Free agent Jabari Walker inks two-way deal with Philadelphia 76ers after 188 games with Trail Blazers
The move comes as the team continues to build depth at the power forward position, following the earlier addition of Trendon Watford. Walker, who spent his first three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, brings a promising mix of youth and NBA experience.
The Philadelphia 76ers signed Jabari Walker
ESPN's Shams Charania first broke the news, reporting, 'Free agent forward Jabari Walker has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Philadelphia 76ers, source tells ESPN.
Walker spent his first three NBA seasons in Portland, appearing in 188 games.'
Walker, a second-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft out of Colorado, had flashes of promise during his time in Portland. His 2023–24 campaign saw him play a key rotational role, averaging 8.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in 23.6 minutes across 72 games, including 23 starts.
However, his playing time dipped this past season following the Blazers' acquisition of Deni Avdija and the emergence of Toumani Camara.

Despite a reduced role, Walker continued to produce efficiently in 60 games, averaging 5.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 12.5 minutes per game while shooting a career-best 51.5% from the field and 38.9% from beyond the arc.
Notably, Walker made the most of his perimeter opportunities, especially from the corners; 45.8% of his three-point attempts came from the corners, where he knocked down 45.5% of his shots. Though the volume was limited, the efficiency stood out.
The 22-year-old stands 6-foot-9 and offers positional flexibility, capable of filling in at either forward spot. With his combination of rebounding, spot-up shooting, and size, he fits well into a Sixers roster that continues to prioritize youth and athleticism this offseason.

Still, Walker isn't guaranteed NBA minutes right away. He's expected to spend significant time with the Sixers' G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, as he continues to develop his game. His two-way contract allows him to be active for up to 50 NBA games unless he is later promoted to a standard deal.

‘They will never be forgotten': Mo Salah pays tribute to Diogo Jota and brother Andre
New Delhi: Mohamed Salah took to social media on Friday to send his condolences after his Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva passed away in a car accident on Thursday. The accident took place around 12:30 am local time in the Spanish province of Zamora. According to the Spanish police, Jota's car veered off the road while trying to overtake another vehicle. A tyre blowout caused the car to lose control and catch fire. Sadly, both Jota and his brother died at the scene. "I am truly lost for words. Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me from going back to Liverpool after the break. Teammates come and go, but not like this. It's going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won't be there when we go back. "My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents, who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother, Andre, need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten," posted Salah on social media. As per a report by ESPN, the funeral will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. local time in the Portuguese town of Gondomar, after the bodies arrived in their hometown on Thursday. The funeral will be held at the Matriz de Gondomar church, located 33 kilometres from Porto. A wake will take place from 4 p.m. local time on Friday. Jota, 28, was a key figure for both Portugal and Liverpool. Since joining the Premier League club in 2020, he has helped them win major trophies, including the Premier League, FA Cup, and two EFL Cups. In his time at Anfield, he scored 65 goals in 182 matches and was widely admired for his work ethic and ability to deliver in crucial moments. For Portugal, Jota earned 49 caps and netted 14 goals. He was part of the squad that lifted the UEFA Nations League title in 2019 and again in 2025, when Portugal defeated Spain in the final. The forward had celebrated that victory with his teammates just weeks ago. Teammate Endo Wataru also took to social media to reiterate the message relayed by the entire world - 'You will never walk alone' "Jots, I still can't believe it. I don't want to believe it. What a great player, what a great person you were. You will be remembered forever. My thoughts are with your wife, kids, and all family and friends. Love you, Jots. Rest in peace, Diogo and Andre. You will never walk alone," posted Endo on social media.
