When we pick back up with the Bay Harbor Butcher, he's waking up from a coma after nearly being killed by Harrison at the end of Dexter: New Blood. After a tense reunion with Batista (and some unwelcome visits from a few franchise bad guys), Dexter escapes his hospital bed to head to New York City, where he hopes to make things right with Harrison.
His son is working at a swanky hotel that has one particularly shady guest who's overstaying his welcome. When that man drugs and attempts to rape a woman in his room, Harrison interrupts, coming to blows with the predator in the room's bathroom. Harrison ultimately wins the fight by smashing the guy's brains in with a toilet tank lid. And when it comes to cleaning up, let's just say Harrison has learned quite a few things from his time spent with Pops in Iron Lake.
'Harrison is a very impulsive character, and Dexter, ironically, while driven by a really strong impulse, is very disciplined on account of this guy,' Jack Alcott (Harrison) tells TVLine in the video above, while motioning to James Remar (Harry) beside him. 'I think that that is a real gift that Harrison gets from Dexter… Being a really impulsive, reactive person can lead itself to all sorts of nasty situations and it is the discipline and the meticulousness that he received from his father that really gets him out of that situation in the hotel.'
And about all that Iron Lake business? Dexter's off the hook. Angela ran out of town, according to new Sheriff Teddy Reed. She apologized for mistakenly arresting Dexter for the murder of Matt Caldwell. The Iron Lake P.D. now thinks it was the guy's father, Kurt, who did the deed. The cops also found a shell in Dexter's jail cell which apparently proves that Logan shot at Dexter first, and that Dexter was only defending himself when he took him down. Sheriff Teddy even asks if Dexter wants to press charges against Angela and the department! He naturally declines.

Selena Gomez has reflected on "the most beautiful year" of her life as she prepares to celebrate her 33rd birthday. The singer/actress will mark her big day on Tuesday (22.07.25) and she has looked back on a whirlwind 12 months during which she got engaged to music producer Benny Blanco and started planning their wedding - insisting she's grateful for the "incredible journey" that has brought her to this point and she's "filled with excitement and hope" for the future. Selena and Benny got engaged in December after more than a year of dating, but the music producer recently admitted they haven't had time to start planning their big day yet. However, he revealed the couple is hoping to take some time over the summer to start putting together plans for the wedding. Speaking on Jake Shane's Therapuss podcast, Benny said: 'Honestly, I really want to take a little break. I've been working so much. I've realised I haven't really had much time off in a while and I'm about to just, I just want to lay in bed and forget what day it is because we've been in bed just watching stuff.'" Quizzed on whether wedding planning has begun, he responded: 'Not yet, that's why we both need to chill. We've both been working so much ... "We're both working on so many things that we hadn't even had time to get into it but we're so excited. "I think this summer we're going to sit down and be like, 'Okay, what are we doing'."

Dog the Bounty Hunter suffers 'incomprehensible' family shooting tragedy
Dog the Bounty Hunter has been left reeling after suffering an "incomprehensible" family tragedy. The 72-year-old TV star and his wife Francie Chapman are in mourning after Gregory Zecca - Francie's 38-year-old son from a previous relationship - allegedly shot and killed his 13-year-old son Anthony in a tragic accident at a property in Naples, Florida on Saturday (19.07.25). A statement from Dog - real name Duane Chapman - and Francie was given to and it read: "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible, tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony." reports no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and investigations are ongoing. Duane - who has 13 children from previous relationships - got together with and Francie in 2020 after they both suffered the loss of a spouse. The TV star lost his wife of 13 years Beth in 2019 after a battle with cancer while Francie's husband Bob Frane died in 2018. Francie previously told Entertainment Tonight the pair bonded over their shared grief which helped bring them together as a couple. She explained: "We understood the pain that the other one was feeling, and [in] those tough days and moments, we helped each other stand up. "We could cry with each other and talk about what we were feeling. We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak, and it brought us together in this amazing way." The pair went on to marry in 2021, but Francie insisted they will never forget their lost loved ones. She added: "We're both still grieving. We're never going to leave Bob and Beth behind [or] forget about them. "They'll always be a part of us. We thought we were going to spend the rest of our lives with them and that's not what happened and we were dealt a really hard hand. Both of us had a decision to make – are we going to rise up from the ashes and get back to life and what Beth and Bob would have wanted from us?"

Chris Cornell's pals create tribute supergroup King Ultramega
Chris Cornell's friends have created a tribute supergroup called King Ultramega to release covers of his songs to raise money for charity. The Soundgarden frontman - who died in 2017 - is being remembered by pals and former bandmates with the King Ultramega project which will feature a rotating line-up of musicians recording new versions of his tracks to bring in funds for the the MusiCares organisation. Metal Allegiance rocker Mark Menghi, who organised the project, said "There is not a singular moment in time that led to this project. It was a trail of events that led to the formation of King Ultramega and the evolving creation to pay tribute to the voice of a generation." The first iteration of King Ultramega features Menghi on bass with Alice In Chains frontman William DuVall taking on vocal duties, Mastodon rocker Bill Kelliher plays guitar and Anthrax's Charlie Benante behind the drums. They have recorded a cover of Rusty Cage, which featured on Soundgarden's 1991 album Badmotorfinger. The next line-up will include Cornell's Soundgarden bandmate Kim Thayil, who said: "I'm super honored to record alongside all the amazing musicians appearing on the King Ultramega project. "I'm equally proud that it celebrates Soundgarden in this tribute to the songwriting of Chris. Ultra-admirably, everyone's participation is supporting the work of the MusiCares Foundation." The news comes after it was revealed new Soundgarden album featuring Cornell could finallt see the light of day. On the eighth anniversary of the Grunge legend's death (18.05.25), bassist Ben Shepherd has revealed there is an album they made with the Black Hole Sun singer before his passing, which is "yet to be named", suggesting it could be released in the future. In a post on Instagram on the anniversary, Shepherd wrote : "As I wait for my son Noah to get out of school today I'm thinking about … well actually it's stuck in my head and's been there since early this morning like a proud spring bird dammit. 'Its a song Chris and Matt wrote The Road Less Traveled for our album that has yet to be named, just hearing Chris' voice helps, I know he did that for everyone he knew … help them, he did for me, filled with self doubt and indebtedness and in just his tone knew what I was going through and forgave me like he always did even when he was older. "It's at this point of recording all of our previous albums I'd get this overwhelming hit of awe, camaraderie, power of creativity, majesty even, and love, from the music, and my bandmates ... and I guess just pure life force. 'I can tell you, it feels good and invigorating to hear Chris singing from over that horizon and hear the mighty… mighty life, of souls sharing. To hear, as a fan … and band member, a song or two Chris brought in a few years ago turn before my very ears and finger blisters into a full blown Soundgarden tune is like feeling a glacier fall away off your chest."
