Family Goes Viral for Showcasing How They Fit 40 People in Their Beach House Every Summer (Exclusive)
Alexa Caradimitropoulo shared a video on TikTok of her family's beach house in New Jersey, and the content went viral
Alexa recounts to PEOPLE how as many as 50 people at once have stayed at the shore house, making it the de facto gathering place for family and friends every summer
Alexa's mom, Cathy, also shares how thankful she is to have a home as big as hers to shareSummers are for family for one woman who has gone viral for sharing scenes from her parents' beautiful shore home and the community around it.
Alexa Caradimitropoulo, on TikTok @alexacaradi, started sharing glimpses of her life at the family's Jersey Shore home.
"I really started sharing last August. I first did a video, and was like, 'How many beds does my parents' shore house sleep?' "
The answer is well over 30, with as many as 50 guests some weekends. While Alexa has always been aware she's got a "big Italian and Greek family," she never imagined how many people would be intrigued by the setup.

"That video kind of went crazy. And then from there, I kind of just was replying to comments and posting more of the house. So in the last year, it happened, and this summer, I've been posting. People are engaging and really like the shore content."
The family's experience with the shore house began in 2007, when they found the perfect spot in Mantoloking, N.J.
"It kicks off Memorial Day weekend. Our immediate family goes down the Tuesday or Wednesday before to get the house set up," she explains. "It's a seasonal house, so we do have to bring the food, our clothes, everything. We move back in, and slowly, we could expect everyone — boyfriends, husbands, kids, cousins, friends of friends. Anyone you can imagine is welcome."
"Weekends are when the influx of people come in, but a lot of people do stay and work remotely during the week," she continues. "On an average week, there's still probably about 10 or so of us living in the house and working from the house. Then on the weekends, it's upward of 30 to 40 people."
Having that many people under one roof can be a lot for many families. Alexa is proud that the group keeps "really good energy" about their gatherings.
"In the New York area, it gets so cold in the winter. Everyone's really looking forward to being at the shore — good weather, good vibes," she says. "We're always making a new meal for dinner or a new cocktail. My parents are super, super warm and welcoming, so it feels like home for everyone there."
Everyone is so comfortable going about their business that "it doesn't feel like hosting 40 people. Rather, it's just like living among all those people."
For Alexa, it's special getting to spend time with family members in that way, as "people, especially as adults, don't get this time together."
"It really kicked off in 2020, the first COVID summer. This was just a weekend house, and then everything became remote, and that's the first summer we could all be together," she recalls. "Everyone stayed down there, and it's kept going every summer since. It's such a blessing to enjoy this time together, especially now that we have new babies in the family. It's time I wouldn't have gotten otherwise, so it's special."
"People realize what this is all about. It's not about having a big summer home. It's really about family," she says of her viral videos. "I love how people are getting that from my content. We're a super-close family and genuinely love each other. The positivity about it has been so kind."
Alexa's mom, Cathy Caradimitropoulo, tells PEOPLE, "God blessed us with this happy home and we are blessed to share it with others."

Aubrey Anderson-Emmons cleverly comes out as bi with help from this 'Modern Family' scene
Not everyone has the chance to come out of the closet with the help of their younger self, but Aubrey Anderson-Emmons saw a hilarious opportunity and snatched it right up. The actress-turned-singer, who played Lily Tucker-Pritchett on Modern Family for 11 seasons, came out as bisexual via TikTok on Sunday night. And she did so with the help of an iconic scene from the series. In season 4, episode 19 ("The Future Dunphys"), Gloria (Sofia Vergara) sets out to help Lily get in touch with her Vietnamese heritage. Lily, however, is a little too young to grasp the concept, and seems to believe that because her adoptive dads are gay, that's what describes her as well. "You are Vietnamese," Gloria says. "No, I'm not," Lily protests. "I'm gay! I'm gay!" "Honey, no, you're not gay," Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) tells his daughter. "You're just confused. Oh my god, what is wrong with me?" PHO🍲 #sofiavergara #camerontucker #mitchellpritchett #lilytuckerpritchett #lilypritchett #modernfamily #modernfamilyseason1 #modernfamilyseason2 Anderson-Emmons played the audio from the scene over a TikTok she posted to her account, lip syncing along to the dialogue she recorded over a decade ago. To make her point perfectly clear, she added a text overlay to the video. "people keep joking so much abt me being gay when I literally am," she wrote, adding in parentheses, "I'm bi." hehe happy pride month and to all a good night🤭 #modernfamily #lily #pridemonth #pride #fyp #bi An adorably inspired coming out moment if ever there was one! Happy Pride and welcome to the fam, Aubrey!

