Menswear brand &Sons launches wholesale
&Sons, which offers timeless menswear targeting the 'forgotten middle' of 40- to 60-year-old men, is best known for its direct-to-consumer success, driven by a strong e-commerce presence, alongside physical stores in Cheltenham and London. It is looking to utilise wholesale to extend its reach into retail. &Sons autumn/winter 2025 collection Credits: &Sons
The wholesale rollout will be supported by Chris Dent and Rob Sewell at Cocoon Partners, which also represents several heritage and lifestyle brands, including Red Wing Heritage and Filson.
The &Sons' AW25 wholesale offering includes a curated range of the brand's 'hero categories,' including accessories, jerseys, knitwear, trousers and outerwear, with wholesale prices ranging from 12 to 400 pounds. &Sons autumn/winter 2025 collection Credits: &Sons
James Cowdale, co-owner and chief marketing officer at &Sons, said in a statement: 'Our stores have shown us something simple but important - when people see &Sons garments in person, they get it. They feel the quality, the detail, and the story behind each piece, and they connect with it.
'We want more people to have that experience of the brand, and wholesale gives us the chance to do that - but only with the right partners. We're not looking to flood the market. We're building a small, trusted network of retailers who truly understand the &Sons ethos and what that represents. That connection is just as important as the garments themselves.' &Sons autumn/winter 2025 collection Credits: &Sons

Australian retirees are seven times richer than us – despite having a means-tested state pension
It has long been said that Australian pensioners are the richest in the graveyard. In some ways, the morbid adage stands to reason. It's almost half a century since the country abolished inheritance tax, removing any pressure to hastily dispose of wealth and assets in retirement. As a result, the average inheritance is more than AUD $700,000 (£341,000), compared to less than £50,000 in Britain. Multiple pitfalls still exist within Australia's pension system, however, including a 15pc tax on contributions and investment returns, as well as the small matter of a means-tested state pension. The system, known as the Age Pension, means single pensioners with a fortnightly income of over $2,510 (£1,223) do not qualify. The income threshold for cohabiting couples is $3,836.40 (£1,870) per fortnight. In total, only around 58pc of Australian pensioners receive the benefit. This is against a backdrop of a longer life expectancy, a considerably higher cost of living and a potential wealth tax on large retirement pots. Yet, thanks to more sophisticated private pension schemes, Australians still become richer in retirement. Auto-enrolment that doesn't come up short Australia started automatically enrolling people into pensions 30 years ago. A decade later, employers were required to contribute 9pc to their workers' pensions – known there as 'superannuations' – and this has now hit 12pc. Contributions start at age 18 from the first dollar of earnings. Workers don't have to contribute themselves, but can choose to do so voluntarily up to a cap. Britain's system is very different. Here, auto-enrolment became compulsory just 13 years ago. Workers must also be aged 22 and earn £10,000 to qualify. In return for contributing at least 5pc, employers must add a minimum of 3pc.
