Forbes10-04-2025

IndyCar announced its new sponsor at Iowa Speedway, and it's keeping it in the state.
It's Sukup, a grain bin manufacturer that produces other manufactured units used by farmers throughout the Midwest. Sukup will be the new sponsor the IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa.
From 2022 to 2024, West Des Moines, Iowa-based supermarket chain Hy-Vee was the sponsor of IndyCar doubleheader weekend. It included two full IndyCar races and an impressive entertainment lineup that performed four concerts each year.
Hy-Vee will continue as an event sponsor of the IndyCar race weekend, but Sukup takes over as the title sponsor of the event.
Sukup Manufacturing Co. is the world's largest family-owned and operated manufacturer of grain storage, drying and handling equipment, and steel structures. The company is headquartered in America's heartland – Sheffield, Iowa – and covers over one million square feet of office, manufacturing and warehouse space.
The company employs more than 700 people, making it one of the largest employers in North Central Iowa.
Three generations of the family are active in the business.
Sukup constantly strives to push the boundaries of innovation and quality and currently holds the record for the world's largest grain bin that holds 2.25 million bushels of corn. The company prides itself on their philanthropic efforts in giving back to local, statewide and international charities including the design and construction of Safe T Home®, a patented structure suitable for recovery efforts.
Sukup is a global company with locations in Hedensted, Denmark and six distribution centers across the Midwest.
Sukup has had a long tradition of supporting motorsports and one of the most popular summer events in the state of Iowa as Sukup (SUE-cup) Manufacturing Co. will become the title sponsor of the annual IndyCar race weekend at Iowa Speedway, set for July 11-13, 2025.
It features the only NTT IndyCar doubleheader weekend on the 2025 schedule, Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend has become one of the most anticipated and action-packed events in racing.
Tickets for the event at Iowa Speedway will go on sale on Tuesday, April 15.
Sukup has been a dedicated supporter of the IndyCar event at Iowa Speedway for many years. The company has sponsored the Sukup 100 INDY NXT by Firestone race at Iowa in the past and the community-focused manufacturer has been a longtime sponsor of IndyCar Pole Day during previous events at Iowa Speedway.
Sukup's history with IndyCar at Iowa and the company's commitment to becoming the title sponsor of the 2025 event highlights their dedication to both the sport and to hosting one of the most popular annual events in their home state.
'Sukup has built itself from a successful family-owned company into a trusted, innovative and dedicated national brand committed to delivering quality products to its customers while supporting communities across the state of Iowa,' said Kristin Stepinski, General Manager of Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend. 'Iowa is the leader in agricultural technology and Sukup sets the pace for innovation and world-class manufacturing in the industry.
'We are excited to partner with one of Iowa's leading companies for Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway.'
The 2025 Sukup IndyCar Race Weekend will officially get underway on Friday, July 11, with the return of Free Family Friday. This exciting day will wave the green flag on a thrilling three-day festival of speed with free gate admission for all fans.
On Saturday, July 12, the rising stars of INDY NXT by Firestone will host the first race of the weekend on the Iowa Speedway short oval (1:30 pm ET on FS1). The first NTT IndyCar Series race will then take the green flag on Saturday afternoon (5 pm ET on FOX). The wheel-to-wheel racing action at the 'Fastest Short Track on the Planet' will continue on Sunday, July 13 with the second and final NTT IndyCar Series race of the weekend (2 pm ET on FOX).
As Sukup Manufacturing Co. celebrates its 62nd anniversary in 2025, the company looks forward to its first opportunity to serve as title sponsor of IndyCar Race Weekend at its home track.
'As the world's largest family-owned manufacturer of grain storage, drying, and handling equipment, we're proud to support an event that celebrates innovation, performance, and the future of agriculture,' said Steve Sukup, President and CEO of Sukup Manufacturing Co. 'IndyCar's continued commitment to using ethanol in its 100 percent renewable racing fuel showcases the power and potential of agricultural products in high-performance environments.
'It's a natural fit for us to partner with a series that reflects the values of our customers and the communities we serve.'
Last year, in the opening race of the action-packed IndyCar Race Weekend at Iowa Speedway, Louis Foster secured the first oval win of his young career in the INDY NXT by Firestone race. The victory helped him win the INDY NXT championship and pave the way for joining the NTT IndyCar Series this season.
In the first race of the NTT IndyCar Series doubleheader, Team Penske's Scott McLaughlin drove the No. 3 XPEL Chevrolet to victory, representing his first career IndyCar oval win.
Team Penske completed the IndyCar weekend sweep on Sunday as Will Power earned his first career victory at Iowa Speedway in his 19th start at the 7/8 of a mile oval.

