mode. The feature itself is powered by Gemini, which helps Google better understand the search query and then link to other pages that could have been missed if using a traditional Google Search.

Google suggests the feature works well for open-ended search queries, like 'how to solo travel in Japan' or even more complex, multi-sentence queries. For instance, you could ask something like 'My family is spread across multiple time zones. What are the best tools for staying connected and maintaining close relationships despite the distance?'
Each section of the search results will focus on one type of answer to the query. With the solo travel example, Web Guide would display groupings like those focused on comprehensive guides, safety tips, links where people have shared their personal experiences, and more.
The experiment will be available to those who opt in and will initially reconfigure the search results on the Web tab on Search. You can also turn off this Web View from this tab itself, if you want to see the standard results without having to disable the experiment entirely.
Over time, Google says the experiment will expand to other areas of Search, too, including the 'All' tab.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold gets an official teaser — and it's all about the joy of opening things
It's not long now until the next Made by Google event, which should see the unveiling of the Pixel 10 lineup — one that includes the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. We already know a lot about the phone, thanks to the usual wave of leaks, and now Google has started officially teasing the new foldable. The teaser is in a similar vein to last week's Pixel 10 teaser, which poked fun at Apple for its continual issues with upgrading Siri and Apple Intelligence. Only this time it's emphasizing the joy of "opening" your phone. Not just that first unboxing, but also every time you get to physically open and unfold the screen. We then get a glimpse of the back of the phone. It won't be surprising to anyone who's seen the leaks to find out that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold looks shockingly like the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Based on what we can see, both these phones are identical from this angle, which doesn't suggest there will be major design upgrades on the rest of the phone. We do get to see another device in Google's new "Moonstone" color, which has leaked multiple times in recent weeks. So if you want your phone in a slightly different shade of gray, this might be the option for you. This teaser isn't openly taking shots at other phones. Unless Google's taking aim at all the phones that don't offer a folding screen, including its own, which seems pretty unlikely. So this is more of a "please buy our super-expensive folding phone." Leaked specs reiterate the fact that the Pixel 10 Pro Fold isn't going to seem all that different from the Pixel 9 Pro Fold — at least not physically. According to the leaks, we're expecting to see a phone with an 8-inch foldable OLED screen and a slightly larger 6.4-inch cover display, both of which should offer a 120Hz refresh rate. That extra tenth of an inch will likely come from slimmer bezels, rather than any major redesign. Inside, we're expecting to see the new Tensor G5 chipset, the same 16GB of RAM, a larger 5,015 mAh battery and a choice of 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. The camera is expected to come with the same 48MP main lens as before, joined by a 10.8MP ultrawide, 10.5 MP telephoto (5x optical zoom) and a pair of 10MP selfie cameras. While not physically visible, rumors also suggest that the 10 Pro Fold will be IP68 rated, the first foldable to ever have the maximum dust resistance score of six. It's also claimed that we'll see Qi2 wireless charging, which should boost the wireless charging speed to 15W and offer a magnetic connection — which Google is reportedly calling PixelSnap. Price-wise, we've heard that we may see a $1,600 starting price, which is $100 less than the previous two Pixel foldables. But I wouldn't get my hopes up for that, especially with tariffs always looming. Is agentic AI more than hype? This company thinks it knows how to find out
Over the past five years, advances in AI models' data processing and reasoning capabilities have driven enterprise and industrial developers to pursue larger models and more ambitious benchmarks. Now, with agentic AI emerging as the successor to generative AI, demand for smarter, more nuanced agents is growing. Yet too often 'smart AI' is measured by model size or the volume of its training data. Data analytics and artificial intelligence company Databricks argues that today's AI arms race misses a crucial point: In production, what matters most is not what a model 'knows,' but how it performs when stakeholders rely on it. Jonathan Frankle, chief AI scientist at Databricks, emphasizes that real-world trust and return on investment come from how AI models behave in production, not from how much information they contain. Unlike traditional software, AI models generate probabilistic outputs rather than deterministic ones. 'The only thing you can measure about an AI system is how it behaves. You can't look inside it. There's no equivalent to source code,' Frankle tells Fast Company. He contends that while public benchmarks are useful for gauging general capability, enterprises often over-index on them. What matters far more, he says, is rigorous evaluation on business-specific data to measure quality, refine outputs, and guide reinforcement learning strategies. 'Today, people often deploy agents by writing a prompt, trying a couple of inputs, checking their vibes, and deploying. We would never do that in software—and we shouldn't do it in AI, either,' he says.
