Former Clark County Council member pleads guilty to felony connected to Jamey Noel case
Court records show Ferree pleaded guilty to one count of conflict of interest Friday and was sentenced to two years in prison with the time suspended to probation. She is expected to report to the Washington County Probation Department and was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine.

Ferree had previously entered a not guilty plea in August after being accused of voting in favor of funding appropriations for fire and emergency medical services while they received personal benefits paid for by the service's funds in connection to Noel's case.
Noel was sentenced to 15 years in prison last October after pleading guilty to 27 felony counts including corrupt business influence, theft, tax evasion and official misconduct. He acted as Clark County sheriff from 2015-2022 and Indiana State Police began investigating in June 2023 after accusations of Noel hiring county employees to do work for his personal interests, using a business credit card for private purposes and falsifying documents to help an officer receive unauthorized pension funds, among other charges.
Former Clark County councilman John Miller, who was also charged with one count of conflict of interest, is scheduled to appear for his jury trial on Oct. 27.

Travis Decker Manhunt: Police Share New Evidence in Daughters' Murders
Originally appeared on E! Online Authorities are sharing more information surrounding Travis Decker's case. Over two months after the bodies of his and ex-wife Whitney Decker's daughters Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, were discovered at a campground in Leavenworth, Wash., police have linked the patriarch's DNA to the plastic bags used to kill the girls, whose causes of death were determined to be suffocation, per the autopsies completed by the Medical Examiner. 'Two of the victims each had two separate bags over their heads and the third victim had three separate bags over their head,' the Chelan County Sheriff's Office said in an Aug. 19 press release shared to Facebook. 'In addition, several cable ties were located on the ground in the immediate area of the bodies. These plastic bags and cable ties were collected that night by the Washington State Patrol Crime Response Team.' After sending this evidence for DNA analysis, authorities said that they believe Travis—who is wanted on first-degree charges of murder and kidnapping—is the 'only suspect involved in committing these homicides.' 'DNA profiles matching Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia Decker were also located on the plastic bags. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the plastic bags.' Regarding the cable ties found at the scene, the police department added, 'One DNA profile was obtained from the cable ties collected at the scene. That DNA sample matched the profile for Travis Decker. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the cable ties.' The sheriff's office, who has previously described Travis, 32, as "well versed in wilderness survival and capable of spending days or even weeks in the wilderness on his own and with very little equipment,' also confirmed that their search efforts for the army veteran continue. 'Decker's whereabouts remain unknown,' the statement concluded. 'At this time, we do not have any evidence to suggest Travis Decker is either alive or deceased.' Humza Yousaf : Tories 'deliberately trying to fuel hatred against asylum seekers'
Humza Yousaf has accused the Tories of 'deliberately trying to fuel hatred' against asylum seekers by presenting them as a threat to women and children. The former First Minister said politicians like Robert Jenrick were 'reviving the old colonial lie that people from the east are somehow dangerous savages'. Mr Jenrick, the shadow justice secretary, has said he supports 'every peaceful protest outside an asylum hotel' and later attended one in Epping, where an asylum seeker was charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl. Demonstrations against asylum seekers staying in hotels have sprung up across the UK, including in Scotland, with those attending claiming they are making their communities less safe. Mr Jenrick, who previously ran for the Tory leadership, said small boat crossings in the English Channel amounted to a 'national security emergency', adding: 'The truth is that mass, uncontrolled immigration has been fuelling crime and made women and girls less safe. ' In a video posted to social media, Mr Yousaf hit back at the Tory claims, saying it was 'predatory men' who posed a danger to women, rather than people from any one group, such as asylum seekers. 'Of course, those who do commit heinous crimes against women, be they asylum seekers or those who have lived in the UK for 10 generations, they should and must feel the full force of the law. 'But when you purposely single out asylum seekers, as the Tories are doing, you're not interested in protecting women, you're deliberately trying to fuel hatred. 'You're reviving the old colonial lie that people from the east are somehow dangerous savages.' The former SNP leader said such rhetoric has turned 'fear into mobs who are ready to set fire to hotels housing asylum seekers', in reference to a riot in Rotherham last year in which a man who attempted to set fire to an asylum hotel. 'It leads to bricks through windows,' he added. 'It leads to fire bombs aimed at vulnerable families who've already fled war and persecution. 'And here's the truth, violence against women is committed by men from every walk of life. 'Blaming asylum seekers doesn't make women safer, it just makes society more divided, more suspicious, more willing to turn on the most vulnerable. 'What the Tories are doing isn't about women's safety, it's about stoking fear. It's the oldest populist trick in the book, let's make sure we don't fall.' Trump administration sanctions ICC officials for efforts to arrest Americans, Israelis
President Trump's administration announced on Wednesday that it is imposing sanctions on four members of the International Criminal Court (ICC), saying they are engaged in efforts to 'investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute' Americans and Israelis without the consent of either country. The sanctions were slapped on two judges and two prosecutors at the ICC: France's Nicolas Yann Guillou, Fiji's Nazhat Shameem Khan, Senegal's Mame Mandiaye Niang and Canada's Kimberly Prost. 'The United States has been clear and steadfast in our opposition to the ICC's politicization, abuse of power, disregard for our national sovereignty, and illegitimate judicial overreach. The Court is a national security threat that has been an instrument for lawfare against the United States and our close ally Israel,' Secretary of State Marco Rubio said in a statement on Wednesday. Last November, ICC judges released arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, ex-Israeli defense head Yoav Gallant and former Hamas commander Ibrahim al-Masri, alleging war crimes and crimes against humanity in light of Israel's war with the Palestinian militant group. The State Department hit Prost for a ruling greenlighting the ICC's probe into U.S. personnel in Afghanistan. Guillou, the French judge, was sanctioned for a ruling to issue arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. Niang and Khan are the ICC's deputy prosecutors. Both were sanctioned for 'continuing to support illegitimate ICC actions against' Israel, including upholding the ICC's arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant. Israel asked judges in May to strike the ICC's arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister and former defense minister. The Trump administration imposed sanctions on four ICC judges over what the U.S. government has deemed as 'illegitimate and baseless actions' against Washington and Jerusalem. In early July, the administration levied sanctions against United Nations special rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, over her political 'warfare' against Israel. 'It remains the policy of the United States Government to take whatever actions we deem necessary to protect our troops, our sovereignty, and our allies from the ICC's illegitimate and baseless actions,' Rubio said on Wednesday.