Drug maker Indivior to abandon London stock market for the US

Drug maker Indivior has announced plans to delist its shares from the London Stock Exchange (LSE), marking the latest company to abandon the UK market for the US. However, the LSE welcomes Anglo-American's platinum spin-off Valterra after becoming independent from the mining giant. Indivior's exit comes after the company moved its primary listing to the US's Nasdaq index last year. It said cancelling the secondary listing in London eliminates 'cost and complexity' and better reflects the business – with more than 80% of its revenues generated in the US. It also said liquidity on the Nasdaq now 'far outweighs' that of the LSE with a greater level of trading. The US-based pharmaceutical firm makes prescription medicines to treat opioid addiction, and has a market capitalisation of £1.2 billion. 'A single primary listing on Nasdaq best reflects the profile of Indivior's business,' chairman David Wheadon said. 'We appreciate the support received from shareholders for this initiative and look forward to capitalising on the expected benefits of this move, including reductions in cost and complexity.' The LSE faced the largest exodus of companies since the global financial crisis in 2024, according to EY analysis. There were 88 companies to delist or transfer their primary listing from the main market – the most since 2009. At the same time, the LSE struggled to attract as many new companies to fill the gaps – with 18 new listings in total last year. Nevertheless, Indivior's exit, which will take effect from July 25, comes as Valterra Platinum makes its debut on the London market. Anglo American spun off its platinum business into the new entity, which has become the world's most valuable producer of the metal. Valterra will have its secondary listing on the LSE, with its primary on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Duncan Wanblad, Anglo American's chief executive, said: 'Valterra Platinum has been a major part of the company for many years but now is the right time for it to optimise its value creation prospects on an independent path – it's an outstanding business and team and I have every confidence that Valterra Platinum will thrive as a leader in the global platinum group metals industry.' Sanofi buys US biopharma group Blueprint in $9.1 billion deal

PARIS (Reuters) -French pharma group Sanofi has agreed to buy US-based Blueprint Medicines Corporation, a biopharmaceutical company specializing in systemic mastocytosis, a rare immunological disease, the companies said on Monday. Under the terms of the acquisition, Sanofi will pay $129.00 per share in cash, representing an equity value of approximately $9.1 billion. The acquisition "represents a strategic step forward in our rare and immunology portfolios. It enhances our pipeline and accelerates our transformation into the world's leading immunology company," said Sanofi CEO Paul Hudson. The deal will add to Sanofi's portfolio the rare immunology disease drug Ayvakit/Ayvakyt (avapritinib), approved in the US and the EU, and a promising advanced and early-stage immunology pipeline. Blueprint's established presence among allergists, dermatologists, and immunologists is also expected to enhance Sanofi's growing immunology pipeline, the companies said. Ayvakit/Ayvakyt is the only approved medicine for advanced and indolent systemic mastocytosis, a rare immunology disease, which is characterized by the accumulation and activation of aberrant mast cells in bone marrow, skin, the gastrointestinal tract, and other organs. The acquisition will also bring elenestinib, a next-generation medicine for systemic mastocytosis, as well as BLU-808, a highly selective and potent oral wild-type KIT inhibitor that has the potential to treat a broad range of diseases in immunology. Besides $129.00 per share in cash at the closing of the deal, Blueprint shareholders will also receive one non-tradeable contingent value right (CVR) which will entitle the holder to receive two potential milestone payments of $2 and $4 per CVR for the achievement, respectively, of future development and regulatory milestones for BLU-808. The total equity value of the transaction, including potential CVR payments, represents approximately $9.5 billion on a fully diluted basis. Hudson said the deal complements recent acquisitions of other early-stage medicines that remain Sanofi's main field of interest and added that Sanofi still retains a sizeable capacity for further acquisitions.
