Expect the unexpected from the Queen! Lady Gaga's 2019 Met Gala entrance will always be remembered for years to come. We can only hope and wish to see the singer-actor grace the 2025 Met Gala. In 2019, Lady Gaga had everyone gasp at every step she took. Lady Gaga had four outfit changes on the MET stairs, and it was red-carpet worthy. Lady Gaga entered wearing a voluminous, vibrant, pin gown designed by Brandon Maxwell, and as she progressed up the stairs ditched the items of her body one piece at a time. Lady Gaga's bold performance added drama to the MET theme, which was Camp: Notes on Fashion.
The CAT-astrophic Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld
The Met Gala 2023 theme was Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, and it was a tribute to the fashion designer who passed away in 2019. While celebrities including Alia Bhatt, Dua Lipa, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Kim Kardashian honoured Karl and his legacy through an array of statement pieces, actor Jared Leto and singer Doja Cat decided to pay tribute to Karl's beloved cat, Choupette. Jared was dressed head to toe in a costume of a Persian white cat. Also, Doja Cat adorned an Oscar de la Renta silver and white ombre sea and bugle bead gown with a white feather train. The highlight of her look was the prosthetic cat face makeup done by the talented artist Malina Stearns.
A Lively Showcase At Met 2022
Blake Lively, who was co-chair for the MET Gala 2022, impressed everyone with her fashionable performance on the iconic stairs. The Met Gala 2022 theme was In America: An Anthology of Fashion which focused on Gilded Glamour. Blake graced the stairs in an Atelier Versace gown. But there was more to Blake's ensemble, the drama unfolded when she unwrapped the copper-coloured bow on her gown and unveiled a long powder blue train. She paired her ensemble with a matching set of opera gloves and a dazzling tiara.
Inspired by New York City architecture, the ensemble paid homage to the Grand Central Station and the Statue of Liberty. Blake thought that instead of looking at fashion to influence the dress, she looked through the New York City architecture. Blake's train drew inspiration from the constellation of the Grand Central Station, the fitted dress resonated with the Empire State building and the draping, and the crown was inspired by the Statue of Liberty. The tiara featured 25 stones similar to the 25 windows on the crown of the Statue of Liberty.

Zendaya's Cinderella Moment
At the MET Gala in 2019, Zendaya lived her fairytale alongside her fairy godmother, stylist Law Roach. Creating magic on the carpet, Zendaya dressed as Cinderella and her entrance saw her dress light up as Law moved his wand. The Tommy Hilfiger voluminous gown was paired with a customised clutch which was shaped like the pumpkin carriage, a iconic feature in the classic fairytale.
