CBSE launches two flagship initiatives for career guidance to students

The Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced two new programs. These are the Career Guidance Dashboard and the Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model. These initiatives will begin in the 2025-26 academic year. Rahul Singh, CBSE Chairman, said the programs will benefit schools and students. Experts presented the Career Guidance Dashboard.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday launched two flagship initiatives - the Career Guidance Dashboard and the Counseling Hub and Spoke School Model - for the academic session 2025-26 , officials said.These initiatives aim to strengthen institutional mechanisms for career guidance and promote holistic psychosocial wellbeing among students, they added."Both initiatives are designed to benefit schools and students and will continue to evolve through active input from stakeholders," CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh said at the launch.During the orientation-cum-interaction session, expert teams presented a detailed walkthrough of the Career Guidance Dashboard, highlighting its user interface, key features and facilities available to students, teachers and school leaders.Besides, a focused session on the CBSE Counseling Hub and Spoke Model explained its implementation architecture, school-level responsibilities and monitoring mechanisms.

Ranchi: Schools across the city have lauded the Central Board of Secondary Education's (CBSE) latest launch of the Career Guidance Dashboard and the Counselling Hub and Spoke School Model which aims to give students a clear direction in career planning while enhancing their psychological and emotional resilience. Both the programmes have been rolled out under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for the 2025–26 academic session. The Career Guidance Dashboard, accessible at will provide students with information on diverse career options, assist in decision-making, and offer necessary resources for academic and professional growth. The Counselling Hub and Spoke School Model will create a collaborative network between CBSE-affiliated schools, enabling 'hub' schools to offer mental health and counselling support to 'spoke' schools, ensuring timely guidance for students. A CBSE official described the initiative as a major step in improving school education under the NEP framework. Principal of DAV Public School, Bariatu, Tapas Ghosh, said, "These programmes are technology-driven, inclusive, and sustainable. Active participation from all stakeholders will make them even more impactful. The schools need a structured career and mental health support system." There are many options available, but we often struggle to determine which one is the most suitable for our career path. Consultant Grade 2 Consultant Grade 2 professionals will provide advanced technical expertise in policy analysis, research, and implementation.
