n a world where budget tablets often feel like afterthoughts, the OnePlus Pad Lite arrives with the promise of premium design, reliable performance, and a polished software experience without the premium price tag. It's clearly aimed at casual users who want a dependable device for streaming, browsing, and light productivity. But in a crowded segment with options like the Redmi Pad and Realme Pad series, does the Pad 3 Lite do enough to stand out6GB RAM + 128GB Storage (Wi-Fi): ₹15,9998GB RAM + 128GB Storage (Wi-Fi + 4G LTE): ₹17,999You can buy the tablet from the official OnePlus India website, Amazon, Flipkart, OnePlus Experience Stores, and other major offline retailers like Croma, Reliance Digital, and Vijay Sales. The OnePlus Pad Lite's design is a clear indicator that it takes strong inspiration from its elder sibling, the OnePlus Pad 3. The tablet features a sleek, unibody design that feels far more premium than its price point suggests. The build quality feels excellent, with a sandblasted metal finish on the back that not only looks sophisticated but also enhances grip and comfort.Despite housing a large 11-inch display, the tablet is easy to hold due to its impressive specs. It measures 254.91 x 166.46 x 7.39 mm and weighs just 530g. The weight distribution is perfect, making it feel perfectly balanced and comfortable for long-term use. If you carry this tablet around, you won't face any issues, whether you're using it one-handed or with two.In terms of features, the tablet offers a decent level of durability with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protected screen and an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance, which provides some peace of mind for everyday use. It comes in a single Aero Blue color, a muted, sophisticated shade that adds to its premium aesthetic. A black color option would also be a welcome addition to the lineup. You can also watch the unboxing here The OnePlus Pad Lite features a large 11-inch LCD screen with a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. It also supports a 10-bit color depth, which is great for watching movies and other media. The display also includes TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing, making it comfortable for extended use. We used it to watch YouTube videos, movies, and even a test series match between India and the visual quality was consistently excellent. For those who enjoy watching movies, we suggest getting a cover for the tablet to prop it up for the best viewing angle. When comparing it to a competitor like the Redmi Pad Lite, the OnePlus Pad Lite's display holds up well, offering a similar 11-inch size, 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 400-500 nits of brightness, depending on the model. While the Redmi Pad 2 offers a higher 2.5K resolution, the OnePlus Pad Lite feels on par in terms of overall visual quality. However, the software experience with OxygenOS on the OnePlus Pad Lite feels much smoother and more fluid to interact with, which gives it an edge. For gaming, while the 90Hz refresh rate is good for casual games, we found ourselves missing the smoother experience of a 120Hz display that is available on some other devices. For audio, the tablet is equipped with a quad-speaker setup that is a welcome addition. These speakers provide an adequately loud and clear sound, perfect for a media consumption device. They are also certified for Hi-Res Audio, offering an immersive cinematic experience that automatically adapts to the screen's orientation. The OnePlus Pad Lite is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset, which is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. This combination is more than enough to handle content consumption and basic multitasking with ease. However, for more demanding tasks like extended, high-intensity gaming sessions or heavy-duty video editing, the tablet lacks the raw horsepower, which is anyway not expected for a device in this price segment. The biggest strength of the tablet is its software. It runs on OxygenOS 15 based on Android 15, which provides a clean, fluid, and user-friendly experience that is a joy to navigate. The tablet is set to receive a promise of three major Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates, which is a solid commitment for a budget device. In terms of AI features, the tablet feels somewhat watered down compared to flagship smartphones. It lacks a full-fledged OnePlus AI suite, but some of the standout features include "Circle to Search" for quick information retrieval and effective transcription tools. The tablet comes with a large 9340 mAh battery, which, combined with the power-efficient chipset and 90Hz display, delivers impressive endurance and makes it an excellent companion for travel. When it's time to recharge, the tablet supports 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging, or what we've been calling "SuperVOOC Junior." While this speed may feel a bit slow compared to what OnePlus has spoiled us with on their phones, it is a necessary limitation of the multiple factors. We would also like to highlight that if you can, we suggest getting the LTE variant for easier access to internet wherever you go. This will help in getting access on the go. And since the difference is not a lot in pricing, it can be a valuable addition. For optics, the OnePlus Pad Lite features a simple 5MP sensor on both the front and rear, which is what we would call a "just about decent" setup. Tablet cameras are, for the most part, intended for very limited use cases, such as taking pictures of documents or using the selfie camera for video calls. They are certainly not a primary selling point and should not be expected to provide the same level of photography prowess as a modern smartphone. The cameras support video recording up to 1080p at 30fps. We also noted that the camera app lacks a built-in document scanning option, which we feel is an important and useful feature for a tablet. We hope OnePlus adds this feature in a future OTA update. The OnePlus Pad 3 Lite delivers where it matters most for casual users a sleek design, fluid display, clean software experience, and excellent battery life. It may not be a powerhouse for gamers or pro users, and the cameras are purely functional, but it shines as an affordable, media-friendly tablet for everyday use. If you're looking for a reliable entertainment and productivity companion without breaking the bank, this one's easy to recommend.