Wild Iris Musk Body Wash, the summer-friendly sister of the TikTok-famous "old money" Baccarat Rouge 540-inspired body wash. I am a massive fan of both — the moisturizing clean is so fresh, and the scents are so DELIGHTFULLY luscious without overpowering — but trust me when I say that Wild Iris Musk is *the* warm weather scent. It's floral, soft, playful, and grounded all at once. (And yes, just like the original version, it smells ... expensive 👀.) Magnets keep the balloons closed, so all you have to do to refill is dunk them in a safe water source and snap the shut again. Let the (kinda gross, but still cute) games begin!! An affordable sleeveless exercise romper you will be SO glad you bought on days when the sun is trying to bake you like cookie dough. Bonus — these are comparable to Aerie, Abercrombie, and Hollister versions that can go for three times this price! Dove Brown Sugar and Coconut Butter Body Scrub designed to be oh-so-gentle on your skin, with a softer texture that isn't as coarse as other brands but leaves you fully exfoliated and smooth. Plus there's the added bonus of smelling so yummy that you'll be like, "Oooh, should I take a bite out of my own self?" A four-pack of silicone straw soda can lids that are like, "Oh, you're obsessed with Diet Coke? Let me find you a reason to be even MORE obsessed." Reviewers love these not just for the ~thrill~ of a straw, but because the covers make the cans a whole lot more spill-proof, prevent your drink from going flat, and protect your can from bugs and debris during outdoor hangs. Patchology's Serve Chilled Rosé Hydrating Under Eye Patches for a little bit of extra ✨glamour✨ to your self-care routine — these are hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-infused to help with dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines, so you can take them off feeling every bit as refreshed as a crisp glass of rosé feels. An affordable, Lululemon-esque longline sports bra so comfy, supportive, and versatile that reviewers love it both for outdoor workouts, gym use, *and* errand running. This is designed to be supportive without being too compressive, with lightweight fabric that keeps you breezy in the heat. A roll-up wide brim UPF 50 sun hat to protect your cheeks from the sun's rays *and* keep you looking effortlessly chic no matter how many days it's been since your last hair wash. This one is a real winner because of how absurdly packable it is, making it perfect for shoving into a tote bag on long days and a suitcase on vacation — and how affordable it is compared to $87+ versions from brands like Bloomingdale's, Wallaroo, and Cuyana. A little rose-shaped straw topper for your emotional support water bottle so you can remind yourself everything's (literally) coming up roses every time you pluck it off to take a sip. This is an excellent way to keep your straw safe from germs in between sips! A lot of reviewers mention how genuinely *stunned* they are by how much this little bag can secretly carry. Unlike other sanitizer sprays, it's infused with aloe vera to keep your skin hydrated and has the most luxurious floral scents. An adorable, clear waterproof sunscreen bag to keep your various SPFs for easy access when you need to protect yourself from the sun's shenanigans, and to keep the rest of your stuff safe if one of your sunscreen bottles decides to go ~kaboom~. (Psst — these have the same vibe as the beloved Stoney Clover cosmetic bags that start at $68!) A wildly popular floral print sheer cover up for the perfect finishing touch to all your spring and summer outfits that won't make you swelter in the heat. Reviewers especially love how easily this packs (and photographs!!) for travel.

New Barbara Walters documentary tells the story of my dear friend
Up close 'View' on Barbara Barbara Walters left us at age 93. Her Tribeca Festival and Imagine Entertainment documentary 'Tell Me Everything' is on Hulu June 23. As teenagers, we'd meet steadily in her father Lou Walters' B'way nightclub the Latin Quarter. Me dating his club's star. She in college. Both of us nobody. In larger life, we lived near one another. We traveled together. I have her Bulgari wristwatch and two mink jackets. Together we sold her diamond jewelry. Her housekeeper now works for me. Once I had her favorite Chinese restaurant charge $1,000 takeout to me. Another birthday, $1,000 in pantyhose. Advertisement I had dinners, lunches with her. My driver Jose drove her. We shared the same doctor. People magazine quotes me: 'She didn't love you if you were nobody. You had to be somebody.' Visiting me was always in hat and dark glasses. Her Havanese dog was named Cha Cha. Summers we'd visit her Hamptons rental. We did Iran, Israel, Argentina, Italy and another dozen countries together. Taking one Italian steamship trip. She to make a speech. Me her Plus One. On our way, a doctor gave me Ambien to sleep. Five milligrams. Airborne, I took a second pill. Forget it. My head fell inside our scrambled egg breakfast. The crew had to tie me to a wheelchair. Up the ramp as the ship's captain saluted Barbara, the crew needed to strap me in and push me. Thrilled Barbara was not. Advertisement Our dining table was in a protected area so nobody'd bother us. Know that a nearby table of 10 shouters were knocking Barbara. We heard. I didn't know what to do. Barbara knew. Finishing dinner she walked over and told them she'd heard every word they said. Three of us friends were buying contiguous homes together in the Plaza Hotel's newly renovated apartment wing — Barbara, Joan Rivers, me. We'd have each other's keys. Always be together, safe, never alone. One by one that idea would not work. Sara Bernstein — behind my own Imagine Entertainment doc and always knows what she's doing — was involved in this one.
