Budget Samsung watch gets £60 price slash as Apple alternative at 'lowest price' on Argos
'I was skeptical at first, but this watch is just as good as the higher end ones.'
Amazon has slashed £60 off their budget-friendly fitness tracker.

While Samsung is known for their tablets, smartphones and earbuds, the Android tech company also produces a popular smart watch range. Allowing users to receive their notifications and track their fitness at the same time, these gadgets have continued to gain popularity over the years.
As a result, new upgraded models are being released every year - and not just from Samsung. Apple, Google and budget friendly brands are also releasing new smart watches that include more and more features. However, many of these latest releases - especially from high end brands - can come with a hefty price tag.
As many people won't be able to afford the brightest and sharpest device, Samsung has also designed a watch that is an affordable option for shoppers on a budget. The Samsung Galaxy Watch FE normally retails for £169, but Amazon has just slashed the price down to £99 in an exclusive deal.

This price drop just happens to coincide with Argos dropping Apple's alternative - the Apple Watch SE - to their 'lowest ever price' of £169.
Crafted with sapphire glass, the Samsung Galaxy Watch FE was built to last as this material means it can withstand bashes and cracks when worn, reports the Express. For those who are wanting to keep an eye on their health, the FE watch comes with a sleep coaching feature which will analyse a user's sleep patterns.
While providing safety and comfort while shoppers rest, the watch is also able to track over 100 workouts, including yoga and swimming. Additionally, if wearers forget to start a timer at the beginning of an activity, the watch is able to automatically recognise and log the movement.

With features to analyse your sleep patterns and track 100 different activities, this easy to use watch will become your fitness companion. Available in blue and pink at the reduced price, this watch was built to last as it features sapphire crystal glass.
While there are three colours available - black, pink and blue - only the latter two colours have been given a discounted price. Fans of the black model will unfortunately need to splash a bit more cash on their purchase as it is priced at £137.
For shoppers loyal to Android, Amazon has also slashed the price of the Google Pixel Watch 3. Normally retailing for £349, shoppers can now grab the watch in either black, grey, pink or porcelain for £299. Using Google AI, the watch uses your goals, past runs and readiness to create personalised run recommendations with real-time coaching.
Alternatively, Argos has dropped the Apple Watch SE down to their 'lowest price ever' of £169. Available in blue or black, this fitness tracker watch has a water resistance of 50m and comes with three months of Apple Fitness+ for free.
Back to the Samsung Watch FE, Amazon shoppers have given the gadget a 3.9 star rating and it has been bought by over 300 people in the last month. While many shoppers were impressed by the device's ability to track their fitness goals, a few shoppers did grumble about the battery life.
Only the blue and pink editions are included in the sale.

One happy Amazon shopper said: "Is a fantastic smartwatch with fitness tracking, health monitoring, and smooth Bluetooth connectivity. It's lightweight, stylish, and offers great battery life. The interface is user-friendly, and it syncs seamlessly with Samsung devices."
With another adding: "This watch is very accurate! Charges fast, the app works brill with my Samsung phone, quality seems good. Easily measures and identifies what stroke I'm doing in the pool. Very happy."
However, a few shoppers weren't impressed by the battery life of the watch. One person wrote: "I brought this to replace my old Fitbit. Sadly I am really disappointed with the battery life. I literally have to charge it EVERY day. Which is bad when I already have the watch on power saving mode."
With another customer agreeing: "I like the watch but the battery life is terrible. For a new watch I would expect the battery to last more than one day. It loses over 40 percent overnight while I'm asleep."
Despite this gripe, a five-star reviewer wrote: "I was skeptical at first, but this watch is just as good as the higher end ones. Made a perfect gift for my wife. It looks very sleek and has all feature of other watches. Battery life is two to three days with moderate use."
While another person commented: "Easy to set up even for a 74year old technodummy like me. Battery isn't as bad as some reviewers suggest. Fully charged first thing in the morning, wearing it all day and to bed overnight leaves it at 40 percent the next morning."

Fire TV Stick users get 48-hour alert - popular feature will be blocked tomorrow

Some Fire TV Stick users may need to upgrade their devices this week to continuing watching Netflix. If you love a good old Netflix boxset binge and have an older Fire TV Stick plugged into the rear of your screen, beware. It was rumoured last month that some Fire devices may lose access to this popular streaming application, and now that news is official, with the block coming into force from tomorrow, June 3. " Netflix will be discontinuing support for some first-generation Fire TV devices, which were introduced more than 10 years ago," Amazon confirmed in a statement. ‌ The change affects anyone with who owns an Amazon Fire TV Stick (2014), Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote (2014) or Amazon Fire TV (2014). ‌ If that's what you use to stream shows such as Drive to Survive, Adolescence, and Bad Thoughts then you need to buy something new ASAP. We're still not entirely sure why this block is coming into force but it seems it has something to do with a technology called AV1 codec. This allows streaming platforms such as Netflix to offer higher quality resolution - at an extra cost - but it's not supported by those older Fire TV Sticks. ‌ Clearly, Netflix doesn't want customers paying for something they then can't access, and it seems this could be the reason why the app is being taken offline on those older Sticks. Worried you might be affected? To check your Fire TV device, simply navigate to Settings > My Fire TV > About on your Fire TV If your device is on the list below then Netflix will stop working this week. ‌ • Amazon Fire TV Stick (2014) • Amazon Fire TV Stick with Alexa voice remote (2014) • Amazon Fire TV (2014) "Netflix remains available on all other Fire TV devices," Amazon also confirmed. There are plenty of much better Fire Sticks now available including 4K models and the ultimate Max version which brings the exclusive Ambient Experience to screens. This turns TVs into an ever changing work of art and also allows users to add widgets and sticky notes to their televisions.