OpenAI releases open-weight reasoning models optimised for running on laptops

OpenAI said on Tuesday it has released two open-weight language models that excel in advanced reasoning and are optimized to run on laptops with performance levels similar to its smaller proprietary reasoning models. An open-weight language model's trained parameters or weights are publicly accessible, which can be used by developers to analyze and fine-tune the model for specific tasks without requiring original training data. 'One of the things that is unique about open models is that people can run them locally. People can run them behind their own firewall, on their own infrastructure,' OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman said in a press briefing. Open-weight language models are different from open-source models, which provide access to the complete source code, training data and methodologies. Separately, Amazon announced OpenAI's open-weight models are now available on its Bedrock generative AI marketplace in Amazon Web Services. It marks the first time an OpenAI model has been offered on Bedrock, said Atul Deo, Bedrock's director of product. 'OpenAI has been developing great models and we believe that these models are going to be great open-source options, or open-weight model options for customers,' said Deo, in an interview. He declined to discuss any contractual arrangements between AWS and OpenAI. Amazon shares tumbled last week after the company reported slowing growth in its AWS unit, particularly compared with rivals. The landscape of open-weight and open-source AI models has been highly contested this year. For a time, Meta's Llama models were considered the best, but that changed earlier this year when China's DeepSeek released a powerful and cost-effective reasoning model, while Meta struggled to deliver Llama 4. The two new OpenAI models are the first open models OpenAI has released since GPT-2, which was released in 2019. OpenAI's larger model, gpt-oss-120b, can run on a single GPU, and the second, gpt-oss-20b, is small enough to run directly on a personal computer, the company said. OpenAI said the models have similar performance to its proprietary reasoning models called o3-mini and o4-mini, and especially excel at coding, competition math and health-related queries. The models were trained on a text-only dataset which in addition to general knowledge, focused on science, math and coding knowledge. OpenAI did not release benchmarks comparing the open-weight models to competitors' models such as the DeepSeek-R1 model. Microsoft-backed OpenAI, currently valued at $300 billion, is currently raising up to $40 billion in a new funding round led by Softbank Group.

Bad news for employees of this company as it heads for another layoffs, sack hundreds of employees working at THIS dept, the company is…, not Infosys or TCS

Bad news for employees of this company as it heads for major layoffs, sacks 20 per cent workforce, closes core units in..., the company is..., not Infosys or TCS Amazon is making big changes to its audio business and because of that, about 110 people working at its podcast company, Wondery, are losing their jobs. This move is part of Amazon's plan to make its operations more efficient. In a message to staff, Steve Boom, who is in charge of Amazon's audio, Twitch, and gaming departments said that Wondery's storytelling podcast teams will now join Audible, another company owned by Amazon. The content made by individual creators will move to a new group called 'Creator Services' inside Amazon. This news was first shared by Bloomberg. As part of the changes, Wondery's CEO, Jen Sargent, will also be leaving her job. Boom said these steps are being taken to help Amazon grow in the right direction and offer a better experience to creators, listeners, and advertisers. Still, he admitted it is a tough time for the people who are losing their jobs, and they have already been informed. Amazon bought Wondery back in 2020 to strengthen its original audio content. Wondery became popular with hit storytelling podcasts like Dirty John and Dr. Death , and later signed big names like Jason and Travis Kelce's New Heights and Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert. Steve Boom said the podcast world has changed quickly. Platforms like YouTube, which focus on video podcasts, have taken the lead. This has forced audio-only platforms to rethink how they work. Making, promoting, and earning money from storytelling podcasts is very different compared to content made by individual creators, especially now that video content is more popular. By moving Wondery's storytelling shows to Audible and focusing separately on content from creators, Amazon hopes to adjust to this fast-changing market. Still, going up against YouTube's video-first approach is a new challenge for Amazon's audio plans.
