Divers and Cheshire Search and Rescue join police efforts to find missing woman
Underwater search teams have joined the hunt for Rachel Booth, 38, from Northwich, who was reported missing in the early hours of Saturday, police said.
She was last seen by family in the Barnton area of Northwich before a more recent sighting at around 3.50am around five miles away at the Sandiway garage on the A556 road.
Police said it is believed she may have travelled to the Oakmere area of Delamere, where Cheshire Police officers, underwater search teams and Cheshire Search and Rescue are currently conducting inquiries.
A water park in Delamere, less than two miles away from the petrol station, said it was closed on Sunday due to a police investigation in the surrounding area.
Ms Booth is described as 5ft 9ins, of a slim build, with blonde hair and is believed to be wearing black leggings and a black top.
Superintendent Paul Hughes said: 'We are currently following a number of inquiries to trace Rachel and we are becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.
'As part of our investigation, our officers and partner agencies, including the Underwater Search Team and Cheshire Search and Rescue, are conducting inquiries in the Oakmere and surrounding areas where it is believed Rachel travelled to, and we would like to thank local businesses for their patience and understanding while these are currently ongoing.
'Investigators are following all lines of inquiry and anyone who has seen Rachel since she was reported missing is asked to contact us. The same goes for anyone who has any information on her whereabouts.
'We would also like to appeal directly to Rachel to get in touch to let us know you are OK.'
The Wild Shore Delamere Park watersports centre said in a statement it is closed 'due to ongoing police investigations in the surrounding area'.
The statement added: 'This incident is unrelated to Wild Shore – however we wish to help as much as possible – so we will be closing the site until further notice.'

Police have found human remains at a property that are believed to be connected to a six-year search for a missing man. The discovery was made at a house on Broadcarr Road, Hoyland, in Barnsley on 14 Yorkshire Police have informed the family of Richard Dyson, 58, who was reported missing in November 2019. HUMAN remains have been discovered during the search for a missing man - and cops have arrested two people in connection to the case. Police were searching for Richard Dyson, 58, who mysteriously vanished in 2019, when they made the horrific discovery at a house in Barnsley on Monday. 1 A murder probe is now underway following the discovery of a body - but authorities have not confirmed if it belongs to Dyson. The missing man was last seen six years ago on November 17 at about 11pm. He was walking along the A6135 Sheffield Road in Hoyland - before he strangely disappeared. The remains were found at a property on Broadcarr Road in Hoyland on July 14. Scenes have been put in place on Dike Hill, Sheffield Road and Hoyland Common. South Yorkshire Police said there would be an ongoing presence at the property for the next two weeks or so. Two dead including 25yo driver after Vauxhall Astra hits wall as cops launch appeal for information
TWO people including a 25-year-old driver have died after a Vauxhall Astra crashed in the early hours of Sunday morning in Chester. Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after the horror collision in Eccleston - which saw the car smash into a wall. 3 3 3 The tragic crash occurred on Hill Road at 1:40am in the morning - before cops hurried to the scene. A 47-year-old man who was a passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. But he sadly passed away later on, Cheshire police confirmed on Monday. The 25-year-old driver of the black Astra was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the man behind the wheel was from Smallwood while the passenger was from Rossett. Local cops are also appealing for witnesses of the crash to come forward with any information. The Cheshire force also said that both the men's next of kin of were being supported by specialist officers. Emergency services who arrived to the scene found a black Vauxhall Astra which had collided with a wall. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service sent two engines from Chester to the scene. Officers with the constabulary's serious collision investigation unit are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
