‘Bro is so awkward' – Olise gives brilliant one-word answer when asked if he feels bad for Auckland City after 10-0 win

MICHAEL OLISE gave a brilliant one-word answer when asked if he "felt bad" for Bayern Munich's opponents Auckland City.
Bayern hammered the part-time New Zealand team full of university students and sales reps 10-0 in their Club World Cup opener in Cincinnati.

And former Crystal Palace ace Olise scored two goals in the first half, alongside Kingsley Coman.
Strikes from Sacha Boey and Germany legend Thomas Muller made it 6-0 to the Bundesliga champions before half-time.
But goal-machine Harry Kane drew a blank before his replacement Jamal Musiala scored a hat-trick in the final 22 minutes as Muller made it TEN.
The gap in class was silly as Bayern bulldozed a side containing estate agents, teachers, barbers and a forklift-truck driving goalkeeper.
Despite the obvious disadvantage, with Bayern's squad worth nearly £700million more, Olise felt zero sympathy for Auckland City.
The 23-year-old was asked in a post-match interview: "Did you feel a little bit bad for Auckland?"
But the France midfielder simply shook his head and laughed before bluntly saying: "No."
And fans were left in hysterics with Olise's brief response.
One wrote: "Bro is so awkward."
A second said: "Olise! Proper mentality monster 👏."
Bayern Munich leave in new kit for Club World Cup
While another joked: "He's too funny, he gives Cole Palmer vibes."
A fourth chimed in: "A man of little words. What a gangster", before some fans noted that it would have been disrespectful to say "yes".
Auckland qualified for the Club World Cup by being among the highest-ranked Oceanic sides in the last four years.
Their amateur players had to use up annual leave in their day-jobs to take part in the tournament - with some even having to stay at home after not being able to secure the time off.
Left-back Nathan Lobo, 22, will be sitting a university exam from his hotel room during the competition.
The two teams have the largest gulf in terms of Transfermarkt squad value among all teams at the tournament.
While Auckland have a combined market value of just £3.9million Bayern's total squad value is £770million - the fifth highest among all teams at the Club World Cup.

Enzo Maresca gives take on ‘strange' Chelsea CWC game in ‘almost empty stadium'

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca praised his players for dealing with a 'strange' environment after kicking off their Club World Cup campaign with a victory in front of almost 50,000 empty seats. The Blues beat Los Angeles FC 2-0 in their Group D opener at the 71,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta in a fixture watched by a crowd of just 22,137 on Monday afternoon as a debate over the level of interest in FIFA's new-look competition raged on. Speaking at his post-match press conference, Maresca, said: 'I think the environment was a bit strange, the stadium was almost empty, not full. 'We are professional and we have to adapt to the situation, to the environment. You have to adapt when you play with a full stadium. You have to adapt when the stadium is not full, but it doesn't matter.' Asked about the poor attendance, opposite number Steve Cherundolo was diplomatic. The LAFC boss said: 'I think it is different each game you look at. In the Rose Bowl in LA, there was a huge crowd for the game between PSG and Atletico Madrid. Maybe LA likes football more than Atlanta? I don't know, we should judge at the end.' Maresca was nevertheless pleased with Chelsea's performance, but was already looking towards Friday's clash with Flamengo in Philadelphia. Pedro Neto broke the deadlock in the 34th minute to give the Premier League side a deserved lead at the interval, and they wrapped up victory in the 79th minute when summer signing Liam Delap crossed for fellow substitute Enzo Fernandez to tap in from close range. Maresca praised debutant Delap and quickly switched his attention to the fixture against Brazilian outfit Flamengo. He said on Channel 5: 'Very good result. At this stage of the season it is also normal that you have to manage different kinds of things. Overall the performance has been good. 'We have to recover. We have a game in three days so we will see. We are going to prepare in the best way and for sure try to win. 'The good thing about Liam is he knows the way we want to play so the process is quite quick. Also we gave a chance to Dario Essugo which is another player we have, so it's good for both of them.' Delap signed from Ipswich for £30million 12 days ago and it took him just 15 minutes to register his first goal contribution. The 22-year-old said: 'It's a really happy feeling for me. I'm so excited to be here and to play my first game, and be able to contribute is a good feeling. 'The team have welcomed me really well. I have only had a few sessions here but I am excited for more. 'It is good to help the team but I want to score some as well. 'It is always good to have competition, this is football. It is an incredible club and it is always going to be incredibly hard but you have to thrive off the competition.'

Transfer news live: Mbeumo's decision, Arsenal battle for Gyokeres, Everton sign Walker, Chelsea open winger talks

The transfer window is now open once more following a short closure after its initial mini-opening ahead of the summer's Club World Cup. The window has officially re-opened today, Monday 16 June, with clubs able to accelerate deals ahead of the new season. Liverpool are making plans for a Florian Wirtz medical later this week after agreeing a record £116.5m deal for the German superstar. The Premier League champions, who have already brought in Jeremie Frimpong, will make Wirtz their club-record signing after agreeing a deal with Bayer Leverkusen. However, they may well lose left-back stalwart Andy Robertson, with Atletico Madrid circling. Manchester United, who have secured Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5m, are negotiating with Brentford about Bryan Mbeumo, who would prefer a move to Old Trafford over Tottenham Hotspur even as Thomas Frank takes charges in north London – though Spurs want Mbeumo and teammate Yoane Wissa. Arsenal hope to bring in Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, and Mikel Arteta has made RB Leipzig striker, Benjamin Sesko, their No 1 target for a striker. However, the Gunners have reportedly submitted an initial offer for another forward option – Sporting's Viktor Gyokeres. That's according to Sky Sports, who reports that Mbeumo would prefer a move to Old Trafford despite Spurs signing his former manager Thomas Frank, and despite Frank's side having Champions League football next season. But Mbeumo will still need United to meet Brentford's valuation. Their first offer, of £45m + £10m add-ons, was swiftly rejected as the west London club seek a package worth more than £60m.
