is all set to give a musical tribute to the Indian armed forces at the closing ceremony of
IPL
2025.
On Tuesday, Shankar will be joined by his sons
Siddharth
and Shivam for the special performance, which is scheduled to be held at the

Notably,
Operation Sindoor
was India's decisive military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor led to the death of over 100 terrorists affiliated with terror outfits like the Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.
After the attack, Pakistan retaliated with cross-border shelling across the Line of Control and Jammu and Kashmir as well as attempted drone attacks along the border regions, following which India launched a coordinated attack and damaged radar infrastructure, communication centres, and airfields across 11 airbases in Pakistan.
After this, on May 10, an understanding of the cessation of hostilities between India and Pakistan was announced.
The IPL 2025 was suspended for one week due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. The matches resumed from 17 May across six venues, and the final was rescheduled from 25 May to 3 June.

‘Bakwas Sab:' Jaya Bachchan Scolds Paparazzi At Rono Mukherjee's Prayer Meet

Last Updated: The prayer meet was attended by close family members and prominent industry personalities, including Kajol, Ayan Mukerji, Tanishaa Mukerji, Amit Kumar and Salim Khan. Veteran actress and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan is often in the news for her love-and-hate relationship with the paparazzi. The actress once again had a run-in with the paparazzi, this time at a somber family gathering. On Tuesday, Jaya attended the prayer meet of late filmmaker Rono Mukherjee at their family residence in Mumbai. The occasion brought together several members of Bollywood's most respected film families who gathered to pay their respects. The atmosphere at the meet remained somber until an unexpected moment unfolded as Jaya Bachchan was leaving the venue with her daughter, Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Disturbed by the intrusive media presence, the actress visibly lost her composure and confronted the photographers gathered outside. In a sarcastic tone, she said, 'Chaliye… aap log bhi aaiye sath me… aa jaiye. Bakwas sab," expressing her displeasure at the lack of privacy. As Shweta helped her get into the car, the actress snapped again at a cameraman attempting to record her. She sharply said, 'Aao… aap gaadi mein aa jao (Come and sit with us in the car)." This fiery exchange quickly went viral, sparking a debate. While some criticised her for being harsh, others defended her stance, citing the need for personal space during moments of grief. 'But she is right, funeral prayer is no place to click a photo. And she comes from a generation that takes this thing seriously. Even my mother would have reacted the same, so why is she wrong?" read a comment. Another said, 'I have never seen a more angry person than Jaya." 'She has so much attitude," said a user. The prayer meet was attended by close family members and prominent industry personalities, including Kajol, Ayan Mukerji, Tanishaa Mukerji, Amit Kumar and Salim Khan. Rono Mukherjee will be remembered for his contributions to both Hindi cinema and Bengali cultural traditions. Some of his best works include films like Haiwan (1977) and Tu Hi Meri Zindagi (1965). Rono Mukherjee breathed his last on May 28. He passed away due to cardiac arrest. His funeral was held at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium. His son Samrat Mukherjee performed the last rites in the presence of family and close friends. He is survived by his children Siddharth, Sharbani and Samrat. The filmmaker was in his 80s and the eldest among the Mukherjee brothers. His death comes just months after the passing of his brother, Deb Mukherjee. First Published: June 04, 2025, 10:01 IST
