Look: Season 4 of 'Reacher' will be based on Lee Child's 'Gone Tomorrow'

June 13 (UPI) -- Season 4 of of the action-drama, Reacher, will be based on Lee Child's 2009 novel, Gone Tomorrow.
Each season of the Prime Video show is set in a different location and revolves around new characters whom drifter and former military police officer Jack Reacher (Alan Ritchson) meets as he crisscrosses the United States by bus and attempts to live off the grid.
Gone Tomorrow takes place in New York City.
No casting aside from Ritchson has been announced yet.
Season 3 -- which premiered in February -- was inspired by Child's Persuader.

This New Thriller Had Me Side-Eyeing Every Character—and Then Bingeing All 8 Episodes
If there's one genre that never fails to reel me in, it's a good old-fashioned thriller—give me suspense, mystery and maybe a murder or two, and I'm sold. I want the kind of show that keeps me up way too late, second-guessing every character and basically gaslighting myself trying to figure out who the real villain is. If you're into that kind of twisty drama too, let me put The Better Sister on your radar. The Better Sister is an 8-episode limited series based on the bestselling novel by Alafair Burke and it digs into the kind of messy, complicated family dynamics that are so fun to watch unravel. Jessica Biel plays Chloe, a successful media exec living what looks like a perfect life with her lawyer husband, Adam (Corey Stoll), and her teenage son, Ethan (Maxwell Acee Donovan). Meanwhile, Nicky (Elizabeth Banks), Chloe's estranged sister, is struggling to stay clean and keep her life on track. Then—bam—Adam is murdered and everything spirals. Jojo Whilden/Prime I won't reveal everything but I watched the first episode and let me just say this: the series does not drag its feet. It jumps straight into the drama, with Chloe walking into her living room and finding Adam dead just a few minutes into the first episode. It's intense, it's shocking and it completely sets the tone for what's clearly going to be a wild ride. We get a glimpse into the sisters' complicated family history through a flashback—turns out Chloe is married to her sister's ex and the son she's raising? He's actually her sister's. And the drama really kicks off when we find out that very son's DNA was found under the dead husband's fingernails. Oh, and Chloe apparently had a burner phone and texted someone on it right before finding her husband dead. As if that's not enough, there's a shady coworker who wasn't exactly Adam's biggest fan… plus a possible stalker situation brewing. So yeah, things are messy. Did I mention this is all in the first episode? So needless to say, this isn't one of those shows that makes you wait until episode five for something to actually happen. The tension starts building fast and by the time the credits started rolling I was already mentally side-eyeing a handful of characters, each of whom could very realistically be the killer. Episode one left me with way more questions than answers—not just about the murder itself, but about the sisters, their family history and what the heck has actually been going on in all of their lives. Thankfully, all eight episodes were released at the same time, so the binge was fast and furious. You can stream The Better Sister on Prime Video now. 'Minecraft Movie' to stream June 20 on Max
June 13 (UPI) -- Max announced Friday that A Minecraft Movie is coming to the service next week. The film begins streaming June 20. A Minecraft Movie has the highest box office of 2025 so far, standing at $423 million in its theatrical run. Jack Black and Jason Momoa lead the adaptation of the popular video game. Black plays Steve, a man who discovers the Overworld while exploring a local mine shaft. In the Overworld he can build whatever he imagines out of blocks. Steve also discovers The Nether, a world full of monsters, however, so remains in Overworld to keep The Nether from entering the real world. Momoa plays Garrett, a former video game champion who enters the Underworld with kids Natalie (Emma Myers) and Henry (Sebastian Hansen) and their realtor (Danielle Brooks). The new arrivals team up with Steve to stop The Nether. Jared Hess directed A Minecraft Movie. Max announced in May it is reverting back to HBO Max later this summer.

Yes, Prime Video Has Added More Ads Lately — Like, a Lot More
You're not imagining things: It does take longer to watch a TV show on Prime Video these days. The ad load on Amazon's streaming service has essentially doubled in recent months, from two and a half to three minutes of commercials per hour to four to six minutes per hour, according to a report from AdWeek. Amazon defended the move in a statement: 'While demand continues to grow, our commitment is to improving ad experiences rather than simply increasing the number of ads shown.' Prime Video was ad-free when it debuted in 2006 as an add-on to Amazon's Prime subscription service that offers free delivery of Amazon products for an annual fee. In January 2024, though, Prime Video introduced ads on all of its films and TV shows, asking subscribers to pay an additional $2.99 per month fee for an ad-free experience. (Other streamers like Netflix, Hulu and Disney+ all offer cheaper subscription tiers with ads as well.) 'This change will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time,' the streamer said in a message to subscribers at the time, adding: 'We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.'
