To ensure that happens, an aerial enforcement plan is scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday. It involves enforcing traffic laws to help make sure drivers reach their destinations safely.

The State Patrol's Air Support Unit is set to patrol in the following areas:
I-94 in Kenosha County on Saturday, June 21
I-41 in Fond du Lac County on Sunday, June 22
Why you should care
WisDOT said the aerial enforcement plan is a way to enhance public safety efforts. When in the air, the department said pilots can easily spot drivers who are speeding or driving aggressively. Pilots will observe a violation, then communicate with ground-based units to initiate a traffic stop.
The department said many of the aerial enforcement missions are announced publicly to reinforce the State Patrol's goal of improving safety through voluntary compliance with traffic laws.

Extreme heat, severe storm potential prompt NEXT Weather Alert for Minnesota
Sunday is a NEXT Weather Alert day for two reasons: extreme heat and the potential for severe weather. An extreme heat warning is in effect for much of southern and central Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin from noon until 9 p.m. Feels-like temperatures are expected to be around 100 to 105 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect elsewhere, also from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. If you have to be outside on Sunday, take lots of breaks inside or in the shade. Regardless of your outside exposure, drink more water than you usually do. Most of Minnesota, including the Twin Cities, has a slight risk (2 out of 5) for severe weather in the evening to overnight hours on Sunday. The biggest threat is large hail. Tornadoes cannot be ruled out as a possibility. The heat will continue into Monday with highs in the 90s, but the humidity won't be as bad. Monday night into Tuesday morning, the Twin Cities metro could see more than 2 inches of rain. Parts of eastern, southeastern and central Minnesota could see as much as 3 to 4 inches of rain. Things calm down on Tuesday, as the rest of the week looks seasonal with highs around 80.

Section of Center Valley Road in Outagamie County closed due to culvert collapse
CENTER, Wis. (WFRV) – Deputies in Outagamie County have announced a roughly two-week-long closure for a section of Center Valley Road due to a culvert collapse. The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office posted on Facebook Friday morning, warning residents of a culvert collapse in the Town of Center that will affect traffic for roughly two weeks. Deputies say that Center Valley Road between Meade Street and Ballard Road will be closed as crews work to repair the culvert. Wisconsin DNR names 3 cities as recipients of Catastrophic Storm Grants, totaling over $108k
(WFRV) – The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has named three cities as recipients of Catastrophic Storm Grants to help with damage sustained during the late-March snowstorms. In a release on Friday, July 25, the Wisconsin DNR named Antigo, Oconto Falls, and Rhinelander as recipients of the Urban Forestry Catastrophic Storm Grants that total more than $108,000. The grants will help assist the cities with damage sustained during severe weather, which included heavy ice and snow, from March 29 through April 1, 2025. Section of Center Valley Road in Outagamie County closed due to culvert collapse DNR officials say catastrophic storm grants range from $4,000 to $50,000 and do not require a dollar-for-dollar match. Grant funding was distributed among the following three cities: Antigo – $50,000 Oconto Falls – $14,322 Rhinelander – $44,000 The funding became available after Gov. Tony Evers signed Executive Order #256 on April 1, declaring a State of Emergency following severe winter storms.
