BGMI 3.9 update lets gamers play as Optimus Prime: How to join as a Transformer character
The latest update allows players to summon and take control of Optimus Prime during matches, marking a significant crossover in the mobile battle royale title. Using a new in-game item called the Spacebridge Beacon, which appears in specific drop zones, players can call in Optimus in his truck form. Once deployed, he transforms into his robot avatar, equipped with abilities such as the Thermal Axe and Charge Slam.
In addition to these abilities, players can collect Energon Cubes throughout the match. These items serve as upgrade tools, enhancing Optimus Prime's combat skills and unlocking a powerful ultimate move.
A new in-game event called the Transformers Prize Path is set to begin on 18 July. Through this event, players can complete missions and level up to unlock Optimus Prime-themed skins and other cosmetic rewards.
Another feature introduced in the update is the Nemesis Showdown. If both Optimus Prime and Megatron are summoned within the same match, a special encounter can occur, leading to a cinematic battle between the two characters, adding a dramatic layer to standard gameplay.
The BGMI 3.9 update is currently available for download on Android and iOS platforms.
In other news, Krafton is reportedly considering extending the timeline for a potential bonus payout at its subsidiary, Unknown Worlds, following the delay of Subnautica 2 to next year.
Approximately 40 team members at Unknown Worlds were in line to split a $25 million bonus, which was tied to the studio meeting specific revenue goals by the end of 2025, highlighted Bloomberg. A short-term extension had been factored into the original plan. However, with the game's launch now postponed, concerns have grown among staff that reaching those targets may no longer be feasible, putting their expected earnings at risk.

Recognition Music Group, the company that holds publishing and recording rights of over 47,000 compositions from artists such as Justin Bieber, Journey, Shakira, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, is selling $372 million worth of bonds, backed by its royalties, according to a Bloomberg report. Backed by Blackstone Incorporated, the company was known as Hipgnosis, before rebranding in March 2025. Around 76 per cent of its catalogue portfolio consists of music released over a decade ago, the report said, citing information from a report by the Kroll Bond Rating Agency. Recognition Music Group is selling $372 million worth of bonds, backed by its royalties. As part of the proposed bond sale, it also plans to contribute more music assets, independently valued at $340.8 million. That would bring the total valuation of the collateral being put up to about $2.95 billion, based on expected asset cash flows. Proceeds from the sale would be used to repay existing debt, help fund reserves and transaction costs, as well as for other general corporate purposes, according to Kroll, which has assigned a preliminary grade of A to the deal's A-2 class. In recent years, the growing popularity of streaming services has helped bolster royalty cashflows, supporting exotic bonds tied to music assets. Streaming revenue from recorded music swelled to $20.4 billion in 2024, from about $1.8 billion a decade ago, Kroll notes, citing the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry's 2025 Global Music Report. London-headquartered Recognition has been tapping the song-backed debt market for some time, including as recently as the end of last year, when it sold $1.47 billion of notes. Its inaugural music royalty ABS was in 2022, when it sold $221.65 million of debt. The business was founded in 2018 by long-time music industry executive Merck Mercuriadis to buy song rights and was later acquired by Blackstone Inc. affiliates in 2021. Mercuriadis had spent decades managing artists like Elton John and Beyonce before founding Hipgnosis. Barclays Plc is acting as lead bookrunner on Recognition's latest proposed music royalty ABS. The rights in Recognition's music catalog are administered by several organizations, including Sony Music Publishing, Kobalt and Universal Music Publishing Group. FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf settle lawsuit; Singer and actor agree to out-of-court settlement
FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf have agreed to settle her lawsuit alleging LaBeouf was physically and emotionally abusive to her during their relationship. An attorney for the 37-year-old English singer and actor FKA Twigs, whose legal name is Tahliah Barnett, filed a request in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday to dismiss her case against the 39-year-old American actor with prejudice, meaning it can't be filed again. Stars Release Statement "Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court," the two said in a joint statement issued Tuesday by their attorneys. "While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future." About the Lawsuit First filed in 2020, the case had several trial dates scheduled in the years since, but those were always delayed well in advance. The two met and became a couple in 2018 after Barnett was cast in a supporting role in "Honey Boy," an autobiographical film about LaBeouf's upbringing as a child actor. After an early "charm offensive" from LaBeouf, the relationship became a "living nightmare," her lawsuit said. Abuse Allegations She said LaBeouf put her in a constant state of fear and humiliation, once slammed her into a car, tried to strangle her and knowingly gave her a sexually transmitted disease. She said he also isolated her from family and friends, demanded absolute fealty and was angrily jealous of everyone from waiters she'd been polite with to her ex-fiance Robert Pattinson . SharePoint Hacks Turn Up Heat on Microsoft's Cyber Overhaul
(Bloomberg) -- Three months ago, Microsoft Corp. issued a progress report on what it described as the largest cybersecurity engineering project in history. Advertisement Battered by its role in several major hacks, the software giant in late 2023 vowed to overhaul its cybersecurity, in a project called the Secure Future Initiative. The April report noted significant advances, including fostering a 'security-first mindset' in employees and making strides in meeting engineering goals. 'Our progress will not be linear,' the report added. It didn't take long to prove the company's point. On Tuesday, Microsoft accused three Chinese hacking groups, two tied to the government in Beijing, of exploiting flaws in SharePoint document management software as part of a global campaign that's targeted businesses and government agencies, including the US Department of Education. Attackers have exploited the flaws since July 7, according to cybersecurity researchers. The full extent of the damage isn't yet clear. The flaws apply to SharePoint customers who manage the software on their own networks, as opposed to on the cloud. That limits potential victims — though the number could still be significant given Microsoft's reach. Advertisement Roger Cressey, a former cybersecurity official under presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, said errors at organizations as dominant as Microsoft have high stakes and changes are hard to make given its size. 'When you have one provider so omnipresent in our digital ecosystem, the blast radius of their mistakes is enormous,' said Cressey, a partner at Mountain Wave Ventures, whose clients include some Microsoft competitors. 'It's another reminder that Microsoft's failure on making security a priority is impacting our national and economic security.' Microsoft quickly rolled out patches for the flaws, though it said in a blog post Tuesday that it had 'high confidence' that hackers would continue to use the flaws to attack unpatched SharePoint systems. The intrusion is another public relations headache for a company trying to bolster its cyber defenses and reputation. Microsoft is the world's largest software vendor, making it a target for cyber-spies and criminals. It is also the biggest seller of cybersecurity products. 'In this case, we acted quickly, delivering detailed customer guidance and releasing three new security updates within 72 hours to help protect against adversary attacks.' There's little evidence that previous major cyberattacks tied to Microsoft have hurt the company's bottom line. Anurag Rana, a senior analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, said it could even help Microsoft by convincing customers to move SharePoint to the tech giant's cloud, which he described as safer and cheaper in the long run. What's less clear is what impact the latest breach will have on Microsoft's efforts to repair its cybersecurity credentials and appease long-term critics. Advertisement One of them, US Senator Ron Wyden, a Democrat from Oregon, said government agencies have become dependent on 'a company that not only doesn't care about security but is making billions of dollars selling premium cybersecurity services to address the flaws in its products.' 'Each hack caused by Microsoft's negligence results in increased government spending on Microsoft cybersecurity services,' Wyden said in a statement, when asked to respond to the SharePoint vulnerabilities. 'The government will never escape this cycle unless it stops rewarding Microsoft.' In its April report, Microsoft described the Secure Future Initiative as an ambitious undertaking that would take years. For instance, out of 28 engineering objectives, five are nearing completion, 11 have made significant progress and Microsoft continues to work on the others. 'Technology will advance, creating new ways to improve security and new issues to address.
