Arab Group at UN Rejects Israeli Proposal on Gaza Aid - Jordan News
Arab Group at UN Rejects Israeli Proposal on Gaza Aid The United Arab Emirates' Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Mohamed Abushahab, affirmed last night the Arab Group's firm rejection of the alternative system proposed by Israel regarding humanitarian aid in Gaza, citing its violation of fundamental humanitarian principles. اضافة اعلان Abushahab stated that the proposed mechanism "deprives thousands of people—particularly women, the elderly, and the injured—of life-saving assistance." He also strongly condemned what he described as Israel's arbitrary restrictions on UNRWA and its illegitimate decisions to ban the agency's work. He called on the international community to strengthen political and financial support for UNRWA to ensure the continuity of its essential services. The Arab Group reiterated its outright rejection of any attempts at forcibly displacing the Palestinian people or seizing their land and heritage. In this context, Abushahab referenced the upcoming international conference to be held at the UN next month focused on implementing the two-state solution, urging the international community and all concerned parties to intensify efforts to ensure the conference produces meaningful, actionable outcomes. Algeria's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Toufik Goudjil, also rejected the Israeli aid distribution plan, saying it "falls far short of meeting the urgent and essential needs of more than two million people." He called for a comprehensive and permanent end to the aggression, the lifting of the siege on Gaza, the opening of border crossings for humanitarian aid, and the cessation of all forms of forced displacement. Meanwhile, Palestine's Permanent Representative to the UN, Riyad Mansour, declared, "If further evidence was needed to prove an intent to destroy the Palestinian people in Gaza, then this manufactured famine is definitive proof." Mansour emphasized that the Israeli aid proposal was rejected by all UN agencies and humanitarian organizations because it merely perpetuates the weaponization of aid by pushing civilians and humanitarian workers into military zones to receive or distribute assistance—despite the grave risks to their lives. He concluded by stressing that "the only reason for the dire humanitarian situation is Israel's continued obstruction and rejection of aid," and called on the UN Security Council, the General Assembly, and all member states to urgently consider all possible measures—without exception—to break the siege on more than two million people and end what he called a "brutal famine."

Hamas reports deadly operations against 'Israeli' forces in Gaza
Hamas' military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, reported Monday several operations carried out by its fighters against the 'Israeli' military as battles in the Gaza Strip rage. A gathering of 'Israeli' forces was hit with mortar shells – including 120mm and 60mm rounds – on May 31 east of Al-Qarara town, near Khan Younis in south Gaza. Another military post was hit with three short-range 'Rajoum' rockets on the same day, according to the statement. On Sunday, Al-Qassam said it struck an 'Israeli' D9 military bulldozer with a 'Yassin-105' anti-armor rocket in the Qizan Al-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis. In another incident in the same area, the group said it targeted an 'Israeli' tank with a 'Shawaz' explosive device and a 'Yassin 105' anti-armor round. Yesterday, 'Israeli' defense minister said Sunday that he had ordered the army to push ahead with its fight on Gaza "regardless of any negotiations", after a US envoy called the group's latest response to a truce proposal unacceptable. "I have instructed the IDF (military) to continue forward in Gaza against all targets, regardless of any negotiations", Israel Katz said in a statement.

OCHA: Israeli Occupation Squeezing Gaza Civilians into Just 18% of the Strip - Jordan News
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed that, with the expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza, less than 18% of the Strip remains designated as areas where civilians are permitted to be present. The rest of the territory is either under direct Israeli control or designated as evacuation zones, subject to continuous bombardment. اضافة اعلان According to the UN News Centre on Monday, OCHA noted that displacement continues across the Gaza Strip, with around 200,000 people displaced in just the past two weeks alone. The United Nations described the catastrophic situation in Gaza as the worst since the beginning of the war, with ongoing airstrikes across the Strip, especially in the north, where the last partially functioning hospital was forced to evacuate. OCHA emphasized that the humanitarian operation in Gaza is among the most obstructed in the modern history of global humanitarian response. Since March, Israeli authorities have imposed a near-total blockade on humanitarian aid and goods, allowing only a trickle of supplies in the past two weeks — what the UN described as "a drop in the ocean" compared to the actual needs of the population. The UN and its partners have been unable to deliver most of these limited supplies to civilians due to Israeli restrictions and widespread insecurity. A significant portion of the aid that did enter was looted by desperate residents, many simply trying to feed their families. – (Petra)