iPhone 17 Air Leaks: Is This Apple's Thinnest iPhone Yet?

Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 17 Air, a device that aims to push the boundaries of smartphone design. With its ultra-thin, lightweight construction, the iPhone 17 Air is tailored for users who prioritize portability and sleek aesthetics. However, this innovative approach comes with certain compromises, positioning the device as a unique yet niche addition to Apple's product lineup. Here's an in-depth look at what this release could mean for the smartphone market in a new video from GregsGadgets. Watch this video on YouTube. Design and Weight: A New Era of Compact Smartphones The iPhone 17 Air is poised to set a new benchmark for smartphone portability. Weighing just 145 grams, it is significantly lighter than models like the iPhone 16 Pro Max, making it exceptionally easy to carry and handle. Its 6.66-inch OLED display, featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, ensures smooth visuals and vibrant color reproduction. The inclusion of an always-on display adds convenience, allowing users to view essential information without the need to unlock the device. Apple's commitment to minimalism is evident in the iPhone 17 Air's design. By emphasizing a lightweight and compact form factor, the company is targeting users who value convenience and portability over the bulkier, feature-rich alternatives available in the market. The device's slim profile and refined aesthetics make it a standout option for those seeking a modern, minimalist smartphone. Performance and Features: Streamlined Yet Capable Equipped with Apple's A19 chip and 8GB of memory, the iPhone 17 Air delivers reliable performance for everyday tasks and moderate multitasking. This hardware combination ensures smooth operation for most users, although it may not cater to power users with demanding needs. The 48MP main camera represents a notable improvement in resolution compared to older models, offering enhanced image quality for casual photography. However, the single-camera setup lacks the versatility of the ultra-wide and telephoto lenses found in Apple's Pro models. Key features such as MagSafe compatibility remain intact, allowing seamless use of magnetic accessories and wireless charging. The advanced OLED display technology further enhances the user experience, delivering sharp visuals and vibrant colors. While the iPhone 17 Air may not offer the extensive feature set of higher-end models, it provides a capable and streamlined option for users who prioritize simplicity and practicality. Compromises: The Cost of a Sleek Design The iPhone 17 Air's ultra-thin and lightweight design comes with certain trade-offs. The single-camera setup limits photography options, and advanced features like ProRAW and ProRes may not be supported. Additionally, the removal of the bottom speaker means audio output relies solely on the earpiece, which could impact sound quality and volume, particularly for users who frequently consume media on their devices. Battery capacity is another area where compromises have been made. To achieve its slim profile, the iPhone 17 Air features a smaller battery, which may result in shorter usage times compared to other iPhone models. While the A19 chip is expected to optimize power efficiency, heavy users might find the reduced battery life restrictive. These trade-offs highlight the balance Apple has struck between design innovation and functionality, making the iPhone 17 Air a device that caters to specific user preferences. Pricing and Market Position: Balancing Innovation and Accessibility Starting at $899, the iPhone 17 Air is positioned as a more affordable alternative to Apple's Pro models. This pricing strategy makes it an attractive option for users who prioritize design and portability over advanced features. By offering a modern smartphone at a relatively accessible price point, Apple is broadening its appeal to a wider audience, particularly those who value style and convenience. The iPhone 17 Air's price and design place it in a unique position within Apple's lineup. It serves as a forward-thinking choice for consumers who want a sleek, minimalist device without the premium cost associated with flagship models. This approach underscores Apple's ability to cater to diverse consumer preferences while maintaining its reputation for innovation and quality. Potential Impact: A Shift in Apple's Design Philosophy The iPhone 17 Air represents a significant departure from Apple's recent design trends, focusing on portability and simplicity rather than feature-packed complexity. This device reflects Apple's willingness to take calculated risks and explore new ways to meet evolving consumer needs. By prioritizing a lightweight and compact design, Apple is addressing a growing demand for smartphones that are both functional and easy to carry. If the iPhone 17 Air proves successful, it could influence the direction of future iPhone designs, encouraging a shift toward more innovative and daring concepts. While it may not satisfy the needs of power users or photography enthusiasts, it offers a compelling option for those who value aesthetics, convenience, and accessibility. This device has the potential to redefine consumer expectations and inspire new trends in the smartphone industry.
