Yet Steve Perry left fans doing a double take as he took a stroll in a baggy black logo top and shorts, paired with dark trainers.
The Journey hitmaker was seen running errands with a paper bag tucked under his left arm.
The California-born singer, who had two stints in the band known for hits Open Arms and Separate Ways, pulled on a pair of sunglasses as he made his way down the street.
He appeared to be eager to go incognito, gazing down at the ground with a calm expression on his face as he walked with his new partner.
Steve quit Journey for the second time back in 1998, due to personal reasons.
At the time, he old SiriusXM station Trunk Nation: "The reason I left is because I was just truly burned out.
"My love for music was getting really, really questionable within my heart, and I kind of had to stop.
"There was no easy way to stop, leaving the mothership that I had so loved and worked so hard with the guys to build.
"It was tough. I didn't tell nobody — I just kept working, and then all of a sudden, it just kind of hit the wall, and I said, 'I can't do this anymore."
He also spoke out in 2017 when the band was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and simply said: "I am truly grateful that Journey is being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame."
Seventies rock legends forced to cancel concert during hit song - months after ditching UK tour last minute
The band currently consists of singer Arnel Pineda, guitarist Neal Schon, drummer Deen Castronovo, keyboardist and guitarist Jonathan Cain, bassist Todd Jensen and Jason Derlatka.
TRICKY JOURNEY
Steve's former band faced a sticky situation in March after they were forced to cancel a gig while performing one of their greatest hits.
Journey were performing at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo when an 'electrical incident' occurred.
The band were performing one of their biggest hits - Don't Stop Believin' - as the fifth song in their set.
But suddenly, power on the stage went off, and initially the crowd continued to sing the lyrics of the 1981 smash hit.
However, crew then took to the stage with fire extinguishers and soon after, a statement was released to the fans to reveal the rest of the concert had unfortunately been cancelled.
The cancellation came months after Journey cancelled their 2024 UK tour at the last minute.
But back in August, with members embroiled in a legal battle, the band gave no explanation as they put the decision down to "circumstances beyond their control".
"Due to circumstances beyond the band's control, Journey's UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately cancelled.
"Refunds will be made from your point of purchase."
The 50th anniversary tour, which had already travelled across the U.S., was set to begin in Cardiff in October and travel to cities including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and London.

I visited Coney Beach for the first time and left feeling sad
I visited Coney Beach for the first time and left feeling sad I had never visited the amusement park that has been on everyone's lips so I thought I should see what the fuss was about I visited the fairground before it closes for the last time this summer (Image: John Myers) With the sudden news that Coney Beach in Porthcawl will be closing by the end of this summer I wanted to see for myself why everybody seemed to be so upset about its closure so I went down for the first time to check it out. Living in Cardiff the nearest fairground and beach to me is Barry Island which was easily accessible by bus or train so we never ventured quite as far as Porthcawl. I discovered when planning my trip that I would need to get a train and two buses to get there, making it a long journey. My visit took place before this week's derailment on the Wacky Worm ride, which saw 13 children and an adult injured on Wednesday and saw the park close, until it reopened on Friday. That came after last month's shock announcement that the amusement park will be closing for good in October after 100 years of being open. The Welsh Government purchased part of the land in the area for a mixed-use redevelopment including housing, retail businesses and a school. Unfortunately this sign is no longer true (Image: John Myers) Knowing that the amusement park has been around for over 100 years, I wasn't expecting everything to be shiny and new so I was not surprised when the rides were slightly outdated and needed a lick of paint. However, personally I think it adds to the nostalgia of the park. Article continues below The fairground at Coney Beach had everything you would expect with plenty of rides for all ages, carnival games, food stalls and an arcade with a plethora of games to spend way too much money trying to win a toy worth much less. Stay informed on Bridgend news by signing up to our newsletter here There are plenty of stalls with classic funfair games (Image: John Myers) Of course amusement parks such as Coney Beach are targeted towards children, teens and families but I still had fun as someone in their 20's. One thing I thought was missing was a big ride, they had your classic tea cups, bumper cars and the sticky wall but they didn't have a large, impressive ride that would make it different from ones across the country. I tried some of the rides but many were ones I've already been on at other fairgrounds (Image: John Myers) However, one thing that was a standout was the famous warm doughnuts sold at the American Donuts hut that has people queuing. Steve began working at the doughnut stand in 1967. Now at 75-years-old he will be finally retiring as Coney Beach closes after this summer is over. Venturing onto the promenade I was pleasantly surprised at the different shops and food stalls there are along the seafront. The smaller independent shops like the cockle stand and surf shop made me feel like I was walking along a seaside town where everyone was so friendly and willing to chat. I was shocked by how busy both the fairground and promenade became in the afternoon as the sun still shone in the sky, beating down on the sand and blue waters. Kids laughing and shouting in excitement at all the fun things to do there really brought me back to my childhood when I would save up all my 2p coins to play on the machines. However, it also made me think about the park closing down and no longer being able to provide those memories for children to come. Speaking to the local people there and the stall owners, watching the children play and families laughing I felt the sadness lying beneath as soon it will all be gone. Article continues below I visited Coney Beach for the first time and if I'm not quick it could be my last, which now I realise is such a shame but I am glad to have experienced it.

Celtic fans demand ‘where can I get one?' as South American club release Hoops-inspired kit in homage to Parkhead side

Sharing the latest bit of gear, Sarmiento said in a social media post: "A t-shirt is more than fabric, it connects stories. "In 1968, Sarmiento used a design inspired by Celtic, the European champions. A Scottish club with an Irish soul. "Today, we relaunch that t-shirt to celebrate the union and the Irish legacy in Junín." The launch video shows a man in the Hoops wielding bagpipes, while a voiceover says: "More than a century ago, the Irish community brought work, customs, and a colour that will stay with us forever. "In 1968, Sarmiento decided to wear the green and white jersey like Celtic, European Champions. A Scottish club with an Irish soul. "That shirt became history. Today we wear it again. "A tribute to the Irish community, to our city, to its roots, which are also part of our history." Also shown is a captain's armband in tricolours emblazoned with a shamrock. And some fans of a green and white persuasion are enamoured by this top, wondering how they can get their hands on one. Celtic linked with ANOTHER winger and is Balikwisha a DONE DEAL One wrote 'that's class', while another said it's 'better than what we have and a nice armband'. A fan commented 'I'd buy one of these' while others asked where to do so. But it seems that may not be an easy task, as the club has confirmed an initially limited sale. Sarmiento said: "A beauty. The first units of the new model will be on sale exclusively for members at our stand at the #ExpoJunín. Limited units. "The Sarmiento Athletic Club thanks everyone who made this production possible." One keen Hoops supporter replied in Spanish asking if it would be available for online purchase and delivery to Scotland, but the answer isn't yet known.
