A man has been banned from stepping foot into every Greggs in England and Wales after being caught stealing.
Patrick Verry, 33, was seen stuffing cold drinks bottles into a plastic bag – but this was just one of six offence in the Wood Green High Road branch in north London.
Footage from a police camera shows officers catching him in the act and tackling him to the ground outside the store as he attempted to escape.
The incident happened on March 15 and comes just days before Greggs announced plans to move refrigerated sandwiches and drinks behind the counter in an effort to tackle such crime.
The chain is trialling the measure in Whitechapel, Peckham and Ilford – all locations it claims are 'exposed to higher levels of anti-social behaviour'.
Verry, who pleaded guilty to six counts of theft from the same store, is not the only man to have just been barred from a major high street retailer.
One shoplifter will no longer step foot inside a Sainsbury's, Boots and Co-op in England and Wales after stealing more than £2,500 worth of goods.
Winston Wright, 44, pleaded guilty to eight counts of shoplifting and one count of commercial burglary at the beginning of May.

He was slapped with a Criminal Behaviour Order which bans him from entering any Sainsbury's, Boots and Co-op in England and Wales for three years.
Wright was also jailed for three months, fined £200 and forbidden from entering the Greenwich for three years.
The Met Police's retail crime chief Rav Pathania said these measures were one part of a broader crackdown.
He added: 'The Met is focused on tackling the most prolific shoplifters like Wright and Verry. They cause fear to retail workers and their offending has a negative impact on communities.
'We continue to work with local business owners to investigate reports of shoplifting, understand concerns and use different tactics to crackdown, including targeted operations and regular patrols.'
Greggs is one of the high street chains worst affected by shoplifting. More Trending
The bakery store appeared in a top five list of retailers hit by shoplifting and theft in the West Midlands, alongside ALDI, Tesco, ASDA and One Stop.
Things had become so out of hand in one London store they were even chained their drinks cabinet shut with a padlock.
The scourge of shoplifters also led to the company's flagship store in Leicester Square hiring a security guard last year.

Is Ruby leaving Emmerdale, does she go to prison and is Anthony still alive?

Ruby Miligan's (Beth Cordingly) fate hangs in the balance in Emmerdale after she reported herself to the police for Anthony's (Nicholas Day) murder. Anthony, as viewers know, was killed by daughter Ruby, who had been sexually abused him when she was a teenager. With assistance from Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) and husband Caleb (William Ash), the murder was covered up, with John disposing of the abuser's remains. But with a corpse having been recovered from the lake, Ruby assumed it was her father's, with John having failed to tell her where exactly he buried him. In a bid to protect her loved ones, Ruby decided to hand herself in, telling the police that she killed Anthony. Viewers have been left worried about the character, fearing that she will go to prison and thus exit Emmerdale. But will this prove to be the case? We have answers. Spoilers for Wednesday's (June 4) edition of the ITV soap follow. No, Ruby is not leaving Emmerdale and nor does she go to prison. The matriarch is questioned by the police for her role in Anthony's death but things take a turn when detectives confirm that the body isn't actually that of her abusive father's. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Fearing that she's turned herself in for no reason, Ruby is horrified but her solicitor concocts a plan, insisting that she make out like she's suffered a breakdown in the wake of her abuse ordeal. Joe Tate (Ned Porteous), meanwhile, learns of Ruby's plight and, feeling indebted to Caleb over the theft of his kidney, he decides to intervene, paying off a contact in Spain to masquerade as Anthony so that the police are able to rule out any foul play. Ruby is therefore very much in the clear and thus returns home to Mill Cottage where she reunited with her loved ones. The happiness will be short-lived, however, as upcoming scenes will see the body identified as Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter). As far as we know, Ruby's dad Anthony is dead, hence why Joe was needed to get his contacts to claim to be the abuser. The character was last seen in January via a flashback sequence, which confirmed that Ruby was the one to murder him. More Trending Aaron, who attacked him previously, thought that he'd killed Anthony and thus John decided to help him get rid of the body and cover up the evidence. As for where Anthony's body is, well that remains a mystery! View More » Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 or stream from 7:30am on ITVX. Teenager who deliberately ran over police officer in Cheadle detained for 31 months

A teenager who deliberately ran over a police officer and then "cowardly" fled the scene has been detained for 31 months. Harvey Bell, 19, drove at PC Tracy Hallworth, knocking her to the ground, before running over her legs. The uniformed officer from Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and a male colleague had responded to reports that four men were taking drugs in a black Audi at Sainsbury's car park on Wilmslow Road, Cheadle at about 11.30pm on 25 January. But as officers approached the car, Bell reversed the Audi a short distance away before PC Hallworth stood two metres in front of the vehicle and ordered him to stop. Prosecutor Sacha Waxman told Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court that Bell ignored the officer and accelerated forward. PC Hallworth, 54, suffered a dislocated kneecap and a wound to her wrist and was taken to hospital after she lost consciousness at the scene. She was off work for a fortnight and although she had recovered from her physical injuries the psychological impact remains, the court heard. Reading out her victim personal statement in court, PC Hallworth said: 'Bell drove off not knowing if I was dead or alive. "It haunts me that if I fell the other way he would have gone over my head and I might not be here. 'I will never forgive Bell for the upset he caused my family. What he did to me is permanently in the back of my mind on every job I go to. 'Thanks to the support of my family and my GMP family, Bell has not been able to take away the thing I love most, my job as a police officer. 'An attack on a police officer is an attack on us all.' Bell, of previous good character, was said by his barrister, Rebecca Penfold to have expressed his 'significant remorse'. He pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. However, Judge Jenny Lester-Ashworth noted that assertion was 'at odds' with his pre-sentence report which said he felt a 'sense of injustice' that he had been held on remand in custody since he handed himself in the following day. She told the defendant: 'You must have known you had hit her, but you cowardly left the scene. 'You could have killed her.' Bell, from Knutsford, Cheshire will serve his sentence in a Young Offender Institution and has been banned from driving for two years and ordered to take an extended retest. Following sentencing, Victoria Agullo, senior crown prosecutor for CPS North West, said: 'Assaults against frontline officers are totally unacceptable and today's sentence for Harvey Bell should leave those who would use a car as a weapon in no doubt that they will face the full force of the law.'

'Drunk' man kicked off plane for 'vomiting on passenger' before 13-hour flight

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video We all have our pet peeves when it comes to flying. Kids kicking the back of your seat the whole way, the person next to you coughing and spluttering everywhere, the person who decides to watch their film without headphones. Spare a thought for the passenger on this EVA Air flight who would have been thanking his lucky stars for dodging all that. That is until the guy sitting behind got up and vomited on him moments before they were due to take off on a 13-hour trip from Taiwan to Austria. Footage taken inside the cabin on May 25 shows the culprit looking worse for wear while still leaning on the seat in front as crew members surround him. One can be see trying to lift him from his seat while colleagues remove his rucksack. Other passengers reported spotting an empty bottle of whisky. One told local media: 'The cabin door was already closed, and then that person started vomiting. 'There was an older man on his right, and when he saw him vomiting, he immediately stood up. 'The flight attendants later helped move that older man's seat, but that whole row was then blocked off and no one could sit there.' Staff made the man disembark so they could clean the seat. The flight was able to depart, but only after a delay of about half an hour, as reported by What's The Jam. More Trending Pilots made up for the lost time en route and the flight landed in Vienna, Austria, on time. The witness recalled: 'It smelt heavily of ginger duck with lots of alcohol. 'He probably drank it before boarding. 'His friend wasn't asked to get off, only he himself was removed.'
