This will be the first WWE event to take place in Detroit in 2025. WWE was last in Detroit on Dec. 30th, making a stop at Little Caesars Arena on its live holiday tour, though the event wasn't televised.
The last televised WWE event from Detroit was a Friday Night Smackdown broadcast from Little Caesars Arena on April 12, 2024. That event featured AJ Styles defeating Kevin Owens and Rey Mysterio in a highly-contested triple-threat match.
WWE has yet to release the list of wrestlers who will be appearing at the event. Tickets go on sale on April 25 and can be purchased at 313Presents and Ticketmaster.

Logan Paul makes push for Donald Trump and Elon Musk WWE-style faceoff
President Donald Trump and Tesla CEO Elon Musk have spent the past few days sparring on social media. The feud began after Musk started "wearing thin" on Trump for about a month, Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy reported Friday. As tempers flared, wrestler Logan Paul hinted that he hopes the president and the world's richest man will take the next step in their dispute by meeting in the squared circle. Paul posted an edited WWE promo photo on his social media account of a hypothetical match between the two billionaires. Musk appeared in a photoshopped costume that featured the Tesla logo. The match was billed as "Summer Slam" and featured two dates in August. "Make it happen @WWE," Paul wrote on X, the social media platform owned by Musk. Last June, Trump was a guest on Paul's "Impaulsive" podcast. During the wide-ranging interview, Paul asked Trump several questions about pop culture — including whether the then-presidential candidate believed aliens existed. Trump also shared his thoughts on the emergence of artificial intelligence during the sit-down. Musk reshared Paul's video of the 2024 interview on X. "Logan Paul interviews @realDonaldTrump," Musk wrote at the time. Paul's "Impaulsive" YouTube channel boasts more than 4.7 million subscribers. Sports stars such as three-time Super Bowl winner Patrick Mahomes and wrestler-turned-actor John Cena have also been guests on Paul's podcast. Musk on Thursday made allegations that Trump was in the Jeffrey Epstein file. "@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files," Musk wrote on X. "That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!" Musk followed the post with another, saying, "Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out." Doocy also reported that a red Tesla vehicle that Trump bought during a Tesla demonstration on the South Lawn of the White House grounds earlier this year is now expected to be given away or sold off. Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has revealed to PEOPLE magazine that he has been diagnosed with skin cancer. This marks the second time in three years the wrestling icon has faced the illness. "It's the second time in three years that I've been dealing with skin cancer," Flair stated. He confirmed, "I will be undergoing treatment next week." Flair had initially denied reports about his health on X this past Thursday to keep the diagnosis private. He was now ready to share the news, telling PEOPLE that he does, "Appreciate the concerns!" from his many fans. This is the latest in a series of significant health challenges for "The Nature Boy." Widely regarded as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Flair survived a near-fatal health crisis in August 2017. He was hospitalized for stomach pains, which quickly escalated to the early stages of kidney failure and near congestive heart failure, a result of past alcohol abuse. More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation At the time, Flair's family was told he had only a 20% chance of surviving. He was placed in a medically induced coma, had part of his bowel removed, and had a pacemaker inserted. "I crashed in an airplane and broke my back, I've been hit by lightning," Flair said in 2017. "But this is totally different. Anything I've been through before is nothing like this." Flair's health struggles and past battles with alcohol addiction were a central focus of his 2022 Peacock documentary, "Woooooo! Becoming Ric Flair." In the documentary, his former partner Wendy Barlow commented on how he coped with the immense physical and emotional pain. "I don't know how he survived. What he did was go back into Ric Flair, to be a character, so he didn't have to feel," Barlow said. Flair himself publicly thanked Barlow for her support through that period after they split in September 2024. "I'll Never Ever Be Able To Thank Her Enough For Standing By My Side Through My Terrible Health Crisis In 2017," Flair wrote at the time. "She Never Left My Side! And For That I Will Always Be Grateful!" More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Stone Cold Steve Austin's Chill Call to Dale Jr. Catches Everyone Off Guard
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. How often does one get a call from Stone Cold Steve Austin, just to "chit-chat?" Amy Earnhardt opened up on a recent experience when the WWE icon called her husband, Dale Earnhardt Jr., to chat about the Earnhardt docuseries on Amazon Prime. Amy explained how Stone Cold called Dale Jr. while they were heading to the beach in the car and described it as a "gossip" call. Being a totally unexpected encounter, Amy questioned the surreal experience on the Bless Your 'Hardt podcast. She said: "His [Junior's] phone's always tethered to the car, because he's playing music. A phone call pops up, and it says Steve Austin, and he goes, 'Oh, Steve Austin's calling.' I'm like Steve Austin? Stone Cold? Stone Cold's calling while we're driving down to the beach? What is this life? How cool is this for you? Dale Earnhardt Jr. speaks on the NASCAR on Prime Video broadcast set after the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on June 01, 2025 in Lebanon, Tennessee. Dale Earnhardt Jr. speaks on the NASCAR on Prime Video broadcast set after the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on June 01, 2025 in Lebanon, Tennessee."He answers the phone, they're chit-chatting. I can hear Stone Cold because he's talking so loud, and he's wanting to talk about the documentary and DW [Darrell Waltrip], and he's asking all kinds of questions. He literally just called to chit-chat and kind of gossip, to be honest! "It was grateful. I got to listen in because he was talking so loud. I got to hear all the things. But that doesn't happen in everybody else's life, and it's neat to have the perspective. Stone Cold calling too in the middle of the day just to chit-chat was fun." Dale Jr. didn't hold back his thoughts on the pleasant surprise and revealed the attention he was receiving through the docuseries after its release on May 22. He added: "It's weird. They kind of come in spurts, so there'll be a lull of life being pretty regular and normal and then you know something like the documentary happens and all of a sudden all these little quirky things start happening and then it kind of teeters off. That was cool, I hadn't talked to Stone Cold Steve Austin in years. He just wanted to ask a couple questions about that documentary." Dale Jr. explained that the docuseries aimed to introduce his father, NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Sr., whose contribution to the sport was immense. Speaking before the release of the docuseries, he said to the media: "We're so far down the line from his passing and his impact on the sport that a large portion of our fan base in NASCAR has never seen him race. I feel like it was a great opportunity to introduce him to people that don't know him that well. There's even drivers in [the Cup Series] field on Sunday that don't know what this person was all about."
