EuroMillions winner comes forward to claim £208m jackpot
The winner, who purchased the ticket in a retail outlet in Co Cork, has scooped an astonishing €250 million and marks the largest ever EuroMillions win in Irish history.
This is also the 18th time the jackpot has been claimed by an Irish player.
The winning numbers from Tuesday's draw were 13, 22, 23, 44 and 49, with lucky stars 3 and 5.
Earlier in the week, Cian Murphy, chief executive of the Irish National Lottery, had offered advice to the then-unidentified winner, urging them to "stay calm" as the "massive" win could come as a shock.
The €250 million sum, equivalent to approximately £208 million, represents the maximum possible EuroMillions jackpot, which is capped once it reaches this monumental figure.
This jackpot reached the maximum amount on 6 June after rolling over several times.
In total, more than 92,000 players in Ireland won prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.
The last Irish winner of the EuroMillions jackpot was in February 2022, when a person won 30.9 million euro with a quick pick ticket they purchased at a service station in Ballina, Co Tipperary.

House prices increased by 7.8 per cent in the 12 months to June, according to new figures. This matched the same rate of house inflation there was in the 12 months to May (7.8 per cent). The median price of a dwelling purchased in the 12 months to June was €370,000. The highest median price for a dwelling in the 12 months to June was €675,000 in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, while the lowest median price was €190,000 in Leitrim. In June 2025, 4,029 dwelling purchases by households were filed with the Revenue Commissioners at a total value of €1.7 billion. 'The region outside of Dublin that saw the largest growth in house prices was the West (Galway, Mayo, and Roscommon) at 10.3 per cent, while at the other end of the scale, the South-East (Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, and Wexford) saw a 7.1 per cent rise. McDonald's quietly axes beloved burger and dessert from UK menus leaving customers ‘in tears'
MCDONALD'S has quietly axed two more menu items, leaving customers devastated. The fast food giant confirmed to The Sun that the Chilli Double Cheeseburger and the Triple Chocolate Cookie came off menus in June. 2 The Chilli Double Cheeseburger had been on the McDonald's Saver Menu for just £2.49. It arrived on menus back in November last year to much excitement from fans. The burger had featured two 100% British & Irish beef patties, two slices of cheese, onions, jalapenos, pickles and spicy relish all in a signature soft, toasted bun. Fans say they're gutted the cheap burger option has gone. One person wrote on Reddit: "When they bring out a decent burger they literally discontinue it. "Honestly, I love the chilli cheeseburger. It's one of personal favourites from McDonald's.." Another said: "When it was added to the saver menu, I thought it was permanent. It became my absolute favourite burger, I'm so gutted." Others left comments on TikTok, with one person saying: "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE CHILLI DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER." A fourth person added: "NOT THE CHILLI BURGER." The Triple Chocolate Cookie, which had been on menus for £1.99, was also hugely popular with McDonald's fans. Euromillions record-breaking £210m jackpot won by lucky ticket holder
A single EuroMillions player has become the UK's record-making National Lottery winner with a £210m jackpot. The EuroMillions jackpot is capped once it has reached 250 million Euros – an estimated £210 million. The EuroMillions winning numbers were: 24, 31, 34, 41, 43. Tuesday night's lucky individual instantly became the nation's largest-ever National Lottery winner, knocking into second place the anonymous winner of a £195m prize in 2022. It follows an Irish family syndicate claiming a EuroMillions jackpot worth 250 million euros (£216m) on June 17. The jackpot had reached the maximum amount on June 6 after rolling over several times.
