Emirates Courier Express expands to Australia
Emirates Courier Express packages will fly directly into four major cities in Australia – Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney – on 70 flights per week.
The existing passenger flight schedule to and from Australia is timed to provide unrivalled connectivity with key destinations in Europe and the Middle East, enabling Emirates Courier Express to offer the fastest door-to-door delivery time in a matter of days.
Dennis Lister, Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation at Emirates SkyCargo, said, 'Since the early test phase of Emirates Courier Express, we knew Australia would be a key market. Logistically challenging and historically underserved, businesses and end consumers will feel the benefits of our direct connectivity, high frequency flight schedules and flexible, scalable solution.'
Despite the growing consumer trust in cross-border eCommerce retailers, the International Trade Administration reports that only 6 percent of international shoppers are buying from Australia.
Challenges with delivery and logistics play a key role, as fluctuating costs and long timelines deter consumers from placing orders. Conversely, the inbound small parcel volume to Australia has increased by 45 percent in the last two years, and a record number of households are shopping online.

Saudi delivery sector logs 101mln orders in Q2 2025
RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's delivery sector recorded a growing performance in the second quarter of 2025, with more than 101 million orders processed across the Kingdom, the General Transport Authority announced on Monday. The Riyadh region led in total order volume, registering over 45.68 million orders — equivalent to 45% of nationwide activity. It was followed by Makkah with 21.47 million orders (21%), and the Eastern Province with 16.1 million orders (15%). The sector's growth has been fueled by enhanced regulations and frameworks that have enabled logistics companies to improve service quality and efficiency. Investments in digital infrastructure and innovative logistics technologies have improved responsiveness and boosted competitiveness. Emirates boosts services to Dublin with third daily flight
Emirates is set to launch a third daily service to Dublin starting from October 26, offering customers more travel options to Dubai and increased cargo capacity. The new flight will depart from Dubai at 02:10hrs and arrive in Dublin at 06:25hrs local time. The return flight, EK166, will depart from Dublin at 08:25hrs and arrive in Dubai at 20:00hrs local time. The third daily flight will use a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering 8 private suites in First Class, 42 lie flat seats in Business Class, and 304 spacious seats in Economy Class. The service will also offer enhanced connectivity to popular destinations across Emirates' network, including Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Bangkok. Emiratisation gathers pace with more than 150,000 UAE nationals working in private sector
The number of Emiratis working in the private sector has surpassed 152,000, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced on Monday. It marks an increase from 100,000 in May 2024, with UAE citizens now working across 29,000 companies in the Emirates. The figures are from June 30, the deadline set for achieving Emiratisation targets for the first half of the year. Emirati citizens are currently employed across six main economic sectors, the ministry said. These are business services, financial intermediation, trade, repair services, construction and manufacturing. The UAE has embarked on a major push to encourage more domestic talent to join the private sector in recent years. The Nafis programme was introduced in September 2021 with a mission of ensuring 10 per cent of all jobs in the private sector are taken up by citizens by the end of 2026. Companies must increase their Emirati workforce by 1 per cent every six months as part of the nationwide scheme. Employers in the UAE with at least 50 members of staff were required to meet a 4 per cent target by the end of 2023. As a result, the Emirati employment rate will increase to 8 per cent by the end of 2025, and 10 per cent in 2026. Last month, private sector companies were urged to develop long-term strategies to attract and retain top domestic talent and guard against seeking to merely 'fulfil a quota' to hit strict Emiratisation targets.
