Zee TV's Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, hosted by Rannvijay Singha, reconnects urban viewers with rural India via survival challenges and cultural immersion.
Zee TV's new reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon has been creating buzz, not for its unique structure but also because of its sincere desire to bring urban viewers back in touch with the true essence of rural India. Famous TV personality Rannvijay Singha hosts the show and feels that it gives young viewers a unique chance to rediscover a more grounded life.
The reality show gathers 11 accomplished urban women who will spend more than 60 days in a rural Indian village without access to contemporary conveniences, luxury goods, or technology.
What Is The Concept?
The contenders cut off from smartphones, contemporary conveniences, and shortcuts, embrace everyday tasks, cook on makeshift 'chulhas', collect water, and engage in communal life without the comforts of city life.
The show delves further into themes of survival, emotional development, and cultural connection as the participants and viewers learn to live off the land, perform mundane tasks, and accept local customs.
Rannvijay's Rural Touch
Furthermore, this show carries profoundly personal resonance for host Rannvijay Singha. Rannvijay, who was born into a generation that still remembers the pleasures of village life, recounts spending each summer vacation in his hometown of Punjab.
'Growing up, some of my fondest memories are from our village. Every vacation, I would visit my grandparents, and those days had a charm of their own," Rannvijay told IANS.
His early experiences, which included running across open fields barefoot, carrying milk cans from the cowshed, waking up to the sound of roosters, and pumping water at the handpump, influenced his views on perseverance, humility, and familial ties.
As a father, Rannvijay hopes that 'Chhoriyan Chali Gaon' will provide his children and the next generation with a meaningful opportunity to witness the beauty of authentic India.
'I would proudly show off these small tasks to the rest of the family! But unfortunately, today's generation does not get to experience that kind of life," the TV host continued.
Why Chhoriyan Chali Gaon Is A Lesson
'With Chhoriyan Chali Gaon, I want today's generation, even my children, to experience and get a glimpse of the real India, where people live simply, yet peacefully," he added.
Rannvijay stated that he wants his children to understand that 'a grounded, slower life that teaches the value of every drop of water, every grain of food, and the pleasure of doing things with your own hands."
The series is also expected to have a powerful soundtrack, with Mika Singh and Rannvijay himself featured on the title track.
With its blend of emotional development, survival challenges, and cultural immersion, Chhoriyan Chali Gaon seeks to inspire and challenge alongside entertainment.

The National School of Drama (NSD) graduate, who shot to fame with his National Award-winning performance in Drohkaal (1994) and became a staple antagonist in Indian cinema , has chosen to pause his film career — not out of disillusionment, but out of aspiration.'I've done over 300 films in 11 languages, and I'm proud of every one of them. But now, I want something more — a central role,' he declared in a recent vlog on his YouTube channel, which has over a million for films like Vaastav, Haider, and Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Ashish has long been the face audiences remember — even if that face rarely appeared on posters. Reflecting on the kind of roles he's done, he addressed the elephant in the room: 'These days I'm not seen in as many films. That's not by accident — that's a choice. I won't return unless it's for the kind of amazing central roles I've never had a chance to do before,' he said in his being known for commanding screen presence as a villain or side character, Vidyarthi believes he still has untapped potential as a lead actor . And he's actively pursuing it. 'I keep telling casting directors and producers: Just because I haven't been offered those roles yet doesn't mean I can't do them,' he than waiting passively, the veteran actor took a creative detour. 'I didn't want to just sit at home feeling depressed,' he admitted. 'So, I started motivational speaking — to uplift others, and honestly, to keep myself going too.'This pivot led him to develop Sit Down Ashish , a family-friendly comedy show devoid of crude jokes or innuendo. 'People had suggested I try comedy, so I created an entire set. It's a clean, feel-good show anyone can enjoy — something I'm genuinely proud of,' he his motivational talks and comedy sets, Ashish Vidyarthi is reaching audiences in ways traditional film roles never allowed. Khushi Kapoor Shares Unseen Pic of Sridevi Ahead of Late Actress' 62nd Birth Anniversary

Khushi Kapoor shared an unseen photo of her late mother Sridevi ahead of her 62nd birth anniversary. The emotional post left fans teary-eyed. Ahead of what would have been Sridevi's 62nd birth anniversary on August 13, her younger daughter Khushi Kapoor took to social media to remember the legendary actress with a heartfelt gesture. Khushi, who made her acting debut with Zoya Akhtar's The Archies, shared an unseen throwback picture of her mother that left fans emotional. The photo, posted on Khushi's Instagram story, shows Sridevi in the late '90s, dressed in a floral pink top and matching pink jeans, flashing her radiant smile with open hair. While Khushi chose not to add any caption, the post itself spoke volumes. Sridevi, often hailed as the first female superstar of Indian cinema, passed away on February 24, 2018, in Dubai due to accidental drowning. Her sudden demise sent shockwaves across the nation. At the time, her elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor was in the middle of shooting her debut film Dhadak, which Sridevi, heartbreakingly, never got to see on the big screen. Following her passing, Sridevi's husband, producer Boney Kapoor, was left devastated. However, in the days that followed, his children from his first marriage — Arjun Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor — stepped up to support Janhvi and Khushi, helping strengthen their bond as a family. Khushi and Janhvi have both kept Sridevi's memory alive by often sharing unseen photos and remembering her at milestones — be it film debuts, birthdays, or anniversaries. On the professional front, Khushi Kapoor is still working to find her footing in Bollywood. After The Archies, she appeared in Nadaaniyan and Loveyapa, though both films failed to impress critics or audiences. She is currently preparing for her next slate of projects, with fans hoping to see her showcase her growth as an actor.
